Thanks mate, keep up the good work. I’ve been using Pixel 6 (non Pro) for couple of months and even though I love Pixel experience, I just couldn’t get used to it’s size. I might try Pixel 6a when it’s released, but for now I’m surprisingly happy with Samsung S22 (the smallest one). Side note for those who might be interested - I’m also a Garmin Fenix 6 Pro user and a battery life while using this smartwatch with Android is just spectacular! On IOS I was getting up to 5-6 days of regular use (no GPS), on Android phones (applies equally to Pixel 6 and S22) I’m left with 58% after a week!

I'm currently trying out my first ever iPhone, but if the Pixel 7 Pro builds on the 6 series I'll be very tempted to switch back! Sounds like this is a pretty solid effort, if not without flaws, for their first in hours SoC. I've actually quite liked my iPhone, but the garden walls with Apple do still occasionally get in the way of ancillary product choices.

Thanks 🎺 The phone hasn't been perfect. It's hand hits ups and downs when it first came out but it seems like it's gotten better over time and they fixed the minor things and some of the bigger issues. But I got the pixel 6 pro black one. Same as you

I've had my 6 Pro since November and overall it's been great. I have the occasional issue with the UI where I'm not able to force close apps until I lock the device and then unlock it. I've also had issues with lock screen/drop down notifications needing the same to be done. The only other issue I've had is with the UA-cam app displaying a white line in the middle of the app, and freezing up to a black screen if I exit the app when having paused a video. I then have to force close the app and then reopen it. Other than these minor issues it's been a great phone, and hopefully further updates will only improve the stability.

Hi Damien, I thought this review had some excellent observations. I'm looking at buying it on the used market, and at those prices, it's hard to beat. The camera alone really tips the equation in its favor at these prices. I've looked closely at the iPhone 13, which has excellent fit and finish and better resale value. But I typically use my phone until it breaks, so I'm not interested in resale value. Rather, I'm interested in the utility now. I will miss the face unlock of my Pixel 4xl though. To use a less than capable fingerprint sensor might be really annoying.

Used my 6 pro since release and I have had no issues at all.. whether that be fingerprint, screen refresh rate or sound. I love the pro. Battery life is the one issue that could be better for me... But I still only charge daily.. It just gets too 5% some days.. And I get anxious.

I have maybe had 1 or 2 crashes which I couldn't say weren't down to Android 12 or beta software which I run rather than the phone itself. I have really liked it. With the Bose headphone pre order bundle it was great value imo. If I get a 7 series I am maybe more interested in the 7 this time. I think I would like a smaller phone and with a flat screen. Tempted by the Asus Zenfone 9 for the same reasons.

I have scratches all along the sides/frame, on my 6 Pro. I've had it since launch day, and have never dropped my phone and kept a Google official case on it. My only assumption is that dust and dirt particles got in from the sides of the case, and caused some slight but visible scratches. It really does suck, because the purpose of a case is to protect it from such damage. But overall, the experience has been pleasant and I'm glad I got the Pixel 6 Pro. I do agree that the Pixel 6 has better color options, looks better than the Pro, and feels slightly better to hold.

  • @majestikmoose9

After using both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro extensively, I would actually argue that size shouldn't be a factor at all if you're considering either phone. With the 6 still being a boxy, large phone and the Pro being a marginally slightly larger, curvier phone, it's basically a wash. I think it comes down to: which is better for you in terms of look/feel? Do you need a telephoto camera? Do you need 512GB of storage or 1440p? How important is the display quality to you? For me, the Pixel 6 Pro was absolutely worth it. But I do think most people should consider the standard Pixel 6, as it's arguably the very best phone for the money in 2022.
In regards to the "hollow screen" issue, I've heard this complaint over and over again and I don't have the slightest idea what anyone is talking about. Maybe there's some faulty units being shipped? All I can say is, the build quality on my device is phenomenal and I haven't noticed anything strange aside from a couple occasional bugs here and there (which, from my experience, has been a normal occurrence for every phone).
I also want to point out that the speakers are excellent. Again, maybe there are quality control issues here with a lot of variance in the devices that get shipped. But mine sound superb, better than the last couple Samsung phones I've used and right up there with the iPhone 13.

    • @TheChiraagG
      @TheChiraagG 2 роки тому +2

The hollow screen feel is definitely universal and intended by Google:
"this is something Google did on purpose. The display feels hollow because the screen isn’t bonded to the mid-frame. Why? Well, apparently Google did it to improve the repairability of the display.
This makes the display really easy to replace. What’s the downside? Well, it feels hollow, and it also affects heat dissipation. No heat is being released via the display here, therefore the back will get a bit warmer than you’re used to. On the flip side, the display will never get as warm as you may think. "
My Oneplus 7T Pro is so quiet to tap vs my wife's Pixel 6 or the other 6 and 6 Pro units my mates have. If you're not affected by it it's just because you don't personally notice it and that's fine, but denying it is a thing is incorrect and you should compare it to phones with the display bonded to the midframe so you can educate yourself on the difference, just to satisfy the curiosity.

