    The woodworking is solid, but I was most impressed by your artistry, something that I feel is being lost in a lot of modern videos that copycat one another. This was a unique idea which took a unique mind to generate. Well done, sir.

    So very imaginative, beautiful and cool!!!! The LED lights look like a trail of hot golden coals spralled out in a line amoung the rocks, like after someone stepped in each place they left hot golden embers behind!! If you want more of a glow maybe try dropping the LEDs down by adding one more and placing back to back and then up against the underside center with the lights facing out sideways, and then adding a reflective surface around the edges of the underside of the rocked area, angled up towards the strips in center of table so the light will reflect off of the reflective surface an back up at the underside of the surface from edge to center. I think that will light the underside up like I think you were expecting and wanted!!
    Wonderful build, I subbed!!!

    I was just mesmorized with the finish piece. The part you cut out of the table I thought was the piece to bring the whole thing together and if really flowed together. Loved the idea of the LED Strip down the center and the dimming light. When you did the close up of the center I kept waiting for water to flow down with tiny fish haha. Took me back to fishing at a small Brook with those types of rocks. Thanks for sharing

    Great skill level! I watch these types of vids all the time to learn so I can soon make some pretty things of my own. I love the resin and the stones idea. I'd love to do it with cut bits of glass. As a woman I'm worried about how much some of these heavy duty tools are and if I'll be able to wield them for lengthy periods of time, but I'm determined to try. So anyway thanks for taking the time to make this vid. It helps some of us people who don't know how to do these things learn a bit of great craft from someone with a great skill level!

      You can get a logo 3d printed, it just takes a bit of your time in sketchup, and if you design a bit on the backend where you can cut threads afterwards you can make a handle on it (by turning some wood) and there you go.

    Love the table, that was gorgeous when you finished...but the overhead lighting from the piece you cut out of the table has to go..no good...not attractive at all. Lighting under the table to shine up through the rocks in the table, now that would be breathtaking. But good work my friend, I saw how much time and work went into that entire job. Thank you for sharing.

    • @whollyman
      @whollyman 7 років тому +3

      I agree, the light overhead was trying to re-use the cut-out, but it does not work, esthetically. The resin lake bottom with pebbles is magical, and the shape is not noticed because the pebbles are so dramatic. Then you see the shape of the light and it destroys the magic of the table. Sorry!

    It just bothers me on many different levels that the lamps shape is flipped.
    It should have just fitted right back in if you dropped it down.

    • @vynz0789
      @vynz0789 7 років тому +1

      Kangsl is right! the lamp (or table) needs to be rotated 180 degrees! Look at the circles at the ends of the lamp: the right side has many circles while the left side has only one circle. Compare that pattern with the circles in the table and you'll see it's rotated!

    • @Onrust1
      @Onrust1  7 років тому +4

      You're all off. As you can see somewhere in the beginning, to prevent the piece of falling (breaking) in, I screwed a beam on top of it. Because of those three screw holes, I couldn't use what used to be the top of the wood for the upside of the lamp. So I had to flip it over and use the bottom side as top. Therefore it now never 'fits' the table anymore, no matter how you turn it (yes, if you let the light shine UP! ..LOL :-).
      I guess that's how you learn. I should have never used the screws, I could have clamped the center wood. But back then I didn't know what to do with it anyway....

      It's actually easier to get an accurate cut with the round side. If you wobble on the straight side the bit moves away from your straightedge. If you wobble when on the round side the bit stays the same distance away. I have no idea what the makers are thinking when they put those flat sides on routers. Totally bad idea!

      Well, I studied and graduated in construction, so that helped, but apart from that I'm really more or less self-made.. Learning by doing. It goes for this table too; before this I never did anything with epoxy resin. The bus gave me a creative way of thinking, and the lamp (see my other two videos) made me aware of that. Before that, I never considered myself to be very creative, as in being able to create things out of nothing. Fantastic and very innovative project!!! Really enjoyed it!!!! Before i saw this, I was watching a woman from across the big pond whitewashing and destroying a wooden table with paint..... This is like from another dimension!!! Well done!! Keep creating!!!

    Bro!!! I love the way you work. Attention to detail. Not having the "that will do" attitude. Absolutely tremendous workmanship. I respect that. 👍

    awesome job on the table. I couldn't tell if the grain of the overhead piece was inline with the table but I thought that would be a great touch if it did. Really nice. Now Im thinking about trying it.

    • @Onrust1
      @Onrust1  7 років тому

      Nice to hear that I at least started you thinking about it... :-) No the lamp is not inline with the table - that was no longer possible because in the beginning (as you can see) I screwed the beam on top of it, to prevent it from falling / breaking in. So there were three screw holes in the top of that piece. Because of those the top was damaged and I had to turn it upside down, and therefore it never can match the table. Unless I put the table upside down too... ;-) XD

      That's nice, Linda. I today finished a much bigger project on which I worked for five months. I'm not sure, but I think I'll need another month or so to make a video, but I assure you, if you liked this table, you surely won't regret the subscription. 😊 Thank you!

    Just subd your channel. I really like your work. One of the things that struck me, was the way you take time at the end to show every aspect of the finished product. So many people just gloss over the final product. Great stuff. Keep um comin.

    • @Onrust1
      @Onrust1  7 років тому

      Glad you noticed that for me the object is the product, and not the video. In the future that is the way I want to go: first make something really unique and then show it. So no, I can't do a video a week. I'll be more on a schedule of a video a month. Maybe, somewhere in the future, when I can dedicate more time to it, I can do one a week. I hope so. :-) Thanks for the sub!
