Even with its few flaws, it's Hitchcock's most underrated film. Anyone agree?
Don't think Hitchcock thought too much about it either. LOVE the story, and it was Milland's greatest performance. Yes, better than lost Weekend. This one not only stands the test of time, his character portrayal is so powerful today, after so many years. What a character he created.
I do! It has powerful entertainment value.
The movie is outstanding, but why not give the hitman a duplicate key instead of taking it out of his wife's purse? The most glaring script error is this.
@@dialmformurder9071 yes, but with that there is no play, and no film. There are a few other problems you just have to forgive, and just enjoy
@@dsdave07 Yes. So very entertaining. My most watched Hitch film. Watched it more than Psycho and The Birds put together. At the very least 20 times. Just love the story and especially the characters. They're almost like family...almost, but I feel at home everytime I see it
I don't anyone who didn't like Grace.
She was stunning +_+
martel732 and Gene Tierney & Audrey Hepburn.. 3 of my favourites 😊
@John Power And you are someone who jumps upon any understandable typo or mistake to then make a nasty superior comment. I'm sure Grace would never have done such a thing.
Judy Garland fans.
True master class movie. I like it so much💯
What is really shocking for me is that if I were one of the judges I would surely have thought she is guilty and sentenced her to dead (if that were what the law required).
They did sentence her to death.
I don't think so. The judge should have understood that if she had been the killer, would have taken the letter out of Swann's pocket.
Inspector's role was good 👍
He actually originally played the inspector in the theater version of the movie before the movie. Then they insisted he should do the same in the film :) Bravo to him!
@@foisdequoi he's really good in To Catch a Thief as well
@@umangu I really don't remember his acting in that film. Though, his portrayal of the dear father role in Sabrina will always stay close to my cinephile heart.
@@umangu thanks for pointing this out. I will take a look at this movie again. In the first time that I watched, I wasn't quite taken by the movie. Maybe the second time will do a charm.
Love the Inspector.
Loved watching this in the afternoon. When TV channels would air theatrical releases. Falling on the scissors and the musical crescendo.
The underscoring in this scene is brilliantly subtle.
Inspector is great.
I love this film.
Yeah they should have thought how Tony would be trying to secretly frame her.
Me gusta el hombre de la policía!! ;)
It is underrated I think, and while it may be a notch below top-tier Hitchcock, it's very good and its plot mechanics extremely clever.
I never knew Robert Cummings was so handsome.
Never saw a picture of him when he was young.
Did know Robert Cummings was so handsome.
Good actor.
