Please don’t EVER get yourself to that point because once you are cursed with the “kindling effect” it seems you have it for the rest of your life. I could go 5 years without a drink and still get horrid withdrawal from a week of drinking. Much love Christina 🙏🖤
@@Slayer-7373 The kindling effect is a sort of a blessing in disguise especially for us binge drinkers, because it's almost like nature telling us to never pick up drinking again, even moderately. Other addicts such as opioid addicts don't have that, so if they relapse after being clean for a long time, and use the same high dose they had a tolerance for they sadly end up overdosing by accident.

Here in the UK....it's so far behind with this kinda thing, it's scary. Much love bro. You got this....because if you have the balls to be so honest about your current situation on UA-cam then you can do anything brother.
You’re the man chad and I mean that brother. Thank you for lifting me up on this dark time. I feel like if I’m not truthful on this channel, then what’s the point? God bless bro
This is awesome to hear man, I made this video for exactly you and anyone else who might be hesitant. It’s nerve racking but once you get there and you get some medicine and relax you realize it’s the best place to be. Much love brotha 💯

So happy to hear that you are feeling better Slayer. You are one hell of a human and this will make you stronger. Maybe your calling in this lifetime is to make a career out of helping other addicts. With your loved experience comes the best teachers. Have you thought about becoming a counsellor in the AOD sector? I think your personality lends itself to this pathway? Food for thought. Much love and light ❤ ❤❤
Thanks magical girl :) you’re too sweet!! I actually was just saying this to my mom the other day. I think as long as I can solve this, that’s exactly what I want to do one day. Nothing better than helping others, it’s what we are called to do. Much love 🖤
What a wonderful idea to make this video! Helping others gives us purpose & I think it's important to our recovery & healing. It's something we can do to turn our times of struggle into something positive. We were once part of the problem but we are trying real hard to be part of the solution! (Got that from good ol Jelly Roll! Lol) Addicts can get lost in selfishness easily. The more we put others above ourselves, the better we are going to feel. That helps make recovery & healing possible. I hope everyone has a beautiful Sunday no matter where you are. It's a new day & a new opportunity! Much love & light! 💜
🖤🖤🖤thanks so much. These last couple days have been pretty brutal but I’m still here, fighting and sober. Withdrawal is so crazy for me anymore, haven’t slept these last couple days but I am now out of the hospital! I’ll make it through 🙏🖤
Keep it up dude…you’re trying way harder than I ever did before I finally quite drinking 4 years ago…I had a dozen or so completely half-assed attempts…I was in wayyyyyy heavier denial…you know what the problem is…and you WILL get there ❤

Some great books to read are The Streets of Baltimore and Dreamseller by Brandon Novak. The end of the streets of Baltimore made me cry which I didn't think a book could do. If you have the time I highly recommend these books. Hang in there man, you have a lot of people in your court.
Keep it up bro. Been watching you for a bit now and you're a good dude, you deserve a life free from this. Keep your head up and get back on the path. You got this shit.

