Hi Timothy...another excellent video fully demonstrating the set of features available in the mode. Just one query...at 5:37 you move the left stick down to, you say, lower the altitude. But according to the screen help at 3:39, that movement should actually increase the radius.
Hey Tim. Glad you are giving us some more Mavic Pro Tutorials. I have the Mavic and I have been able to fly it a little bit but the winter has hit us hard up here in Canada so I haven't gotten to explore all of the features yet. So your channel is helping me learn without the flying. My channel is more of a sailing focussed channel but I use drone videography all the time. The Mavic is going to replace the Q500 4K that I shot my first season with. I can't wait to shoot the 1000 Islands area next season with the Mavic and I love how I can take it anywhere without a hassle. Plan to take it with me to the BVIs in Feb to go sailing on a Catamaran. I couldn't take the big Q on the plane as carry on luggage. You have a new subscriber. Keep up the good work. Craig
I really like the way you describe things so that a newbie can understand. I agree with Gadget Inspector that you should try out 1080p sixty frames per second. I'd like to see if it's really a problem with this drone. I don't know why, I'll be shooting thirty fps when I get mine.
I've only had my Mavic for a couple of weeks but I've been watching your videos for close to a month now. They're very helpful to new owners and flyers.
Another good video Timothy. Loving the instructional nature and how you are focused not really on the Drone itself, but how to capture the footage. Nice work. Clay
I really would like to see some of the settings on the MAVIC Pro and exactly what they do. You have covered camera settings beautifully and the special features as well. I would really like to see what some of the other settings. Thanks!
Hi Timothy, I subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago. I'm getting ready to order my Mavic Pro Platinum and my choice of drones was because of your videos. I really like your videos as a learning source because you cover the topics thoroughly and completely. You don't try to be funny or repeat things over and over like some reviewers I've watched, or should I say, tried to watch. I usually have to stop watching the videos because of their presentation style. I've made up my list of accessories for the Mavic based on your reccomendations. Loved the videos on intelligent flight modes and filters. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching. Thanks for all your hard work, Darrell Judah
Thanks, Darrell! So glad that the content is helpful to you. Hope you'll consider using the links in my descriptions to order as it's a free way to help support my efforts here on the UA-cams
Another very informative video. I find it interesting that DJI chose to use the right stick for rotating the craft during this function. You would have thought that they would have wanted to stay consistent using the left stick so as not to get confusing. I'd like to know if there is a way to easily shut the ultrasonic sensors off on the bottom so you can hand grab the drone for landing without it pulling away. I'm up here in the "great white north" and would like to grab it out of the air and not worry about snow when I land.
Hello Timothy. Great videos watched most of the Mavic Pro ones. Please when you have a chance may be you can do a tutorial in depth for the DJI GS Pro. Many thanks.
Good info; thanks. Disappointed that at 7:30, you cut out how to return to the POI controls. For an 'advanced POI', could you cover (if it is possible) how to approach a POI, circle it, then leave the POI. Example: follow a road, circle a building, then resume following the road.
nice tutorial. one of my next golf course or Tesla videos will certainly use that feature (I had some problems getting the PoI right, but thanks to your tutorial it should work now)
Very well explained video Tim. Most UA-camrs just tell without actually showing you. I was so stumped as im a new to the Mavic pro but this vid has opened my eyes. Great job. New sub man
Great videos - thanks! I just purchased my Mavic so these are going to be very helpful. I love your energy! Id like to see a video of the Mavic doing some tight maneuvers - inside would be great. I have a friend who actually flies his Phantom in houses for Real Estate tours. I bet this would do it better. Again, thanks and thanks to your wife for putting up with you.
Great Video - very helpful ! Would you happen to know if there is a mode of function whereby you can lock the gimbal on a particular point in a frame and the move the drone towards , away above or around that point and the gimbal will stay locked on the point? Currently if you have to fly toward a point of interest e.g. a house - you have to use the rocker controller to time the pan of the gimbal to manually keep the point of interest centered. Would be great if there was an automated way to this so you could focus on the flying and the gimbal would lock itself? Many thanks in advance !
hi Timothy . ive got a mavic and have just tryed flying it without using a smart phone and it works a treat. maybe you could do a video showing people this ...