This scares me a bit, about the Pixel 7 and potentially 7 Pro and 7 Ultra. I want to switch to a Pixel device cuz Vanilla Android is the only Android that should be on any phone, I hate skins, and bogged down software releases. I'm between the 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max for my next phone(depending on what the specs look like) and I'm scared the Pixel 7 Pro will suffer the same, Google just can't seem to get it 100% right.

UA-camrs need to stop listening to internet trolls The screen has a hollow feeling dude. If you ever seen the tear down, you will know that there's a thousand things behind the screen. It's impossible for the screen to have a hollow feeling. It's very apparent that most people hating on this phone have never even purchased it. They're literally just repeating what MKBHD said 6 months ago that actually wasn't true, then that it isn't true now as a UA-camr. Damien, you should stop listening to random people on the internet who have no merit and what they're saying. It looks bad when you're spreading information. That's false. You shouldn't be doing that. Second off, I love how people say this fingerprint scanner is slow, but you haven't seen a single video of the fingerprint scanner being slow again in your very own video. The fingerprint scanner is just as fast as an s22 ultra So why say it's slow? It's very clearly not slow, never has been and never will be. I truly do not understand how Google garners all this hate and UA-camrs literally keep up the lies. I do not understand this crap. People saying this phone is unusable in the summer. I live in Michigan. It was 85° yesterday. I was outside And my phone was on the car mount. The phone didn't get hot. It didn't overheat it wasn't unusable. Why do people keep saying that? Oh because they hate Google. All the people saying the pics of six has Bluetooth hardware issues. Where did that come from? Just some more Trump misinformation It's crazy The stuff people will say about this phone all because Apple has nothing to talk about for the iPhone 13 and the pixel is basically a s22 ultra So I don't know why what the same screen as Samsung people are saying the pixel screen is hollow but the s22 ultra which is a little bit bigger isn't hollow. These internet trolls are actually dumb and so literally keep upholding their bullshit. It's hilarious to me. You UA-camrs need to realize how much power you have and need to understand that listening and looking at comments on somebody's fucking video or Reddit isn't actual reality. Just because one douchebag says Google decided to put defective Bluetooth hardware in the phone doesn't mean that Google actually put defective Bluetooth hardware on the phone. Stop listening to these pissed off white kids that Apple isn't has nothing to talk about anymore. Those are the only people saying their fingerprint scanner is unusable. Those are the only people saying that Google tensor can't play games. Stop with this internet misinformation bullshit if you can't see now that it's a actual hate campaign out here to delegitimize Google. I don't know what to tell you dude You use the phone yourself say your phone has none of these problems and yet you keep talking about this bullshit that people keep saying online. That's actually obviously not true. Google even have to say they swapped a fingerprint scanner on the 6A. It's kind of funny how the 6A finger for scanner looks just as fast as the 6 fingerprint scanner. But everybody's going to say how the 6A has such a better fingerprint scanner mark might words

The software experience and the trademark pixel-look photos are second to none. HOWEVER, I have gotten really used to Dual Sim use. 🎺 "Hollow sounding screen" is such a weird nitpick and is something only some spoiled techie will be concerned with. Your average folks picking up this device aren't concerned with that.
But I had the 6 Pro at launch and switched out for the standard 6 because I loved the flat panel, the matte rails and the slightly smaller footprint. Plus, I had no real need for the telephoto. The Pixel series were never out to be the fastest phones with bleeding-edge hardware. They are about showcasing Google's software finesse. I think the 6 Pro was a great device and is worth a recommendation for someone who wants a less expensive flagship Android with a beautiful screen and all of Google's software prowess. But the standard 6 was more my bag and gave me everything I look for out of a daily driver. Save for a headphone jack and expandable storage lol

  • @Hal-kj2mc

I prefer the OnePlus 10 pro over my pixel 6 pro. It's faster and smoother than Google at its own game. And smoothness is the most important thing for me. I also think the screen and speakers are better on.the OnePlus . However the software updates and the little extra Google quirks you get on the pixel are better than that on the OnePlus. I also like the slightly wider pixel screen. But overall the pixel is a 9 and the OnePlus a 10 imo. But both are great and absolutely smash the s22 ultra and you won't go wrong with either. I agree with tensor . It's not the most powerful out there . However if you test most android flagships now . They tend to score no better than the tensor out of the box. You have to turn on performance mode to bring out the slightly better score. I haven't had any issues performance wise with my pixel and don't really see that the OnePlus with it's snapdragon 8 gen 1 or the s22 ultra with it's utter garbage exynos chip perform any better day to day.
