This was great just a question do you not like using mono?? Im just starting out and just curious ive been using 15lb mono on my baitcaster
I run #50 braid to 15# mono. It's been my preference and have not had any issues whatsoever.
Any tips for the right setup for like a ballhead finesse jig? 3/8-1/2 ounce most of the time.

14-20 will work on 3/8 to 1 ounce full size
John: If I wanted to use one rod for open water jigs (non flipping) and texas rigs....would your Cashion Signature Worm Rod work or is it too light for a 1/2 ounce football jig

Been breaking off on the hook set quite a bit when using finesse jigs......currently using a heavy action rod and 17 lb flouro. For all my jigs. I’m thinking of changing to a medium heavy rod to solve the break off problem. What do you think?
Definitely want to go to medium heavy for any finesse jig.

Reel up all the slack and get all the bend you can on your rod, they will set the hook on themselves 👍🏼

High gear ratio reel is extremely important because every time I hook a bass with a jig or worm in shallow water the Bass will usually head towards deeper water aka (under your boat directly towards you!) That’s where you have to chase down the slack because if you can’t keep tension on that fish he is a goner!

You are good at teaching. Not only do you provide excellent content, but you provide reasons for doing things certain ways. Ex. Why have a faster reel when casting long distance into deeper water. And why have a rod with a little more backbone when fishing deep water with long casts.
