Dear Joseph, This CVRT Sultan was somewhat of a bathtub but it’s clever that you guys got the army vehicle running again so she can be added to your battalion. I think you already own more in the meantime than the Dutch army😂. Look forward to your next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands
Those 12V cummins engines are super extremely popular here in Canada people buy whole dodge rams for them. Thats a 94 to 97 P pump. In my opinion thats the best engine ever made. You can make a 100hp for free out of that by grinding the fuel pin and adjusting the star wheel. On marketplace place here they only last about a day for 2500$ CAD. My buddys got a 97 dodge ram with a 12V 5.9 and its got 1.5 million kilometers on it as a semi truck tire repair service on the 401. Totally loyal except for the stupid auto trans which was swapped to manual.
The CVRT Sultan with the air cooled bilge pump is incredibly rare. Big thanks to Joe for doing the crappy bits Jack would normally be doing. And for Adam's continued support...... 🏅 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
"This is the alternator." Yes...in my native tongue we call that the spoolie-boy lol. In all seriousness it's wild that besides that plate the turbo is right by your face if you just so happen to be sitting there. Must sound intense during "spirited maneuvers". 👍
I used to be attached to the Army Air Corps and they used sultans as radio command vehicles. On exercises in Germany they would break down on the way out, the vehicle mechanics would work on it all week, just for it to break down on the way back. They covered far more miles on the back of trailers than they did under their own power.
90's vintage technology ......hardcore , no computer , ECU stuff to ruin your day . Just the cheapest contractor that built it with the cheapest parts and the cheapest way , with the biggest short cuts going !!! . Jokes aside it started after a hell of a long time , not bad . Great Video as always .
Strange that they moved the location of the heater. Usually next to DIP. Love CVRT i did the last CVRT senior instructor course and taught mr baker everything he knows 😂😂
She sounds great to be honest and im amazed after such a long time left and not serviced or looked after . Pretty good I would say , cool video as always .

Ahh! the old 'beat the sh#t out of the starter until the brushes wiggle through a contact' trick! I've used it a LOT. My tightwad, broke teenager older brother hedged on replacing or rebuilding the one on his '55 Chevy until I finally pulled the power off it the last time he sent me under to bash it, the next time I was under it I was putting the starter in, ending my non remunerated career as starter basher on THAT car. 😁 👍🇺🇸😎
Hi you guys had a idear for putting new tracks on tank ..lay track out pull tank on track pick up end lift to sprocket fix to chain that runs over the top of idlers as you pull tank on track pull chain holding track with flt over rollers as tank comes forward the track will not be so hard to move with most of it is on.ps love watching you guys funny between you jokes etc keep it up
great work lads, when you want to do a vintage post war tractor edition gimme a shout, my dad has 18 up in Derbyshire, we could do a mega will they start episode :D
Heaters and crew comfort was never a consideration in the British Army. If the Sultan had one, its because it was usually full of Ruperts' and Rodneys' A few vehicle classes were wired for heated suits but I never saw one in 16 years.
Hey Joe, seriously think you should do a competition where someone can come stay over a night and work on the tanks with you. I’m war obsessed, DIY obsessed, tool obsessed. Needle gunning. Paint masking, rust removal, anything would be excellent for the experience 👍🏻
Is that an M816 with the crane? Or the earlier M543 petrol powered? Sounds like a Cummins. I used to be a mechanic in the Australian army we used them as recovery vehicles, ended being replaced by Macks with a twin boom instead of a crane. Have worked on both, much preferred the Cummins powered 816, only ever saw one 543, it wasn't operational.
Young man, I was wondering where that water came from. I'm relatively certain that it didn't co.e from one of the cooling hoses because it wasn't green. So, where did it come from? Was it from one of the compartments in that tracked military vehicle? I'm not able to think of any other place than those two.
Hi i have question. What is top speed of new diesel cvrt compare to older petrol cvrt . Because diesel engine max rpm is 2200 - 2500 and jaguar j60 petrol engine can rev up to 6500 rpm .my big question is how diesel cvrt can keep up speed of 50 MPH.is gear mesh in diffential crown wheel and punion changed or gearbox ratio is changed. Thanks
CVRT with a diesel engine not a jag j60.. when did the engine go from petrol to diesel? stonker of a video, chaps. All the best to Jack, holding our breath til the great announcement next Monday. cute cent flash at the end there.
Think RAF Reg held on to the petrol version for a while longer as it was quicker, so better for quick response on airbases. J60s is how I learnt points/timing/carburettors as a VM. Lots of back firing.
I watched grand prix the other night for the first time. They had a big close up of a smiths guage actually working. I laughed then hit my bong again.
🤣🤣
@@MrHewes it must of been movie magic

Yes, my friend, the chances of it starting just went up significantly. :D
Should have celebrated with a pint of dickins
Dear God , mr Hewes is the only interesting thing to watch these days !, carry on the great work lads 👍
Always amazed at how folks pay thousands for vacation. I would pay to vacation at your place and get filthy while doing good work.
We have that already in UK they called Romanians
Wives are the reason why, most men would be happy with a night down the pub.
British light tanks live rent free in my brain.
Damn.. the Foden looks nice.
She does look rather sexy in her new clothes!

Along with the bowser
Why did the AAC use them as command vehicles? Is it because the Sultan is a command vehicle?
All those racks held radios @@johnnunn8688
So true @@peterbird8161
Indeed they did I was a sultan driver in Germany AAC in the 80’s
Used to crew/cmd one of these (scimitar version) when they had the jag 6 pot in them....for some reason the speed limiter was always broken.....
Incredible camera clarity. big news next week, Jack has had is breast enlargement
Has to be THE most reliable engine ever fitted to a piece of British armor.

Darth Foden is looking sharp!! Great work!
Great job!. Really look foreward to these vids. An education and a laugh!. Nice one!. Nuff said!

Imagine a heated suit made by Joe Lucas, Prince of Darkness?
Anyone for fried Rupert?
Wouldn't be so sure, hard to get ignition with 1 candle power, which of course was reserved for Land Rover headlights.
