They dont plan to fix it again, it costed them 6K to refurbish it the first time and i doubt they are gonna pay that much again, it would be way more cost friendly to take it down and preserve it as they should have done in the first place
Last year yes, but they didnt restore it correctly, rewinding the motor wrong causing the rotor to expand outward from the torque on it. Then ofc leaving it scrapping
Man thats a nice siren
rip-will be missed. what a nice siren..
That fact that the scraping is more audible then the actual siren is just painful
Very
Sad to see this one of a kind thing go hopefully it can get fixed

R. I. P. Forman Decot (Decot Model 3) 194?(1941?)-2024
Afaik to research done by one of my friends, it’s a 5PH prototype made in possibly the 20s
@@northdakotasirens1520 I understood!
Wasn’t that just refurbished a while back?

Oh my
Very nice video quality! Also, do you believe there will be a replacement for this siren, or will it not be replaced?
All I know as of now is they turned it off and want to preserve it, they turned it off under Justins request
I hope someone saves this rare blueberry.
yeh the blueberry for Forman Co.
Blueberry flavor@@Madnessess-Forever
Yeah you can see how the rotor just stops abruptly like it has a break. Hope they preserve it if their still trying to figure out what to do with it.
I'm decently sure thats the plan, I did bring up with the towns superintendent that ya know its a one of a kind and all that
Damn that scrape is horrible
Yeah it sounds horrific, I’m just glad it’s shut off now and it’s probably gonna be preserved
Hopefully they can get the rotor re-centered, and/or get it restored by a company who actually knows what the hell they're doing
Nah, I doubt they are gonna keep letting it go in a state like this. Its best to just turn it off and preserve it
Clearly the one who rebuilt it didn’t align it correctly.
Why is the wind down so short the wind down was like 20 seconds
The rotor was rubbing the stator
What caused the chopper to do this?
Its excessive startup torque
They made the right decision