I was never able to detox in a medical facility due to insurance reasons in my country. So I always had to detox at home which was dangerous and unpleasant. I often envy people in other countries who are able to use this resource. Never take it for granted! 🤞🏼
Yea it totally sucks how across seas don’t have nearly as many options, I don’t get it. With that said tho brother trust me I’ve had my fair share of insane white knuckling experiences with booze, that have scared me so much I don’t ever want to experience them again. That’s what keeps me running back to this places. Much love brotha, hope you’re well my friend. 🙏
Slay you so smart brother you can help a lot of people in the near future, you really are helping yourself by doing something about this situation don’t get discouraged you’re not a failure ❤
Someday you will be on the other side of this: YOU will be the helper showing others the way around a center or counseling etc,, and speaking to youth, a different use of your gifts that God gave you. We love and are praying for you here in Idaho! ❤️🙏🏻
You are an awesome person Slayer ! You are so loved by so many on here . I hope and pray you will get through this man !! I’ve been through f**king hell with my alcoholism and have had many relapses cuz of me figuring I could handle my drinking and drink responsibly. That never worked out as planned . Lol.🤔 I am 29 months sober now and lovin life again . 🙏👍❤️✌️
Keep fighting Slayer! YOU are worthy of loving and being loved regardless of what the demons inside say. You are so very worthy of a better life without agony and pain. I'm praying for you my man!
I am very glad to see you back after your last video. I was worried. Also the detox room looks quite nice compared to my expectations having read about the USA health care system (I am Australian). I think it would be a good safe space to detox with medical supervision and I am glad it is available to people. Thanks for the update!
@@meghancampbell4005 🙏yes it is a very nice detox center, I’ve been to a scum hole before trust me. I actually have a video on my channel about it. But anyways much love and thank you !
Man, looking at the inside of that detox center takes me back. Although, I wasn't taken to detox, I was sent to a psych ward because of a manic depressive/suic*dal episode that was made worse by my severe alcoholism. That being said, I still recommend people go to the hospital/detox/psych if your alcoholism is that bad. It may suck but it saved my life. Don't risk it and save yours.
Yea man walking back into place gave me some ptsd myself. It’s like you never left….. I’m gonna keep fighting man. Once out of the hospital is really sometimes the hardest. You go through withdrawal from booze still slightly and on top of it benzos too. First couple days after the hospital I usually never sleep. It’s just not fun and it really puts me to the test. I can’t give up tho and give in or I’ll just remain in the hospital. Good to see you after hours, hope all is well my friend 🙏
You're looking 10 times better already Sunshine. Keep going Slayer. Keep praying and enjoying that feeling of being clean. We're all sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Much love.
Bro, I found your channel a while back and your a great person, hang in there, and we are all here for you. I was an IV heroin addict and currently being reduced from methadone.... so I can kinda relate ....Love from Ireland 💕
slayer i know u can do it man, just keep going and remember how bad drinking makes you feel. last month i only drank one day and i wish i hadn't for that one day, but that's basically a month sober if you think about it. ive only drank one day so far this month and didnt even think it was worth it again. thanks for making the videos.
You’re doing absolutely awesome Richard. I’ve seen your progress first hand on this channel and I’m extremely proud of you. I’ll get there man, I just can’t give up no matter what. Keep fighting, keep pushing forward another day. God bless bro
Don’t give up Slayer we love you brother I am praying for you I am a recovering alcoholic myself I was jaundiced last year after that happened it scared me so bad I was sober for 422 days until the other night I drank a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon but I pray to God it was an isolated incident due to stress factors I’m only 33 I have been drinking hard since 18
Slayer brotha just remember the only reason you've fallen is because you've risen. You went 2 months sober so you know beating this addiction is possible. After i relapse I just remind myself that progress isnt gonna be linear it ties back to the law of rhythm(law of rhythm basically means whatever rises must eventually fall. Its why no matter how hard you try to do good everything just seems to go left) I been having a lot of relapses lately lmao the holidays are always a tough time to stay sober. Keep pushing
Yea man I think you’re on to something, this time of the year is absolutely awful like you said. So many triggers, seasonal depression, awkward holidays I mean you name it and it’s here right now. We just gotta keep trying man that’s the most important thing. 💯
I love the idea for this video Slayer Pretend I’m sitting in this chair. At my rehab the stuff would usher us down to the cafeteria. I’d always say, “Time to feed us” lol
@ ikr? I need the chair though for real.. lmao I get tired and then I become annoyed and whiny 😫 yall would throw me out the window lol!! I have sensory issues so I get the chair period! lol
Last detox i was in was only a 5 day stay...the energy in the place was WILD. I might have to return to another soon unfortunately... Peace be with you brother. 🙏
Careful for that blood pressure. When you have high heart rate but your blood pressure is good means your heart is working overtime, doctors and nurses won't tell you this , they'll just say it's normal. Be cautious, and exercise, eat good, have a break when you need to .. Best~
Really?? I’ve never heard of this but I don’t doubt it for a second. Doctors seem to hide sh%# all the time. It’s a strange world the medical field. Don’t know who you can trust and who you can’t. I’ll try to take it easy my friend 🙏🙏
Damn, you are in a nice detox. I had 6 other people on my ward, yelling, listening to the radio on maximum and basically keeping everyone awake. The 20mgs of valium every 6 hours helps lol. Also, the food and the IVs they give you really drastically make you feel better quickly. I've been to detox 5 times. I know dat feel...
