A little poem about a gypsy
Wandering looking for connection
Once you realize you’ve never known
Her soul ,being a velvet stranger ,
Burning memories you wonder who you’ve met.
My second song in DADADF# tuning,
Recorded with my Takamine ., it has some lovely chords
But once I added the electric guitar in standard tuning
And added the octave solo double tracked,
It all became a rock ballad with a kind
Of highland feel .

Where the gypsy and the ferryman
Answered her call
Her mind grows restless
When the evening falls
Uncomfortable in her skin
The world she’s living in
In a dragonfly patrol
chasing ghosts who comprehend
You never know

Raise a fire within
burn all your memories
take your caravan
To the rainbow’s end
She came from the reed lands
Raised by the moors
Took me a while to understand

I got the idea from Rory Gallaghers keychain .. it has this peculiar solo used throughout the song , so I thought about it doing something similar

My mother had one quarter Gypsy blood, so I can identify a bit. We have a wanderlust in our blood and sometimes commitments can be too much, hehe.