Just received my Mavic here in the UK. Thanks for the Video was a great help. Downloaded the manual but it is so full of technical info, I find a face to face tutorial so much better. This is my 3rd machine - Yuneec and DJI so I have a little experience. Poor forecast for the am so I will use this day to learn. Where is the rest of your stuff ? I have subscribed. Brian
I never expected a reply so thank you very much - Nobody seems to have given a tutorial on how to set the camera up on the App and the controller. I am talking about ,shutter adjustment in flight, the ISO, zooming etc. I will check your earlier videos to see if you have covered this. Thanks again Brian Devon, UK
I like your vids, thankyou timothy, Very informative looking forward to getting out and trying these flight modes had my mavic 2 weeks and its rained ever since!!
Your informative videos have been tremendous source of learning all the features of MP. Thank you. One quick question, is it possible to set a timer for photo mode and if yes, is it possible to set photo shots at intervals? Thanks.
I got this mode confused with active track's orbit and ended up no getting what I wanted on a film shoot. Thanks for clarifying this! Super excited to go back and correct my shot.
Great use of this feature! Also like the way you explain things, really easy to learn new stuff. Great "Mavic"-series, always looking forward your next one. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Tim, have you got any tips or tricks on reverse flying to get those great shots of the drone flying backwards. So that you can film while panning out and opening up the frame to see all the scenery? Thanks in advance Dan
3:50 Those are reversed (throttle right instead of left) for POI like Mode1 instead of Mode2. But your actions were as if Mode2. Did something accidentally get reversed when you were filming the settings?
Great video series - Question though - In Point of Interest mode, does the point of interest have to be a physical object OR can it just be a point on the ground? i.e. Is the control based on GPS or optical recognition?
well made tutorials! is there a way to call back the drone to the remote control (not the take off point) have you allready made a tutorial about it? cheers
Hey Timothy, I have a couple of questions concerning the Mavic and Point of Interest. First, when in the POI mode, what is the lowest altitude the Mavic will maintain when you have it set to orbit the POI ? Second, what is the smallest diameter orbit will it make around the POI ? Keep up the great videos and appreciate any info on the above questions, thanks much in advance.
Tim good job! I would like to use the Mavic for hiking and running. I saw your video tracking the car but was wondering if you self track what do you do with the controller? Do you have to hike or run with it in your hand? Keep up the good video's.
Do you still fly the Mavic Pro. I have a Mavic Mini, but am wanting features like the Mavic Pro. I'm thinking of buying a used one. Sure do love that location of yours - just so private and peaceful looking. Thanks for the demonstration & sharing.
Hey Tim! Thanks for the video! Question - what button did you press to change the IOS? And that would be useful if flying during sunsets right? We're heading to El Nido, Philippines in couple days. Sucks that we decided to get a drone last minute since we don't have much time to practice ahhh
hey great job....can you show us to play with the camera settings to get the best cool shots?? i want to see focus on one object and fade out the back ground.....also, how do we make cool tutorials like you...how do you edit the software to show real time.. DJI app SCREEN ETC...
Thanks for a very helpful tutorial and especially appreciate the tips on looking other directions during the POI mode. It would be nice if there was a way to easily and temporarily switch the sticks into cinematic mode while in POI mode. I suppose that practice makes perfect but I sure have a hard time not ending up with quick direction and gimbal changes, and usually in the wrong direction first.
Tim Great Stuff! As a filmmaker I'd like to see how those modes can be utilized to create cinematic techniques in place of a jib or crane also following actors at eye level and using it indoors. There's a whole universe of us interested in that. Looking forward to it.
Hi Tim thank you for your video. Is it possible to fly away from point of interest, leaving it behind you . Using tap or trace or spot light or profile? Before I buy this I wanted to know if i can fly away (backwards) from point of interest not towards it? Thanks in advance
These videos are awesome. I am also interested in learning about some of the follow features if I am alone. I am a dancer/choreogrpaher, is it would be amazing if I could work the Mavic on my own without having to hire too many people to accompany me. Any thoughts ?
Timothy - thanks for the videos ..... I am just trying to decide whether to buy a Mavic, so very helpful. I see you use a Samsung phone with it and my question, does the connection with the controller come with adapters as Samsung have a unique connection (flat with a groove in it)

