Having flown from Manchester to Zimbabwe on ethiopian in economy I can honestly say the hospitality you receive from the crew is amazing. They make you feel really welcome and are there for you anytime you need anything. They provide you with such an amazing experience
So great to see an Ethiopian airline review! Flew economy from LHR to Addis Ababa with them and their hospitality is amazing!! One of my best ever flights in economy
I flew with them from LAX to Dublin. From the time I booked my flight and traveled back and forth , I give them a A. They knew I was flying to Dublin for mom,s funeral. The ticket was reasonable. I highly recommend this airline. All crew members we're angels. God bless them.
Thanks for watching! Also, the flight was "SHOCKINGLY IMPRESSIVE" because I haven't heard anyone rave about Ethiopian before, so I didn't have high expectations going in🙂 Glad I got to try them and see for myself!
Nonstop Dan hey Dan , I plan to be a Indian version of you reviewing all commercial airliners , just like u do. Wish me the best of luck!! Hopefully in the future
I flew on Ethiopian business class last July from YYZ to ADD. 13 hours with them and the crew was fantastic!! Very attentive and very welcoming. Food was terrific too!!
ET airlines has been profitable for over 25 years. They are a superb airlines and well managed with brilliant strategic planning. They go from better to better all the times.
And one thing, I flew economy and was treated so kindly. And the supervisor came over to me and gave her condolences. Like I say a big thank you to them for the kindnesses
This is rather a case of flying a lesser known airline for at least Europeans. The middle east ones are much more known to us. I personally have been to Ethiopia many times and love both the airline, country, and food :)
Flew Ethiopian from Bangkok to Addis and Nairobi two weeks later Nairobi to Addis and Singapore. The food out of Addis is out of this world. The Addis Singapore flight was one of the best meals that I’ve had in ages. Love Ethiopian Airlines.
The point about Ethiopian being successful and profitable is an important one not only because of the economic zone from which they base their ops but also the altitude of their home base in Addis--7600' MSL. A lot of their long haul flights originating in Addis require a fuel stop (i.e. Addis-Lome-Washington) because they simply cannot depart with the amount of fuel needed to make the full trip (like BAW 1 out of LCY, requiring the fuel stop in Shannon). Ethiopian is profitable because it keenly takes advantage of ICAO freedoms 3-5, such as the route featured.
@@tilethio More difficult, primarily because at higher altitudes the air is thinner. If you're flying a B777 with an approach speed at sea level in dense air, your approach speed of 135 KTS will result in a groundspeed that is very similar to your airspeed. But at higher elevations, the thin air requires a faster groundspeed to achieve the same 135 KTS airspeed. This is one of the myriad of reasons planes fly well above FL250. Thinner air results in faster ground speeds due to less drag from the considerably less dense air. The handling characteristics of planes are also a consideration when operating into and out of high elevation airports. Simply put, control inputs are less authoritative and handling an aircraft at high elevation airports requires different inputs than at lower elevations. Last point I'll make is about engines. Large jet aircraft generally have enough excess thrust to safely climb away in the event a landing is aborted, but with an engine out and flaps deployed, a smaller plane would have trouble climbing at higher altitudes. Engines perform based on the amount of fuel and air entering the cylinders or compressors (depending on piston or jet) and the less air, the lower the ratio and fuel/air mixture entering the engine, therefore less thrust at higher elevations. And since D A S K asked my sources 11 months ago, I'm a flight instructor.
Another great video Dan. Though I am biased as an Ethiopian, I agree that ET is a great airline. Wait till you fly our 789s and A350s, those are really nice.
I’m a fan of uploading in chronological order Dan 👌🏼 Also, “makes the Roman alphabet look like language for dummies” and “transform into a giant pad thai” gave me a good laugh 😂 I would love to fly Ethiopian one day as well.
Have you seen my video on Ethiopian A350 in business already? So nice to see all this again on another flight, same menu design, same seats, same brought colors. I also thought that it's a pretty good airline. Maybe the best in Africa! And I also love unrestricted legroom! Well done as always, Dan!
Love your premium videos. I’ve seen s lot of good stuff about Ethiopian. I’m toying with the idea of a trip with them. I’ve also heard some interesting things about Addis airport. I can’t wait for you to do long haul with them!
Hey Dan! You should test out their A350's and 787-9s! They're awesome! I loved flying them to Stockholm in Economy! Legroom, Food, In-flight Entertainment, Seats, Cabin Crew is Top-notch and all that for an excellent price! Although their old 787's and 737's are quite outdated in terms of cabins and Bole Intl isn't the best to transit in,although they're so generous m they offer a free hotel room when you're layover is 11+ hours with shuttle services!
The B777 200LR is a moderate aircraft. I mean Ethiopian airlines more modern airlines like the B787-9 and A350 have an AMAZING business class tbh and they have great privacy. Dan you should try one of their modern aircraft if you think that was good. Edit: On the modern aircrafts ethiopian airlines offers a 2-2-2 layout in business class.
Ethiopian is shockingly underrated. Better than majority of the European carriers. Not only the best in Africa but in the world too. Operating modern aircraft a big fleet, it deserves to be in the top 10 airlines in the world.
I always fly Ethiopian Airlines out of Brazzaville to Bangkok in business class, it's the best. Though i must say that the catering out of Brazzaville is not always up to the service the crew provides... Love Flying Ethiopian Airlines

Great review of a little-known (to most Westerneers) airline. I personally really like yellow travel pouches, and I purposely buy them, because it is easy to spot them when you’ve packed up and are leaving an airplane or hotel. More than once I’ve left behind black, beige, or white bags, but I’ve never once not spotted an overlooked yellow bag when doing my “final sweep”, so to speak.
Although there is pressure on you from the Swedish people to fly less, my main issue is in Portugal where us locals are noticing that some Swedish residents are consuming three times as much energy than the local people. Very strange, but true.
I love passion fruit juice, too, and it's abundant here in my country (Brazil). In some places (such as around the corner here) you can even get it freshly blended from actual passion fruits almost all year around, but the bottled version from the supermarkets is good enough. However, I would avoid it for a 2-hour late-night flight, because it's a mild natural sedative and you might get TOO sleepy for the arrival. That was probably why you had to take a nap even though you hadn't planned to do it. (Passion fruit is widely used here as a folk medicine for sleeplessness and anxiety, and there are also over-the-counter concentrated pharmaceutical formulations using other parts of the plant, as well as other species of passion fruit that don't taste good for juice or culinary uses but are more medicinally active, and they are very effective.) Of course, it's great for a long-haul flight and probably for jet lag. You're likely to sleep like an angel.
Thank you Dan for another great flight and a most excellent product by the look of things !!! Always enjoy your reviews and I am glad your brother enjoyed Hong Kong as we all do ( unless there is some Civil Unrest !! ) Looking forward to the next episode !!

Many people are prejudiced against African airlines without having flown on them...
They think there getting there in a rickshaw. Or that the plane is crap and represents the countries economic status.
