My first encounter of racism in my life I was 9 years old, walking home from school and another pupils mum was shouting racial abuse at me in my face screaming at the top of her lungs in front of a lot of people. I continued walking home whilst crying my eyes out. I finally got home and my mum saw & came out of our house and immediately beat this woman up. My mum who was in her 40s at the time a white lady that had never fought in her life being forced the fight because her son was being racially abused in the street. My mum turned to alcohol not long after that. It wasn’t the last time I was racially abused either. I wholeheartedly get where Trevor is coming from.

Trevor is spot on. The Jamie Carragher thing is laughable in comparison to how he's been treated. As with Joey Barton getting backing on a podcast and management opportunities. We're talking about a winger who's played in a World Cup, being passed over on Talksport for someone who ended up at Billericay Town. He'd be more worthy of being on Sky than Micah Richards for starters! Easily, the best winger I've seen live for West Ham (sorry Lazaridis) and have met him a few times. A genuinely nice bloke.

I moved to Blackpool in the 90s and used to Go And watch him play at Bloomfield road. I have vivid memories of him with those dreadlocks running down the wing. He scored a last minute winner away at stoke in March 1993 when Bruce Grobbelaar was on loan for stoke. Stoke top of the league and hadn’t lost at home all season. Blackpool 5th from bottom and that goal ultimately kept Blackpool up. Great days.

@@daboi1663 I know someone just like that. A former 7ft tall guy who's shrunk by at least 5 inches over the years, who looks like Will Smith, and is 1 day older than me, who has... I don't know what his dad looked like, as his dad was either dead or lived elsewhere, however his mixed race mum had very pale skin with freckles, whereas his skin was much darker, as I've already said he looks like Will Smith. One of his grandad's who I never saw (from what I can remember) was apparently like most Chinese men... Not much taller than 5ft according to my mum. All his mates are or were White when I knew him. I never saw him get racially abused at school or at home... Yet I'm fairly sure when I used Facebook daily (7+ years ago) he would be one of the many Black people who complained about apparent racism, posting stories about racism on a daily/weekly basis. @@gerardoconnor1010 He's born in England so is eligible to play for england. How can he be a clown when that is the rules set by the football authorities.
The demise of Trevor Sinclair is proof that unless you forever know your place and are eternally grateful for the white man to give you a opportunity, your vulnerable. Shocked Ian Wright lasted so long
Ian wright's a gentleman. Black people get fast tracked to top jobs in the media, not the opposite. Trevor was just a shit pundit, drunk drove, and racially abused a copper when arrested.... whereas Ian wright's a legend. Nothing about colour. No wonder blacks FEEL suppressed if their whole world's about a skin colour. No1 cares mate it's 2024 lol
Wright had to leave the BBC the first time around because they treated him like a Uncle Tom. It was only after he re established himself on other stations the BBC took him seriously
Seems to have a chip on his shoulder about being black. He hasn't actually been deprived of anything in his life and has had every opportunity to succeed in British society, which he's done, yet still he wants to play victim. I'm not a monarchist by any means but if you say racially divisive things in a derogatory way about a freshly deceased and (rightly or wrongly) much-revered national figurehead, then you can definitely expect a backlash, regardless of what race you are. It has nothing to do with Trevor's skin colour. In fact, Trevor is the one making it about skin colour. Suggesting that all people of any skin tone should all think or feel a certain way IS racism. So is making everything about race. Sinclair is just a privileged race-baiter who fully embraces victimhood culture and victimhood mentality. He got arrested once for drink driving and cried racism, claiming he only got arrested because he was black, later was forced to admit that no, he was just arrested for drink driving, not for having dark skin. That incident says it all about Trevor Sinclair.
Trying to reframe his tweet as a question rather than a statement, given there is no question mark but two exclamation marks, is lamentable. At least own what you are saying and accept the consequences.
Thought you were a little like rabbit in the headlights Ben when the conversation went onto the heavier topics. Personally I would have questioned him as to why he seemed to be taking out on the Queen when she had been instrumental in trying to move the monarchy and commonwealth forward from when it was an empire which was built on taking overcountries, slavery etc.... Backing independence of countries, opening herself to meet IRA heads who had murdered her relatives. The Queen was one to see the wrong doings of the past and kick start apologies and change.
Quite sad that he seems a very bitter man but I can see where he’s coming from regarding the 70s n 80s However his mistakes have nothing to do with his colour just bad choices. Nice fella though
We’ve all got a political viewpoint, about illegal immigrants & having an opposing view to Trevor does not make you a bad person. You can look at some of the issues, they way he has done with blinkers on, what about the helpers to the slave traders, in selling off their own people. This is probably a perfect example of why politics should be kept out of sport!
Half way through this interview and I’m totally impressed by the interviewer and more impressed again by Trevor’s thoughtful response. His response seems sincere; took accountability for his actions. Hope to see more of Trevor in the media and in football.