Timothy,
You rock, you have the best and most comprehensive channel to watch and learn on the Mavic Pro.
Thank you for that!
I've only had my Mavic for a couple of weeks but I've been watching your videos for close to a month now. They're very helpful to new owners and flyers.
Sweet! Glad to be of help! Happy Flying! 💥👊
Another good video Timothy. Loving the instructional nature and how you are focused not really on the Drone itself, but how to capture the footage. Nice work. Clay
By far the best tutorials on the Mavic I've seen!
Great insight to this particular flight mode. You make it look so easy. TY for sharing & informing!
I really would like to see some of the settings on the MAVIC Pro and exactly what they do. You have covered camera settings beautifully and the special features as well. I would really like to see what some of the other settings. Thanks!
Helpful video. Thanks for making it for us!
I m going to try the POI mode right now...:-)

Been using the I1 for two years and just ordered the Mavic Pro for video. Love your training so far! Thanks for taking the time to help us out.
Great video. This was very helpful. I tried to use this mode yesterday but I didn't do the first step on being over the POI.
Glad to help! Happy Flying!
Thanks for the great tips. I will be trying them today.
Happy Flying!
Man I love your tutorial videos! I just ordered my Mavic last night. I'm really learning a lot from your videos. Please keep up the great work!
Never fail to impress! Great tips and tricks. Thanks!
Best video on POI, Tim. You did a great job of explaining it, congrats!
6:03 put more of the post production vids that look super cool !
Thank you Tim. I am just starting with my Mavic. First fly about 5 days ago. Sorry for what happened in Guatemala.

Would love to know more about indoor flying for sure man! Your series is rocking, Tim.
Hello Timothy. Great videos watched most of the Mavic Pro ones. Please when you have a chance may be you can do a tutorial in depth for the DJI GS Pro. Many thanks.
This is awesome! I can't wait to get home and try it! Yet another great video Tim!

You make great, informative videos. Keep up the good work. You are likable, and a great communicator
first time I've seen this panning away from the POI - Thanks and good job!
Timothy - your videos are epic! Keep up the good work with this fantastic drone series! Can't wait for the next one !
Very well explained video Tim. Most UA-camrs just tell without actually showing you. I was so stumped as im a new to the Mavic pro but this vid has opened my eyes. Great job. New sub man
Great Job Tim! All Your Mavic tutorials are very helpful. I'm watching since waiting for my own Mavic Pro delivery ;) kind regards!
Great work Timothy! I just got my mavic pro ytd and i did got no idea now to use the POI mode! You save my life man
You do a great job explaining each mode of operation! Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching!

Happy i bought the mavic. Nairobi Kenya
Very useful videos, so thank you! I would interested to see how well the mavic could be used as a hand held gimbal and how that would be done.
hi Timothy . ive got a mavic and have just tryed flying it without using a smart phone and it works a treat.
maybe you could do a video showing people this ...
Timothy"s videos are the very BEST!! THanks Tim!
+john petraitus thanks, John
EXCELLENT work. Very clear instructions.

Thank your for the good explanation and even better good showcase of this function! Keep up the good work!
Good job Timothy. What happens if you fly behind a tree line or building? Will it return to home, or will it loose contact?
if it does lose signal, it will automatically return to home. Check out my video on the return to home feature to learn more!
Love the dual views of vid and controller!!
Cheers Tim great video I will try this out on our local mill 👍🏻.
love your videos, im learing alot from you guys, cant wait to buy one!
I like your vids, thankyou timothy, Very informative looking forward to getting out and trying these flight modes had my mavic 2 weeks and its rained ever since!!

