Carolyn, this is an absolutely awesome video of your farm and daily life, please do more videos like this. I have been watching for years and I love seeing the daily lives and things that need to be done in a real life view. Thank you for all that you do to educate others... God Bless and thank you.
I'm a couple days late watching this video, and I don't comment often, but I have to say I REALLY enjoyed this video. Such a beautiful family!!! I loved getting a glimse into your everyday life on a farm. And baby Nathaniel is so big now! You're raising a wonderful family and you should be very proud. I hope you do some more videos like this in the future.
Kids becoming adults is bittersweet for sure; hard to adapt to not being needed anymore. Thanks for the glimpse into your house and yard. Hope your frosty morning turned out to be not too cold.
Absolutely love this "Day in the Life" style of video. I learned so much seeing live images of the systems you and Josh have been talking about for so many years. What a delight. If it's in the plans, I would love to see more videos like this, even during the winter months - so educational! Thank you and your entire family for how much you share with us all. It's good to see your money-making efforts with the animals and things like School of Traditional Skills, but I am also so grateful for the massive amount of information you share for free as part of your family's ministry. Blessings to you all.
So nice to watch this video.🙂 It’s been missed; seeing a simple video about what’s doing on, on your homesteading. I think these simple videos give me more encouragement to keep going!
Oh my goodness I love that each of your kids either look exactly like you or exactly like your husband. They are adorable! Love this video and everything you and your husband do for your family. Definitely amazing role models for your children and us! Thank you😊
I learn so much from you & Appreciate all you teach & how you teach❤ But these day in the life - seeing some of those lessons in real-time life at work is Fun & Fabulous!!
And here I thought you would be able to relax. Here in SoCal, I finally finished cold season planting. We had a hot spell so it was delayed planting 2 weeks. We still have tomatoes too, since we don’t get frost until December. We also haven’t harvested sweet potatoes and cassava roots yet, since we want them as large as possible before we harvest. I also finished ordering our meat birds for next year, and this year’s birds are in the freezer. Now I just have to figure out how to press sugar canes without a press. It’s great to see what you all are doing this time of year.
I think this is the first video I've seen of your homestead! Please make more! Idaho is so beautiful! P.S. I'm still loving your Homesteading Monthly Magazine!
Thank you for the great video. I do have one question about the hoof trimming. I noticed it appears the cows got their hoofs trimmed, but the sheep did not. Was that just not included in the video for time constraints, or do the sheep just not get their hoofs trimmed? Much appreciated.
Please excuse my ignorance here, there is no judgement meant by my question at all, Im Just curious, with the detox you guys have endured why you feel good about using the heat/shrink wrap bags with your poultry? Im not a fan of plastic touching my food, that being said there isn’t a lot of good options for maintaining food in the deep freezer. When butchering our birds I have opted to use a vacuum sealer. Yes still wrapped in plastic, but I feel marginally safer about it than using heated plastic. Vacuum seal bags have limitations as well, any of our birds that are closer to 7lbs don’t fit, however thats how we choose which birds get parted out ( legs, thighs, wings, tender loin & breasts. The nice part is I immediately have a bunch of carcasses to go with the feet and necks and start working on getting bone broth and meat stock for canning. By no means am I suggesting my way is better, Im asking because I’m truly interested in your experience and decision making process.
I'm thinking of getting turkeys for my homestead. Do you have to trim their wings to keep them from flying over the electric fence, or are they not able to make it up that high? Thanks!
I am so concerned when families show their children for the whole world to peer in... this once was sweet to see them all. Keep them private... you have a red head! I'm partial to them... I've got 3..
In today’s wacky world it is so refreshing to see a beautiful, busy and happy family working on a farm! Bless you all.

TPMS sensor will react as tire pressure goes down because of your colder weather. Later today it will no doubt be off👍🏻

Awesome video! Love this style. Your children are so cute.
A heated jacket is worth it's weight in gold!
I bet your turkeys and chickens are very tasty. I would love to learn how to process them.
The HoofGP is one of my favorite channels.

Josh is He-Man out there in a short sleeved shirt...LOL!
I enjoyed your video. Very well done.
Thank you for watching!
I'm a fan of the HoofGP, a Scottish hoof trimmer. His crush (the squeeze shoot) is different. But it's so essential for cows to have good feet.
I think this is the first video I've seen of your homestead! Please make more! Idaho is so beautiful! P.S. I'm still loving your Homesteading Monthly Magazine!
June bug says "Where is my treat?"
❤❤🙏🙏xxoo
So wonderful! Do you make turkey bone broth?
Yes, we do! It is the best!
How in the world is baby Nathaniel walking already, he was just born.
Love your channel 🎉what do you sell your processed chickens and turkey?
Thank you for the great video. I do have one question about the hoof trimming. I noticed it appears the cows got their hoofs trimmed, but the sheep did not. Was that just not included in the video for time constraints, or do the sheep just not get their hoofs trimmed? Much appreciated.
Love your channel 🎉how much do you sell you chickens and turkeys for. Also what plucker do you have.😊
Email us at joshandcarolyn@homesteadingfamily.com for more info. Thanks!
I had 4 turkey poults. They were doing great..till they all died over a 48 hr period... So I was forced to purchase a grocery store bird..

I signed up for your freeze drying class but i didn’t get my email.

Dang u didn’t show how to remove feathers….
That tumble device and hot water dip removes them. They showed both of those things 😊
@ oh I c I just didn’t go back far enough the 2nd time. Expected to c it in process but u probably can’t do that on utube.
Killing sentient, souled beings is not a good look. Repulsive to some of us. Posing next to a carcass? 🤢 Ex farm girl here. Glad I woke up.
Why come to this video to complain? Just move on.
