- "This is the first time I have met him today, I have heard so much about him and have been wanting to meet him. We share the same name and he does a phenomenal job when it comes to education and teaching people," says actor Salman Khan as we are introduced to this very interesting interview with khanacademy.org's Founder and CEO Salman Khan. He started the Khan Academy with a mission to provide free world-class education to anyone anywhere. Mr Khan says he wishes this initiative helps as many students as possible.

I personally benefit from his website and love it, however I will have to correct you. He is making a profit from him, his organization is using the "Community Based" business model. This is when a certain time point in the year he ask/suggest for a donation to make the site better. Wikipedia uses the same business model. But I absolutely love Khan Academy

You might not understand the thing about not-for-profit organizations is that they might earn some profit but they aren't doing this for profit and don't directly monetize it for money and don't really earn as much as the for-profit organisations do by selling their stuff.
Hanya Hage I believe you underestimate my knowledge of business models and I assure you Khan Academy understands what business model they are using. Do not let the term "Non profit" confuse you and make you believe there is no profit involved in the business , even by design. They've looked at ways to make money just the same as Wikipedia and many other non profit organizations. There are many non-profit organizations that may operate without the intentions of earning anything, but most if not all depends on government grants, and the kindness of the community to continue operation. NPR is another example. This is a business model.This is just business whether you agree with it or not. Khan Academy earns more than you think. In 2012 alone they have generated 15.8 million dollars which is more than many for profits businesses make. That is not peanuts and have since then grown their audiences and expanded their tutor services to include science, coding, SAT help, history and more. They have assets of 60 million dollars. I understand Non profit organizations quite fine but hope I've taught you something new.
in 2014 their revenue increase from 15 million dollars to 19 million dollars.

Wish the interviewer had a better idea of what Khan Academy is doing before embarking on this interview ... Some really daft questions were asked and asking if Sal's work is termed "frivolous" was just ridiculous! Also please know your manners like not interrupting the speaker in the middle of an answer...!!! I guess what I'm saying is that the interviewer made a joke of himself by his own behavior, stupid comments and lack of research and came thru as really dated! He needs to take a few of those lessons himself! BTW, I've seen a lot OS Sal's videos and he is witty but not "funny" by any stretch of the imagination... Then again would not trust this interviewer to know the difference anyway.

The interviewer thought he was interacting with his own kind -- the haha-hoohoo types -- not well-read, lecherous, partaking of mind-numbing talks and entertainment and who would put up with useless questions, interruptions, etc.

This is total shit. The interviewer is in a huge delusion. Sal Khan is clearly a bigger personality than Salman Khan. His work and global image is definitely unmatched by his name sharer. I feel bad after viewing this video. The interviewer seemed to have insulted Sir Sal Khan. It is very shameful, not just for the old man but for India, in general. Dont get me wrong...but isn't it that we Indians have made acting THE most reputable and respectable job. To the extent that people who are in other jobs, doing excellent work, are considered lesser in the presence of our so-called SUPERSTARS !!

I know Sal Khan (educator) from 2012, since then i was in a deep curiosity about this guy that how he could be a great personality in global online education world. I further thought if there could be an interview between the two famous Salman khans (educator and bollywood star) and finally it happened. My thinking fullfilled, but remember these two people are famous in two different industries and you can not compare both guys on one platform. No and impossible.
