Project red sounds generic and won't even use a Japanese male character along side its female option.
Project hexe and it's cat control magic powers nonsense doesn't belong in Assassin's creed and it sounds cringe.

@thejudginglama. It's almost like you forgot that these games are made for different people. Some will like it Some won't. Development is still continuing for hexe so who know maybe they will change it or make it less fantasy. Raid sounds like more like unity co-op. And for the subscription base content I really hope is for raid but if it's for single player like red and hexe then I can see why most like me will be upset.

I've always kinda wanted a full present day AC game, and no it's not Watch Dogs. They exist in the same universe, but Watch Dogs aren't Assassins.
Ac red may be good but Ubisoft lost me as a customer after them spitting in everyone’s face by showing they can take away any game anytime. I’m not going to spend my money just to have it taken away.
Sailing the high seas is very tempting nowadays as you actually have the game permanently in your system and they can't do anything to take it away...

If they made a purely modern-day AC game (linear with large levels like Uncharted 4 and LOU2. Cars would be difficult to manage in an open-world AC city), I will be so happy.

I'm so happy for the PvP multiplayer comeback. Now i just hope they keep the DNA of older multiplayers.
It baffles me with the RPG games that so many good mechanics (inc Story Creator and Animus Control Panel) don't carry on from game to game.... I honestly think if UBI reinstated / improved the content that is removed for some reason from one game to the next they'd have a much better RPG title. I can only hope that the Infinity hub helps the studios collaborate and carry over content and mechanics easier. Cheers
this could be great but also a disaster. Ubisoft is going the Jack of all trades master of none route and they keep changing the core lore and laws of the OG AC to the point where they are about to literally make the witcher. So idk ive learned to keep my expectations past low with Ubisoft

I don't trust anything coming out of Ubisoft at this point. I thought Mirage was a pretty solid return to form, nothing groundbreaking, but the fact that they're going so hard down the RPG route is ridiculous. The series was never meant to be this way. Ubisoft is only making these RPG's to push cosmetics and microtransactions
The Assassin's Creed franchise is truly incredible. It's still a shame that Assassin's Creed Valhalla is not getting a new game plus but it's still a great game

Why don’t they just make the mainline RPG ones numerical again so it’s clear that’s the mainline, and the subtitled ones are the weird linear campaigns we don’t talk about and keep Basim as it’s protagonist. That way, we have a series following a modern protagonist (have Desmond come back since he’s alive), and the other people get a ancient protagonist (who’s also the series villain Isu) so then everyone’s happy and the franchise is actually moving together with a plot that coincides. And if anyone says “but AC 20” would be such a weird thing to see. Final Fantasy exists.

Not if they blow off NG+ with their games like they did with Valhalla, makes the entire game a waste of time without NG+. It’s 2024 that should be standard on launch day at the bare minimum.
It’s not standard practice because the majority of people don’t replay the game after finishing it.

I sure hope you're right about Mirage kicking off a "new era" for the series. Unfortunately, it's just as likely they pick up right where they left off with Valhalla. How hard is it for Ubisoft to separate their interest in making RPGs & Assassin's Creed? Make another IP for RPG games and keep AC true to what it is/was.

Honestly I loved AC multiplayer mode. It was different than most at the time. I sucked at it, but enjoyed it very much.
Idk but somehow Ubisoft is always downgrading first the dope ass engine in unity. 2nd not following a ASSASSINS story Bayek was really cool and orgins was a good game. And 3rd remember when Ubisoft added the grapple hook and everyone complained that’s quite literally a farcry from now with all the super powers the new games have idk. Listen, mirage was fun for what it was, but me particularly, I would much rather keep with the open world rpgs, red is high on my list for interest, jade even if it gets console port, & codename nebula with the aztec, indian, & mediterranean settings, but honestly, the formula for solely assassinations or other contracts like mirage, gets very old very quickly. Time will tell that will get phased out after how well red does even with the microtransactions and other changes we all fear. 🤷♂️

Ive been begging Ubisoft to develop a Open world style medieval fantasy RPG. They have such a beautiful formula with Far Cry and Assassins Creed. This idea is literally a money printer. I hope they do it eventually especially since RPGs are HUGE right now.

Let us just get remakes of the originals at this point. Keep it exactly the same with a few bug fixes and smooth things over but the same over all just higher resolution and 60fps+.

For Red tho i really have high expectations. Great setting and finally a game for new generation only. I really hope it will be similar to Origins both in scope and story wise. Valhalla and Odyssey were good games but complete failures as Assassins Creed games.

Yes, it does. Mirage- 9th century while AC1 takes place during the 3rd Crusade (12th century)

I kind of feel the opposite. I skipped Mirage as I really didn’t care for the character and he seems to be playing a bigger part in future titles.
I tried to give It a shot with the free trial and found the new gameplay awful. I don’t feel like an assassin playing that game. The combat might actually feel the worst in the series to me. Didn’t feel fast or free flowing.
It was a short amount of time to get a feel, but didn’t like it. I will check out Red, but that might be my last AC. I also find it extremely annoying that new games use locked doors as a way to pad out the games now.

I’ve always been a fan of Assassins creed games but man I was disappointed with Mirage only because of the combat. They could have kept it like Odyssey or Valhalla and that would have been fine

For me Mirage was a solid experience. Valhalla tho is in my top 3 favorite games and I have played and finished over 140 single player titles.

Well seems like we are finally getting more of them after the success of Mirage. And truly a game we deserve.
I'll be honest... I'm not excited for anything AC related, or really anything with Ubi's name attached to it. AC Red looks like the game everyone wanted after Unity, except it's supposed to be another open world RPG... I actually think those have been generally good games, but not good AC games, and I guarantee that when it comes out, the consensus will be "go back and play Ghost of Tsushima instead." AC Hexe I have very low expectations for because I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell that the current writing team can pull that off without it just being another contrived, out of place narrative with an obnoxious (at best) lead character. They're welcome to prove me wrong on both accounts when the time comes.
I don't think the future of Assassin's Creed will EVER look bright as Kong as Ubisoft still pushes it's scummy as fuck system down our throats. PLEASE STOP GIVING THESE SHITTY COMPANIES ATTENTION.
They need to go back to characters with unfinished storys . remember the Connor arno and shay crossover game we never got where are i and Connor teamed up to take out shay . Well, i will scip AC Red, which is a first. My main reason is Yasuke and the fight system. Ghost of Tsushima had such a good fighting system, they can't beat that. GoT also head these amazing historical armour pieces and when i look at AC Valhalla where they created maybe one or two almost viking looking armours in the Dublin DLC but in the rest of the game we had fantasy plate armours. And finally, why would i want to play as an african samurai in Japan? Thats so immersion breaking and by the way, scholarship is pretty sure that Yasuke was not a Samurai, more like court couriosity and servant.
I think the parkour and the combat in mirage in this day and age 2024 is pretty mediocre

I will reiterate, there are no problems with the games, the games are great...its just the company, Ubisoft as a whole is the problem, the headhonchos running the company are the same people who's running the company to the ground.

It feels unfinished to me. Every single mission feels the same as the last and the entire game is one long fetch quest
The combat is horrible and the parkour forces you onto boring repetitive paths
I just don't get it as I feel the game is a terrible stripped down shadow of what valhalla was
