This is really cool. It only recently occurred to me that convolution reverbs with IRs might be available in pedal format. I've always loved the idea of being able to virtually locate your performance in a real space. And IRs are of course really great for guitar loudspeaker system emulation. I might need two of these, one for cab sim, the other for reverb.
Would you consider making other kinds of "modeling" pedals/modules? There a lot of interesting work being done with neural amp/circuit modeling that would suit what you all have done in the past
This looks amazing. Controls are well though out, the high-pass is great to have, as well as pre-delay, position, attack decay etc. Can we have balanced ins and outs please? Also would be great to have a few small room reverb presets, low decay time - seems like a type of reverb something that few reverb fx units have (obviously the long lush sounds are great and we need those as well but they are not always useful in a mix context). What's the sample rate / bit depth? Ready to order this when it comes out....
Thanks for your kind words. Bit depth is 24 bit and sample rate is 48 kHz. The ins and outs are unbalanced. It's hard to make it balanced at this price point. We ship the Integral with a lot of presets including smaller rooms and such + you can always load your own impulses.
@@TastyChips We don't know price point yet, but this will be quite a unique pedal and should hopefully sell well given its uniqueness, with some good marketing. If you have a good Lexicon IR then it starts to compare with CXM1978. I'd happily pay a higher price for a Pro version. Balanced in and out, higher sample rates, more on-board storage, usb connection to load IRs from computer. However, as it stands currently its still a great product and I'll most likely get one
looks and sounds great! i can't see any LPF or highs dampening param. I like my reverbs dark and it's crucial for a reverb effect. Am i missing something?
There's no LPF. Indeed it depends if you want brighter or darker. The HPF was essential, because otherwise your ears will take off. An impulse sample can be quite dark already, but agreed it's an extra step to edit it on PC/Mac. An LPF can probably be added to the menu in a firmware update.. It's computationally cheap, and it will easily fit in the menu.

Very exciting device! I would *love* to hear some examples of the expression pedal functionality in action. What can the expression pedal be used to affect? (Like, which parameters/knobs does/can it correspond to? Can it control multiple params/knobs at once?)

Recording your voice on the Integral is great fun. Record your voice and then run drums through it.. for instance, or what is done here in the video. But anyway, you'll need an external mic and pre-amp before sending it to the Integral.

Yes, very close. The firmware is newer and there's a line / instrument switch.. and an analog bypass option. all the things you'd expect on a pedal. there's a bunch more samples on the internal storage too.

@@TastyChips I found videos, I really want one! I had an idea for it actually, if there is enough memory, keep a buffer (with feedback like a delay?) of the aux in, and use that as the impulse "live" if that is possible it would be like a crazy vocoder.
Seeing the thumbnail, I expected a granular pedal, making up for the desperately missing audio input of the GR1 and skipping the awkward file structure. 😢

The menu words are like baby sardines packed tightly in the world's smallest tin. And while I felt like hissing at the NAMM presenters for GPU MIR software, I have to admit it sounded hella clear compared to this pedal. I understand that they're repurposing crypto mining gear to be utilized for the arts, but still, the clarity and spaciousness was outstanding. My caveat is that most of these examples seemed to be aimed at the kind of people who are used to the muddy, smeared sound of a guitar amp... and those people want this pedal mostly to replace amp/cab AND a little bit of room (depending on how far from the cab was the mic)... so you'd focus many demos on showing that aspect. So, I'll withhold judgement in my mind, about how hifi and rich stereo this thing can sound, until further demos. Luckily, you can't "just buy" any of the pedals this is competing with, for my money, yet (or this one, either) so I can wait for more demos. The Eventide's UI is trending downwards with me, the more vids I watch🤪. Maybe the tiny words here won't be an issue? We'll see🙃 oh that's a lame pun. Sorry.
I know those aren't the same exact type of pedal... I look for inspiring sounds, mostly for keyboards and synths, not necessarily as a guitar front end (though I'd try it for that, sure) and not to use for a specific sound needed for a covers project. So, I can be open about my next fx choice. I've got the basics covered already.
@@TastyChips For each convolution path or total? Also, for true stereo IRs, is the order of the info in the wav file L-L,R-R, L-R,R-L ? Essentially, is it the same order as displayed on the pedal? The reason I am asking as I have been programmatically creating novel IRs and want to make sure I properly account for the expected order of the channel info in the wav files I create.

Honestly the sampling rate is fine. I have the eurorack version of this and it sounds breathtaking.

While I find the rawness charming it would be a bit odd if there was a high pass and no low pass

Mappings are Xfade, Wet Level, Pitch, and envelope start Position in the sample.

Both wav and aiff are fine indeed.
Curious about this pedal, does it has a dedicated on and off switch? The screen seems very dull, next to the GR-1.
The screen needs to be viewed from the top. We've added brightness tweaking features to make it more readable from an angle too.

Thanks. The exp pedal input is meant for a pot. CV will not work unless you're into hacking. If you want CV control, consider our ECR+ module.
