Congratulations, honestly sterile processing is a field where you will learn something new every day. I encourage you to ask a lot of questions. And don't get discouraged because you may not learn all your general instruments in one week or you may not be as fast as others. Take your time. But to answer your question directly, the toughest part COULD be your co workers. The job itself is pretty easy. I hope that helped

I'm sure every state and hospital is different, but the hospital I work at often trains on the job for certain positions. It depends on laws/requirements. So check out your local hospitals, apply for entry level jobs such as dietary, housekeeping, etc. And if you're willing to ride it out (usually 90 days) you can then request transfers to other positions that may be willing to train you.

I just came across your channel and you make some good points thank you 😊 I have a question I took my sterile processing class online and just finished it but I’m a little nervous about the final exam they gave me a practice exam but not sure if those questions I took on the practice one will have the same or similar questions on the real exam do you know what’s a good practice guide so I can study it and pass the final exam ?

I know this video is pretty old, but i was wondering as far as the 400hrs needed for the certification. Do you HAVE to go the volunteer route or see if they’re accepting students, or can i also just simply try to get hired with no experience and obtain my 400hrs that way as well? I’m currently taking an online course for this, but they don’t provide externships.

I wasn’t an LPN. However, I was a home health aide. The difference is in the pay, growth in your field, and whether you want to help people hands-on or not. I enjoy doing both honestly.
