Just got rid of a same style (square) snap-on light yesterday and ordered this one today. Can't wait to put my hands on it!

I will say 7lm is perfect for super secret squirrel operations for military missions. Sometimes other red lights maybe too much for certain situations. The low lumen output is great for map reading in the field as to not be detected while navigating.

I like that sidewinder boot. It looks tough YES I would also have a headlamp
but I personally feel that the "everywhere I look the light goes " feature of a headlamp gets annoying quickly.

Ya, headlamps have their place...but just as you said...it's that tunnel vision feeling sometimes. Having an additional light source is nice.

Mine broke within 30 days. Fell off the side of the bed, the part that secures/clips the lens cover to the head cracked...
