@@amunra69what happened was they disrespected him on the poster for Sheffield by making him very small in the corner because he’s not an sbd athlete. So he decided not to compete.
@@Bigcheese6875 Rules like these are why people like strongman more than powerlifting lol. he still held onto it until the completion of the rep. It's not like it ripped out of his hand
Wtf was this judging. Many of the squats looked very high (but it's not so easy to see from the camera angles, so maybe I'm wrong). There was literally no pause in the bench; it was mostly touch and go. And to top it all off, some of the deadlifts didn't lock out the hips or didn't pull the shoulders back. It was horrible and shameful. I watched the event with some people who are judges themselves, and we were all very confused about what was going on. If the sport wants to grow, it needs to follow its own rules and can't make exceptions for stars just because the numbers would go down otherwise. Or separate Sheffield records and official records. Then it would be fine if they have their own looser rules. But if you can put up a world record with this kind of performance, then this sport is a joke.
Yeah I am starting to get annoyed that it actually counts to break the world records here, the scoring system is fine but it shouldn’t count imo, as the judging is so inconsistent and feels crazy relaxed at times. I agree squats aren’t definitely sinked, bench is short compared to worlds and dead’s was just what (particularly on winning calls). I think it may be because they are judging lots of different body types at one time that it may be hard or something. Idk it’s in a weird space, but I swear you let 100+ judges look and 90% will go the other way on some calls
I will also add it feels shitty for those who lift to an incredibly high standard, Gustuv, Bobb, Ashton, Agata, Jurins, Joe Boernstien. They all clearly sink squats, they all clearly lock hips and knees when deadlifting
If your gripe with the IPF is the lenient judging then YOU are the reason the sport won't grow. People who aren't powerlifters themselves have no idea what the crease of the hip is, or what a bar moving down for an instant is, or all the other minute details. They see people lifting massive weights through a complete range of motion and then get red lighted. What is shameful is being paid only 5000 thousand for a world record, when Strongman pays 50.000 and they pay around 5000 to the guy coming last (and that's only in Sheffield, they don't get shit anywhere else). If you want the sport to grow it needs to become spectacular and accessible to the mass public, in order to pay the athletes what they're worth and invite more elite talent into the sport. Instead we are now allowing the lighter ladies to dip half a meter on the bench pause to get around the elbow depth. This elitist wannabe Olympic point of view isn't going to grow the sport, it has been failing for years. Let us see who's the strongest, not who has the best proportions to look aesthetic when at the top of a deadlift.
Feel bad for Gustav, guy lift’s undeniable and it’s how it should be. Sinks every squat, deadlifts are clearly hips locked knees locked. Not liking this trend at Sheffield where it’s inconsistent
It makes 0 sense to have athletes from different weight classes competing for the same trophy. They should only compete against people their size, the % of WR is dumbest scoring system ever used
@@Stonemon16yes it does matter. Kjell got the down command on his second dead and it didn’t count bc his shoulders weren’t fully back. Down command isn’t the end all be all. He missed it on grip. Same thing happened to me

66 kg class is ruined, nobody will come close to the record for the next 10 years at least

Some of the ladies really "leaving it all out on the platform" today 🌧 🌧 😂😂😂
haha time ?
kjel and agata is the real winner in this comp fr
It makes 0 sense to have athletes from different weight classes competing for the same trophy. They should only compete against people their size, the % of WR is dumbest scoring system ever used
Good job RUSS!!! 4th place is just as good as 1st…. Oh wait 😢😢😂😂
he got robbed🙄
@@mechavvy9156how? Rewatch his 3rd the bar was obviously slipping
@@Bigcheese6875doesn’t matter if he got the down command
@@Stonemon16yes it does matter. Kjell got the down command on his second dead and it didn’t count bc his shoulders weren’t fully back. Down command isn’t the end all be all. He missed it on grip. Same thing happened to me
Watched it back a few times and I still didnt see it
