    Simms nailed it at the end. Why such great numbers/stats, cheap contract, yet so many different teams? Also, Reddick asked for a trade from two different teams only 4 months apart. Who wants to take a risk on trading the Jets for the 30 year old DE now? I do think the Jets likely hold some of the "blame" here, but Reddick is really hurting himself much more than hurting the Jets

    Joe Douglas has ALL the leverage. Reddick’s the one racking up fines, & he’s not 25 or 26 anymore, Father Time is undefeated. The Front Office is winning this battle, plain & simple.
    The truth? The Jets want Reddick, but Reddick needs the Jets. He can’t play for any other team until he fulfills the contract HE signed & the Jets traded for. Joe Douglas is playing chess while Reddick’s team is stuck playing checkers.
    That’s the reality. F*** who’s right or wrong-Douglas knows it, the Front Office knows it, & deep down, Reddick knows it too. The Jets control the board.

    • @Edward19892
      @Edward19892 23 дні тому

      Lol "JD is playing chess." Reddick could easily afford to hold out until week 8 (when his contract rolls over), play out half the year, and get what he can in free agency next year. Reddick has more leverage here because JD is the one who's going to get fired if Reddick doesn't show up. If JD doesn't fold, Reddick will have lost 6-7 mil bucks at worst, which pales in comparison to what he'll gain if JD does. What if the jets start 0-2 or get an injury on their def line? JD has no idea what he's doing.

    • @Wolf.of.Gotham

      @@Edward19892 Reddick has ZERO Leverage-plain & simple. Sitting out until Week 8? Okay, That’s just lighting millions on Fire. Joe Douglas already told him, “Now Go Get Your Fuckin Shine Box.” Because Reddick needs the Jets FAR more than they need him. Especially when the Jets have a top 3 defense that has All-Pro & Pro Bowl players on all 3 levels. This is already is an ELITE Defense, & Reddick’s just another piece, NOT the centerpiece. He can hold out all he wants-the Jets will be just fine without him.

      @@Wolf.of.Gotham lol whats 6-7 mil to a guy who's made 60-70, and who will make at least 10-20 more after this year regardless of what happens. Plus he'll be less likely to get injured (and ruin any possible future deal) if he sits, so easily worth the risk to see what happens until week 8. JD knows this defense isn't elite anymore without Huff or JFM if Reddick doesn't sign. You're way overrating the 6-7 mil he's gonna lose in fines-that's nothing to him, especially compared to the 75 mil he might make if JD caves, and its JD's job on the line. He looks like a complete idiot for not having a deal done before the trade.

      Shitting on 6-7 million mentality is exactly why 80% of pro football players end up broke a few years after they hang up their cleats. Plus Those fines are still considered taxable income. So, he’s basically paying taxes on money he never even gets. Not exactly a winning Financial strategy.
      JFM is a (JAG) he was Just A Guy who has benefited frm playin alongside Quinnen Williams like everyone else who play beside him!
      As for Huff, he had 1 decent year, but let’s not act like he’s some sort of superstar. His run defense is Absolutely Atrocious. Let’s keep it 💯, he only thrived because of Saleh & Ulbrich’s Wide 9 system. He’s not some unstoppable force, just a product of the scheme, he’sgoing to go downto Philly & Flop. That’s why they drafted McDonald-He's the prototype pass rusher for the Wide 9, McDonald will have a better year than Huff, hands down.

      @@Wolf.of.Gotham Don't pretend to know what's going on with Reddick's finances. He's risking 6-7 mil for the chance that JD folds and gives him 75. Thats a smart financial risk and worth holding out until the last minute for. You have yet to address why JD has any leverage himself, since he is virtually guaranteed to be fired without a long playoff run and hasn't made anywhere near that much money. I will say this-paying significant long term money before a player comes to your team comes with a lot of risk too. It's one thing to risk the assets but being stuck in a contract for a player who doesn't fit your team culture is more harmful . IE-Seattle and the Percy Harvin deal. But if you don't agree to the contract upon the trade then I think the team needs to understand it does come at the cost of leverage and be willing to pay. The Jets made the trade without understanding the exchange in leverage which is stupid

    Reddick has had 4 x 10+ sack seasons in the last 4 years they have been with 3 different teams (Cardinals, Panthers, Eagles and Eagles) the only other player in the past 4 years to get 10+ sacks is Myles Garrett. Garrett spent all those 4 years in the same system with the same coaches. Don't give me this Reddick isn't in the elite class crap.

    Everyone shitting on the Jets, this dude has no leverage. No money guaranteed and he’s lost 2 mil already. Hes not just going to make back 14 mil in his next deal that’s BS. That Will McDonald pick that Douglas gets shit for is looking real good right now. Best secondary in the NFL Jets don’t need Reddick to be good he was a luxury pick for a SB push. He also said he’d report and now his agent probably told him he’s was dumb for saying that, too bad.

    This is the reason the Jets will never compete for a division title with this ownership and coaching staff. Period! I honestly feel bad for Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the guys on this team whose talent is being wasted on a dysfunctional franchise. This is a classless move by the Jets. And to say, "Oh, we didn't know he wanted a new contract," is nothing more than a blatant lie!

    Fangios base 3-4 has no place for Reddick 6-1 230 who cannot cover! Huff can cover the TE or Back. Remember Reddick was needed in the Superbowl to tackle the backs and he came up with a big ONE TACKLE! He is 30 years old and an undersize edge rusher

    Let him sit home, continue to pay fines, and NOT receive game checks as soon as the season starts. Let him sit at home all season long, because then his contract rolls right over to 2025 and Reddick is in the exact same position - no free agency and no other NFL team being interested in trading for him.

  • @Mariopuzo19
    @Mariopuzo19 28 днів тому

    Who is to say what is best for Hassan Reddick, it is Hassan Reddick himself. It’s okay when the team does it but it’s not cool when the player does it. He has already done the calculation, yes he will lose money in fines but I suppose that is price of doing business. He can come later in the season to play 8 games to get acrued season and leave for nothing. When he comes in, trust me, he would play soft cos he knows any Injury would cost him.

    lol no now that Bryce Huff is gone the Jets are desperate for Hassan Reddick. Who do they have? Q Williams is a good DT. I believe he had 4 sacks last year. They traded John Franklin Myers a rusher who could play on the edge or interrior. Who they got on the edge? Jermaine Johnson and that’s it really. They have no other proven edge players. They got Will McDonald who is going into his 2nd year. And they got 3rd year guy Jermaine Johnson who looks like he will be pretty good. They don’t have Carl Lawson anymore they have no other proven edge guys besides Johnson and he is still young. If I were them I would resign Carl
    Lawson.

    Reddick isn’t getting what he wants. He can’t sit the year out because he then won’t be able to go to free agency. And he’s still got to pay all the fines. If he doesn’t come in to the Jet’s facility and try to at least get his current salary guaranteed and maybe some additional incentives to pay these fines, he’s going to end his career early.