How do you make a racist remark through lenses… so l can make a racist comment then say from my perspective it wasn’t racist and that would be fine especially if l work in the media which relies on advertising and public opinion!
To make out England is a racist country is ridiculous, racism does exists all over the world between people , lying , stealing, playing a victim are other human traits
England is not racist today but growing up in Trevor's generation England was extremely racist 70s 80s and 90s supported the hideous apartheid era in South Africa, not forgetting the no go zone's of London and violence towards Asians or the national front we encountered in Eltham where you feared for your life coming home from school. Times have changed massively the country has got to be celebrated for it's massive progress and it's finally becoming united kingdom, histories important for the new generation not to make the same mistakes as the past education is important but not to dwell in victimhood but to remember never to return back to the dark old days of blind intolerance and that goes for all shade's of the equation..
The likes of Sinclair is another classic example of growing up with know role models in his life. Another kid with an absent black father born out of a relationship to a white woman.

I think these multimillionaire former footballers should stay in their lane. I would much rather hear the actual opinions of a working class fella of Irish/ Jamaican etc descent talk about his experiences, because i guarantee you at no point in time they would have earnt a stack in the Emirates.
Well said ppl need to think B4 they speak it's fuck all to do with race colour...
@@daboi1663 I know someone just like that.
A former 7ft tall guy who's shrunk by at least 5 inches over the years, who looks like Will Smith, and is 1 day older than me, who has...
English, Irish, Scottish, Jamaican, and Chinese blood from his grandparents.
Do I believe he's ever been racially abused? No, not really.
Would I believe him if he described an occasion when he was? Probably, as he was an honest guy.
Rinsing the Arsenal defence,of course you did 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Respect to you Trevor 👏
Can relate totally understand him good guy
❤❤❤❤love you bro!!!
What an absolute legend. He is so grounded. Somebody I grew up watching and his analysis was always on point. I hope he gets back into media soon. He is way better than the rubbish on the radio and tv now.
So does Trevor think it is unfair or racist to be sacked for getting done for drink driving pissing in a cop car and racially abusing a police officer?

The demise of Trevor Sinclair is proof that unless you forever know your place and are eternally grateful for the white man to give you a opportunity, your vulnerable. Shocked Ian Wright lasted so long
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Spot on
Ian wright's a gentleman.
What about the likes of Keys, Gray, Atkinson, Le Tissier etc
Wright had to leave the BBC the first time around because they treated him like a Uncle Tom. It was only after he re established himself on other stations the BBC took him seriously
Great interview ( the empires over)👍
Seems to have a chip on his shoulder about being black.
What a fantastic and correct comment thank God for someone who articulated it so well👍👏👏👏
Spoken like someone who has never gone through it. Go on living in your own fantasy world 😂
@@GrahamHughes-uc2mdAh look...two bigots found something in common! Shocking!
It’s like he’s interviewing himself Ben can hardly get a word in😕
Which is how interviews should be. We're here to listen to the interviewee, not the interviewer.
Miss listening to Trev on talk sport huge loss to them, seems a top normal northern guy.
No loss whatsoever.
Trying to reframe his tweet as a question rather than a statement, given there is no question mark but two exclamation marks, is lamentable. At least own what you are saying and accept the consequences.
I'm sorry, but if you've not made a racist comment, you defend yourself . Always two sides to every story.
Oh I see Trevor (and many, many, many, many others) should love the oppressor? They should morn the oppressor? GTFOH!
He wasn't even the best Sinclair when he played. It was Frank and that says a lot.
Quite sad that he seems a very bitter man but I can see where he’s coming from regarding the 70s n 80s
However his mistakes have nothing to do with his colour just bad choices.
Nice fella though
Ben take the ads off these , ruins the interview and makes me not want to listen
He's carbon copying Stephen on Diary of a CEO..... only he's not🤣
We’ve all got a political viewpoint, about illegal immigrants & having an opposing view to Trevor does not make you a bad person. You can look at some of the issues, they way he has done with blinkers on, what about the helpers to the slave traders, in selling off their own people.
This is probably a perfect example of why politics should be kept out of sport!
Go read a book cause your 🧠 is soft.
Frank Sinclair-top man
You know he's Trevor right?!
@@nWg2000 lol what do you think?
I hate people who say they talk for all black people
Why?
Because its not the truth
What are you on about? Who said that?
Half way through this interview and I’m totally impressed by the interviewer and more impressed again by Trevor’s thoughtful response. His response seems sincere; took accountability for his actions.
Hope to see more of Trevor in the media and in football.
Good interview but clearly uncomfortable when issues around race was spoken about.
I think Trevor is the love child of Danny Mills and Joey Barton
You might be fully woke but I can inform you that:
A: Two men cannot actually produce children together.
B: Even if they could, how could two white men produce a black child?
He has got three kids at private schools that is a lifestyle choice not a necessity.
Another one who jumps on the racist bandwagon 🤦♂️

Has trevor ever had counselling for grief ?

But Trevor is a convicted racist
