  • From plywood sheets to the final product. Follow the birth of the 800 series Signature.
My first stereo system consisted of the Bowers & Wilkins 685. So to be invited to the Worthing, UK factory is a dream come true. The new B&W 800 series Signature is really the best that they make. The amount of dedication is absolutely noticeable.

One of the most beautiful & prestigious speakers with extreme high quality sound to boot.

I think I speak for a lot of people who would agree that B+W cabinets and enclosures are probably the best and most renowned in the industry - I personally find the sound a little too neutral and uninvolving - but the cabinets are the boss for sure - thanks for posting. I use Monitor Audio Platinum PL500II's a huge speaker at 1.8 metres tall as it has for me more dynamism when paired with Cambridge Edge Monos - but I do appreciate the work B+W do - excellent

Oh wow those Monitor Audio are amazing. I agree with you on the neutral side but in my opinion if you pair them with the right electronics they come very much alive. With that i mean loads of extra power. This is i think for all B-W speaker series.

@@cornelistinga I absolutely 100% agree with you - the difficulty or enjoyment perhaps is twiddling and tweaking to find the right balance - I would say that the right B+W system would sound infinitely better than what I have achieved with such simplicity of componentry - It's just that I know I am not the right person to do that. A very very long time ago I heard a sound that to this day I know I could never realistically achieve save for a lottery win. I used to work at a small English Hi-Fi shop selling mid to high range stuff - some esoteric but mostly day to day NAD, Audiolab, Linn, Naim and a million zillion different speakers - but one dy I got the chance to listen to this: Infinity IRS V's plugged into 4 Mono Mark Levinson Amps, fed by a Krell CD player with an Audio Research SP9 Valve Pre. "Right prepare yourselves we were told" the next thing that happened was Tracy Chapmans For My Lover hitting me full on iin the face whilst simultaneously smashing her guitar over my head. And I had heard some pretty beefy systems up to that point. This was on another level, interplanetary - now I hear that Paul from PS Audio has left the company and has teamed up to re-iamgine the IRSV's in a new form with the original drawings and the original designer and they are now called Genesis Advanced Electronics - look up Genesis Prime and you will see what I am talking about - then look up the price and you will see why in some ways I want them but also in some ways I don't!!!!! Sometimes you have to leave the dream unfulfilled in order to keep on dreaming!!! Yes they really are (FROM!!) $680,000.00 a set - (not a pair as you get four towers) - but I will never forget the sound I heard - and nor will anyone else who has heard or been lucky enough to own them.

Thanks Bowers and Wilkens for making my cheap Samsung earbuds sound so much better. I’ve listened to thousands of speakers through my headphones and it’s never sounded like this

It really depends on the electronics heavily. But in my opinion the Signature 801 absolutely moved me. And i think that is what it is all about.