I was in the hospital twice when I was stuck living in my car and still drinking. The second time had an impact on me, as they asked me how much I drank and I was honest. Immediately after that I regretted being honest with them. Because they told me I needed to stop drinking. A few different doctors told me that. I was hospitalized because I had a VST (I think) when your heart doubles in pace or more. I was close to blacking out in a grocery store parking lot and called 911. They gave me some medication which stopped the palpitation. I think I was close to 200. So that was pretty high. I've always had anxiety issues and have experienced palpitations like that many years before ever drinking at all. But they put me on some medication and said that alcohol could be causing it. At the very least it wasn't helping. Eventually something inside my body would fail and that would be the beginning of the end. If not the immediate end. By the grace of God I was hired for a job. I got into a hotel instead of my car. From there I was able to quit. Now after those evil bastards fired me, I'm close to being in my car again, which is terrifying. The point I'm making with all this is that there is one good part about being in the hospital. You're safe. No one is going to try to murder or kidnap you. In the relentless boredom you have time to really think about your situation and where your priorities lie. If it were as simple as flicking off a light switch no one would have this problem. Maybe you can use the time though to try to sort through some of the reasons you drink. There are always reasons. Anyway God bless you. I hope you can find something good to watch or read. Don't quit. People who succeed only make it because they tried one more time after failing.
@@image30p Hey image wow thank you for sharing this is powerful and I can relate to much of it. You’re also right it’s given me a lot of time to think and process things, plan things. Try to keep your head up my friend, I hope you don’t have to go back to your car. Keep me updated on your journey, I’ll pray for you. God bless and thank you 🙏
The upsides to sharing your journey publicly on YT like this are stuff you talk about and already know - that feeling of community support, helping others, feeling like you are sharing and helping and fostering relationships. The downsides are like I see with any addict who is putting their ups and downs online: if it's a bi/ nge eater who has relapsed and regained a bunch of weight for e.g. - it's not just the bin/ ge they have to deal with, it's then also having to deal with the audience they've created who are watching them and your every move, good or bad, will generate a load of talking. That downside, of not just having to deal with the binge itself, but also having to deal with all the noise and social obligation and stuff that comes along with it - that might be toxic. I'm not sure, it would depend on the person, it would depend on if the positives of doing this outweigh that negative. But I feel like you 100% need to put yourself first. Like if you are drowning, you need to make sure YOU are ok first before you can do anything else. It's deeply admirable you are altruistic and want to help others by sharing your path. But helping yourself may mean investing everything, all your focus, into YOU, and not trying to give any of yourself away just yet while you are just trying to heal. Anyway that's just what I thought of when I watched your last 2 videos, and I am so , so sorry you are going through this. You seem like a lovely guy.
Bam 💥 you’re spot on about these things brother!!! I need to make an entire video talking about just this subject alone and my personal feelings about it. Thank you for bringing this point up!!! Much love 💯🙏
Hey man, I felt this was coming on. Sorry to hear things got rough for you. Something to consider. People tend to set “goals” like my goal is to be sober x amount of days. But goals are TRASH! because when you reach a goal there is no guarantee you will be happy once you reach your goal. Instead I use the “North Star” method. because if we use sobriety as a north star and not a destination, its more effective. See I got 5 years sobriety, but that was NEVER the goal. I just knew I wanted to sober up. And I just used sobriety as a north star to lead me each day. I never said my goal is to get sober, get a wife, get a house blah blah blah. I just said I wanted to try out sobriety. from there it lead me to all the places ive been, NATURALLY. I had no intentions of being a full time musician, I had no intentions working with a non profit that helps people in my community, I had no intentions of living in a beautiful mountain town enjoying the outdoors, and also volunteering at an animal shelter where I go in to keep them socialized ready for adoption. See all these things weren’t “goals”. But sobriety was my NORTH STAR that I followed without a destination and it led me where I am! Goals are too much pressure and leads us to relapse. because we dont get an outcome we expect or when we do it isn’t what we thought it would feel like. I believe in you man, you are scrappy trying to get sober! you got the fight in ya haha. Just use sobriety as a north star daily. Its the daily process and what you do with your time each day, that will lead you where you were meant to be. and being sober gave me a clear head, daily energy(not spent in bed being hung over) and money to be used as tools to get me where I am! Keep at it, no one is disappointed in you and we are one day at a time rooting for you😉
I like the idea of the North Star brother that’s awesome, your life sounds pretty beautiful. Congratulations on 5 years!!!! That is something to be very proud of. Thank you for the wisdom, I will apply this to my sobriety. God bless bro, be easy. 💯
@@Slayer-7373 five years ago my life was anywhere but beautiful. I was always broke. I was having panic attacks, I went to the hospital seven times, I was in detox three times, my relationships were toxic and chaotic with a lot of drunken fights and arguments. My life was a literal living hell. you seem like a really good guy, and I feel like you have a lot to offer this world, by how people respond to you in the comments, and the way you speak in your videos. We all see something in you man, just follow the sobriety Northstar and I’m positive you’ll end up where you were meant to be! Take care
We All Love You Slayer!♥️ I have a question. Do they force people to stay? Do they have good food? Thumbs Up 👍 and shared out. I’m very proud of you. If I lived closer, I’d come to visit you. Take good care of you.♥️🙏
They act like they force you to stay haha, if you say you want to leave they will do anything in their power to stop you if they don’t feel you’re ready but they can’t stop you from leaving. It’s a self admitted thing so at any time you can say screw it and leave. I heard tho from LD that if you leave early your insurance might now cover it. So it’s tricky and as far as the food goes IT SUCKS. It’s the same as hospital food just not good. Best thing they have is bacon and chicken strips, the rest of the food is nasty. Much love Cindy 🖤
@Slayer-7373 yup. I mega dosed it for kratom withdrawal an if tok the withdrawal away . An helps with kratom. Took aboit 2 grams of powder every 2 hours. To 3 hours. An really helps. But it's gotta be the sodium or it might not work. They said it cab hrlp alcohol. Cravings to cayse it boost nuerotrandmitters in high doses.
You CAN quit drinking. You just have to want sobriety more. "Blessed are they that dream big dreams, and are willing to pay the price to make them come true!

