The Utility on the Master trick is so simple yet genius. Loved the performance video, and seeing the little tricks in the setup makes it even better. Big luv Step!
Brilliant tutorial. I absolutely love the support from Ableton, I particularly like your use of sample hits IN session view, that’s absolutely brilliant and will definitely feature in my sessions. Thanks so much! Nothing like learning from the pros x
love this! fave tips: the drum rack pad in session mode, and also the instrument rack where she brings up the volume of the second instrument after looping the first. So cool, never would have thought about that. In heels too...
Bravo, This lady DJ Step1, I am impressed by your performance. Is there a tutorial on how to use Push and Ableton live on line that any one can recommend me? Thank you
How does one get a pad sample onto vinyl? Do they sell vinyls will a bunch random different samples on them or can you send audio out to the turntable via ableton +. a dummy plate?
How long did it take to figure all that out? I'm still trying to connect my dj808 and mpk225 to ableton and serato dj like this. Thanks for sharing the video every little bit helps.
This video is gold, thank you for sharing your setup :) I feel sorry for your feet though they look a little squashed. Anyway, that Nektar Pacer looks interesting and I could need a foot pedal so I will take a closer look into that. Had the 12 step in mind but I think I prefer real buttons.
Hey , awesome, just what i was looking for, thank you!! But i have a Problem and hope anybody have a solution. I use the Traktor z2 and hear the master Signal twice, from Traktor and Ableton. Do i need an extra Audio-Interface to set this up, please??
Can somebody explain to me how she gets first melodic sequence in the right tempo? I can't hear a metronome and I have always wondered how to start a loop without having a reference to the master clock. or is she creating her own tempo somehow? Anyway dope performance
cimon Push's metronome button flashes in time with the session, which you can use as a visual metronome. That, coupled with input quantization and practice could be enough to get clean recordings without a click.
She's recording it as audio. Then looping the start and end points. Ableton is probably warping the audio clip. So even if it's a little long or short, it will be in time with the beat once it's looped after playing live.
fakshen1973 so you mean she has a simpler on a midi track and sets the output to another track where she's recording the audio? But how does she know the right tempo to start with? If she is too slow or fast you would hear the artifacts from abletons warping. Thanks anyway for your support
can a 900 Nexus2 serve as my audio interface for a setup like this ? PLX-1000 turntable deck 2, and the Push 2 line out into deck 3's line input ? using Serato. Thanks
Whenever I try to make a track for a live performance I just make the track without thinking about the performance aspect and then once it’s done I remove a few parts so I have something to play live on push on stage. I don’t like the way I do it but I really struggle with working out how to make a track specifically designed for performing from the start.
Honestly We need more in depth videos like this!! The possibilities for DJ's are endless!!!

Big luv Step!
Ableton Live producers are the skyscraper engineers of digital music production. Fuck'n incredible craftsmanship!
This is epic...This initial video was the final straw that inspired me to buy my push last week. Couldn’t be happier. The journey has begun.
These tips are actually amazing 🤩
So awesome! Seeing the use of the foot pedal felt like seeing behind the scenes of a magic trick. DJ Step 1 is fire!
So cool to see breakdowns of routines. Thanks Abelton and Step1.
Brilliant! Creative, informative, educating and sounds great. Perfect video. Thanks
Great live production! Looking forward to seeing more from Step 1!
what a master class. Thank you for this. Loved your session!
Somehow it is even more impressive after the breakdown! Mad Props!
Brilliant tutorial. I absolutely love the support from Ableton, I particularly like your use of sample hits IN session view, that’s absolutely brilliant and will definitely feature in my sessions. Thanks so much! Nothing like learning from the pros x
I hope one day we'll be able to directly controll stuff on ableton live with timecode vinyls.
The day has come sir. Check out the "phase" dj midi trigger.
@@enigma-g5549 thanks!!! Need to check it out
@@enigma-g5549 Interesting concept... didn't think of using the Phase triggers in that way before. Thanks!
I have a DDJ-1000 and love it but never knew you can do this next to it. I love it! Thank you for the inspiration and explanation.
love this! fave tips: the drum rack pad in session mode, and also the instrument rack where she brings up the volume of the second instrument after looping the first. So cool, never would have thought about that. In heels too...
All this is way over my head but I enjoyed it all the way. Brilliant. 🏴👍

You are amazing and professional and I am starting to follow you because there are many things to learn from you.
Super cool! Great performance and presentation!

Great video. Loved the track. She is 🔥😍
uauuuuuuu. Now i understand. Not all because some technicalities are out of my reach. But I get the idea. Impresive. Congratulations.

Thank you Step1! Great stuff! :)
Chidisima 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍💓
Great setup and beats!
really great video! tnx for everthing ableton!
Since Serato can use the Tidal library for scratches, I'd love to be able to record something from the library and use it on the Push instead of vinyl
Love this jam. Step rox.
Amazing.
its incredibly complicated for me but i loved it
Bit too clever for me too, but great
Great Stuff Ableton & Dj Step1 ✌🏽
Thank you. Great demo 👩🏻💻
Very inspirational
Awesome, thank you.
Great job👍

Amazing!

Epic! 😮
She makes it look so simple man, but I guess it's time to dive in and get one and try and follow her lead!
Pretty cool stuff. More software oriented; using an iPad and Laptop, but it was interesting watching how you did things. Thanks.
Awesome!
super cool
That missing piece of the Midi foot controller is a must! make me think of Richie's technique with controlling the delay time. √
one word from me in Indonesia .... wow so cool
I'm considering a foot pedal now. Clever
Lot of thanks for revealing your tricks¡!!
Nicely explained
Brilliant
How does one get a pad sample onto vinyl? Do they sell vinyls will a bunch random different samples on them or can you send audio out to the turntable via ableton +. a dummy plate?
fck, why why ? I wanna cry! This is so great, good lesson! We need more!)
Definitely
2:39 Nektar Pacer MIDI Foot Controller - www.nektartech.com/pacer-midi-daw-footswitch-controller.html
absolute -- Bad-Ass-ness,, i don't use it for live circumstances at all but,, great to see how intricate it all is,, - thanks for the breakdown,,
Very cool.
Awesome! A rep for you
Nice!
Her BBC DP clips on Only Fans are top notch!
How long did it take to figure all that out? I'm still trying to connect my dj808 and mpk225 to ableton and serato dj like this. Thanks for sharing the video every little bit helps.

Very nice work. Are you on a single laptop, or running a hidden Mac mini for Serato?
Hello, I really liked your presentation. How do you connect pedals?
Hi, for connecting Pedals to Push, please refer to this article in our Knowledge Base: bit.ly/3Zul314 Thank you!
Anyone knows what turntable is being used here?
NICE mam
what audio interface would be good for this? looking to buy one.
Interesting!

Unit27 thx, so you think this is how she did it?

Quantizing?

2:48 It makes perfect sense now, I was wondering how she triggered recording without pushing the record button on Ableton Push
Footswitch. She even mentions it. Specifically a midi foot controller. 2:26
12 pedal switches, daymmmm
can a 900 Nexus2 serve as my audio interface for a setup like this ? PLX-1000 turntable deck 2, and the Push 2 line out into deck 3's line input ? using Serato. Thanks
what camera do you use?
Step1 Push 2 Perform well
Foot pedals! ...and she did it in heels!
How are you live scratching on ableton
Muy bueno
Wow
where is possible download vocal chop like these?
[/Glomp] Let's Jam! ❤️

Does anyone have a easy instant fix for this cos that’d be super useful (sarcasm) haha
sickk
Wow. jJust wow
can I do that with Ableton Push 1???
