As a young, fit man, I respect your hustle and ability. But, please be careful… this job can age you FAST. I have a 16 relay, all walking route. Some of my loops are 30 minutes walking no matter how much mail I have because of the distance. I do not “run.” I move at a manageable pace… one that can preserve my energy and health. Eyes are always scanning, head is on a swivel. I want to make it to retirement without too much damage to my body.

Nick I finished my first full route by myself yesterday (they did have it cased up for me by time I arrived! Had 4 trays of DPS. I was super proud of myself as it was only my 5th day on my own. what is better utility string or regular route mail carrier. I dont have much experience after converting to regular full time from ptf and had to bid at a different office for regular route and now I want to bid on a utility string so I can learn more and be helpful to case those other routers when office needs help and what I was thinking of is bid on a utility string and then bid back my old route so when I go on the OT list then I have experience too help case a 2ed route when they need the help.
what is your thoughts on that because what a few of my coworkers told me is our office is finally getting back to normal staffing and I might not be able to get back my old route if I were to bid it back and I know no one else in the office likes my current route since its a full walking route besides a hour of driving business route and I like that route with the business section of it for the winter I got a microwave to heat up my food and to get out of the heat. Half the station has bunch of apartments and mounted routes and the only issue is if someone from a different office bids it that has a higher seniority me I end up losing it. what r your thoughts do I make sense thanks I like herring about how you do your job and all the advise.