-7-10 pairs of socks and underwear, more if you plan on staying in residency after detox
-1-2 pairs of shoes
-shower sandals to prevent foot fungus
-toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant (residency will provide you with these items but trust me you do not want to use these items they suck)
-hairbrush
-a book or 2
-phone charger (some detox facilities will allow you to have your phone after 3 days of detoxing, some don’t at all during detox. you can always check the phone policy with the facility)

Absolutely brother, as long as we are breathing there is another chance. God bless man I hope you’re doing well. 🙏
Slayer, any time you start to question yourself, think about the effort you put into the world through videos like this. You are going through such a tough time, but you feel compelled to try to help others to get through theirs. You are such a kind, selfless person, and I hope that you can love and appreciate yourself just as much as you love and appreciate others. If I were in your shoes, you'd be the last one to judge and the first one to offer encouragement and understanding. Remember that and turn it inward!! All my love, my friend. You don't want to hear it, I'm sure...but you're doing great because you're moving forward. I'll always continue to wish you all the best, and I hope you do whatever brings you peace and joy. Continued prayers and love always, my friend!! Stay strong! You've got this! Never quit quitting ❤❤❤❤😊
Thanks Amanda, you know I appreciate you being here. 🙏🖤 you can always bring light to the darkness. Much love and god bless
@Slayer-7373 god bless you too, Slayer. I'll always be around 😊🙏❤️🫂
Awe I’m gutted for you man, but I love that you don’t let shame prevent you from showing the reality of slipping up and what detox rooms look like. I wish you all the best, once again you’ll make the climb back out of the hole and charge forward.
@@archangel_josh you were one of the first people who came to mind man when I posted that short. I honestly felt horrible for some reason about you finding out. I look up to you brother, but you understand because you’ve fought this battle. I appreciate you sticking by my side man. Much love.
You’re doing great brother. Hang in there and also take it from me. I got sober at 43 years old. I now 51. It happened in the blink of an eye all the crazy that we do as a young person. Sometimes you live to tell about it, so take care of yourself while you’re young.
Thanks Marcus, i appreciate that brother. I’m gonna start taking care of myself, enough abusing myself with poison. God bless
@ plus one of these days you wanna be a awesome dad and even a paw paw . You wanna have the health to go do the cool stuff with your grandkids

