Belgium is a country of elegance and good taste with modest artists like Hooverphonic. Remember 'Mad about you'? Not the spectacle some are referring too but definitely one of the best songs of the first semi finals. A real song and a high quality performance, and that is what Eurovision should be about.

The more u listen to this song, the more you realize that this song is a MASTERPIECE. To all the people saying that this song didnt deserved to go in the finals, I dont agree with you. Yes, Croatia should have been in the finals too, but not instead this masterpiece.
I’ve never listend to the Eurovision songs 2021 before, planned to listen to them the first time when the shows are, and it’s simply my most favorite from all in semifinal 1 and right now my most favorite and if it doesn’t change I will give Belgium 2 votes at the final.

Just wanted to make sure that people know that Hooverphonic is not just another Eurovision band. They are a legendary band with super beautiful songs (mad about you , 2 wicky, etc). 10/10 vocals. This song is perfectly representing its genre, musically on point and very professional. I can't understand people who say this is "boring" like every song in the contest should be a dance track/ generic pop. Variation makes the contest enriched.

Totally agree, this song is my favourite from 1st semi final indeed. Performance, voice, music and whole structure of this song and vibe is just so stylish and tasty. I feel so sorry for this band because so many eurovision viewers think they didn't deserve to qualify for final, because they didn't have sparkles glitter and loud chorus with shooting fire. It's a song/music contest not glitter contest, but if someone wants all sparkles and colours maybe they should go to see circus. Also people who complain about performance, because other countries did this or that etc.... not every performance need constant action and change on stage, it depends from song, and in my opinion this song was performed perfect. Loud song requires louder performance, and this song needed this subtle performance in my opinion. It's sad that such bands are so underrated in eurovision because it makes me think what people are watching this contest, they don't understand much of true art, and that what stops most really great bands and singers even participate in this contest. I believe that most of true artist/musician wouldn't even consider eurovision, because of the audience watching it and expecting all this circus flying around them when it's totally not with artists style of performance. Music is diverse and different music for different people. People shouldn't slag Belgium for qualifying

I've never heard of this band but I will check out some of their music after hearing this and I'll be sure to give them a vote in the final. @@loiclejeune2877 Hello from North America! Hooverphonic is well known if you are into electronic/rock and trip hop. Most people don’t even know they love them to be honest, after all Sarah Brightman covered their songs along with being on many soundtracks. “Eden” was a well known song.
I remember I heard some Hooverphonic back when I was really into Portishead and all those bands, I mean, they're quite big
The only other Belgian band I can think of which is basically as big are dEUS, who would also be an amazing addition to this stage
I discovered this band by watching Bertolucci's "Io ballo da sola" (Stealing beauty) film back in 1996.
Not Eurovision format at all, thank God. It was so good, so fresh for this competition. Feels like something old school. It was the best for me in this semi finals! Love from Russia ❤

Easily the best performance of the night. They were so comfortable on the stage, it shows their years of experience. So many performers looked lost today, but Hooverphonic absolutely owned the stage and didn't give you a moment to doubt their professionalism.