Great! Thanks for the good explanations. Now i understand how it works! Greetings from the Swiss mountains
Greetings! I've been the swiss alps! Lake Geneva is one of my favorite places on earth! Would love to return one day!
Got really tired of using active track to get this shots. Really nice tutorial, it helped me a lot. I highly appreciate it. Thx!
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Hey Tim, have you got any tips or tricks on reverse flying to get those great shots of the drone flying backwards. So that you can film while panning out and opening up the frame to see all the scenery?
Thanks in advance
Dan
Thanks for the very interesting videos. With regards to the Micro cards for the Mavic Pro, Is the a special type I should buy? Thank you.
Just recorded a video on that. I'll be posting it ASAP
Fantastic! I got my Mavic Pro today, can't wait to use it more!! Thank's for the tips dude!
3:50 Those are reversed (throttle right instead of left) for POI like Mode1 instead of Mode2. But your actions were as if Mode2. Did something accidentally get reversed when you were filming the settings?
Quite straight forward sir, thanks and keep it up.
Nice tutorial! I really like the POI Look away. I hadn't considered that but, I will definitely use it now. Thanks!
Great and thank you.
Gongatulations Timothy. You have a very nice and simple way to explain the item. Thanks
Thanks!
Great video series - Question though - In Point of Interest mode, does the point of interest have to be a physical object OR can it just be a point on the ground? i.e. Is the control based on GPS or optical recognition?
Yea, it can be a point on the ground. Doesn't have to be an object
Awesome Video! Can't wait to January 15th when my arrives
Great info and demo! Thanks for sharing!
Great video! I hadn't discovered this setting yet--I've been practicing doing the same moves manually. This is much easier.
Thanks, your videos are very helpful
another great vid Timothy, thanks for taking the time. Really very useful. 👍
Best tutorial ... epic Tim, Thanks so much!
Just subscribed. The tutorial that I've been looking for newbie like me. Thanks a lot for this.
Great video Tim was wondering if you can do one on how to cashe maps . I"ll be flying w/an IPad mini 4 wifi only Thanks!
well made tutorials!
is there a way to call back the drone to the remote control (not the take off point)
have you allready made a tutorial about it?
cheers
Great Video! Does active tracking work in sport mode for fast moving objects?
it sure does!
Great. Thanks again for the great videos.

I'm looking for a new phone and was wondering if you could do a quick survey of the best phone screen to use with the Mavic.
Tim good job! I would like to use the Mavic for hiking and running. I saw your video tracking the car but was wondering if you self track what do you do with the controller? Do you have to hike or run with it in your hand? Keep up the good video's.

Tim - Really love the tutorials you are creating, it's giving me all sorts of great ideas!...and will follow all your links to get the best SD card!
+Saul Arizpe thanks so much!
@@TimothySunday how tight of a circle can be made 10 m radius and 7 m height possible?
Can you show the different color profiles and maybe include best settings for color correction
Hey buddy, I like the videos. Could you make one talking about controlling the camera?
Oh nice!!! Hey can it circle a moving object?
Yes, but that is using Active Track. I have a video on that so check it out!
Thanks for a very helpful tutorial and especially appreciate the tips on looking other directions during the POI mode. definitely want to cover this. Tripod mode is AWESOME for a really cinematic look if your subjects aren't moving too quickly. Try it out.
Hi Tim thank you for your video. Is it possible to fly away from point of interest, leaving it behind you .
Using tap or trace or spot light or profile?
Before I buy this I wanted to know if i can fly away (backwards) from point of interest not towards it?
Thanks in advance
Great tip , could've used that one yesterday.
Thank you very much Timothy! Now i know how to use that mode :D
These videos are awesome. I am also interested in learning about some of the follow features if I am alone. I am a dancer/choreogrpaher, is it would be amazing if I could work the Mavic on my own without having to hire too many people to accompany me.

Great job Tim !!
On the topic of POI , can you set the magic pro to a moving vehicle, as a POI, will it still circle around as it vehicle moves ?
THX for tutorials, help so much !
Thanks for replying so quickly.
Where are you in Tennessee? That's gorgeous!
Timothy - thanks for the videos ..... I am just trying to decide whether to buy a Mavic, so very helpful. I see you use a Samsung phone with it and my question, does the connection with the controller come with adapters as Samsung have a unique connection (flat with a groove in it)
+Chris Wileman the Magic comes with 3 options. Lighting, micro USB, and USB C. So you'll be covered no matter what phone you have.