We appreciate you checking in on us Slayer, it certainly looks like they are taking very good care of you, and it's good to let others know what a detox center looks. If you need to take time away from youtube we totally understand, we will be here for you. All the best in your recovery, prayers sent your way 🙏

I’m glad you’re not quitting UA-cam for good, your videos, LD, Bat Country and some others are like an alternative to AA for me as I’m 50 days sober from severe alcoholism. Probably will relapse but I plan on going as far as I can not to.

Great video man! Went through the UK version of de-toxit 3 times from last December - including Xmas..total of twice via hospital..then straight into a mental hospital or another 10 days de-tox…back out March drank again …then went cold turkey on my own in July..THAT..nearly killed me..but I’m still hear..I kept praying. Was straight sober from July - had a slip or a few days late October - back straight again - still fighting🙏🤗👍….WE FIGHT on TOGETHER - like a team . Not a bad looking detox bro!! Here in Canada. 6 guys to a room and 1 bathroom. Glad you’re feeling better tho my brother !! Rootin’ for ya !!
No not bad at all, that’s wild 6 people in a room detoxing Woah. I’ve been to an awful detox before but at least even at that one you were alone. Thanks brother 🙏

Thanks. That was interesting. Good to see you back ❤
Thank you Diane 🙏🖤

That’s beautiful to hear Angela!!!! I must be confident and positive and I agree I WILL beat this!!! 🙏

@@Slayer-7373 excellent!!! Keep that mindset up. You got a whole community here behind you and ready to help.

Trying my best brother, it’s not easy 🙏🙏
slayer i know u can do it man, just keep going and remember how bad drinking makes you feel. last month i only drank one day and i wish i hadn't for that one day, but that's basically a month sober if you think about it. ive only drank one day so far this month and didnt even think it was worth it again. thanks for making the videos.
You’re doing absolutely awesome Richard. I’ve seen your progress first hand on this channel and I’m extremely proud of you. I’ll get there man, I just can’t give up no matter what. Keep fighting, keep pushing forward another day. God bless bro
Don’t give up Slayer we love you brother I am praying for you I am a recovering alcoholic myself I was jaundiced last year after that happened it scared me so bad I was sober for 422 days until the other night I drank a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon but I pray to God it was an isolated incident due to stress factors I’m only 33 I have been drinking hard since 18
Love ya too man, congratulations on your sobriety that is absolutely beautiful. Keep up the solid work, we got this
Slayer brotha just remember the only reason you've fallen is because you've risen.

100% poison, 100% venom. Much love bro

🤞🙏💪 absolutely Kristen!!
@ u said “Kristen” yay 😀 love u my friend you are never alone ever. You & LD & lots of yall are never a thought away honest
@@Slayer-7373 Yay awesome! Just so you know, I am a lady though 😁 Hope you're doing well Slayer! ❤
Dang, how much have you spent on detox centers? I hope you take care of yourself man.
Too much man…. Way too much 😓
hey, it's all gud ive been struggling still its hard to stay sober around the holidays
@@DingusV.2 yes the holidays are always rough, not only for me but it seems like a lot of us. I wish you luck my friend 🙏, thank you.

A detox saved my sons life. ❤
That’s what I like to hear. That’s beautiful Star bright!!! 🙏🖤

Thank you ❤️
