I’ve been playing a lot of red vs blue and I’ve been focusing on not hitting the scope on close range shotgun fights and switching from smg/ar to shotgun and it’s definitely helped so much. No penalty for death and constant action
Understand the line about how playing to win and playing to fight often don't line up. In an effort to win it's amazing how many 1 to 4 elim victories I've gotten . {Even got a zero .. Wish i had a screen shot... Last few dudes died in the storm.. Never found a fight}
My very first win was a zero kill deal. I had only been playing for a few days, and I was still getting a feel for the game. I shot at a bunch of folks, but never got a kill. I just kept running to make the next zone. All of a sudden, I got a win. I was SO confused, didn't think you could win without at least one kill!
Creative most def has helped me learn the mechanics of all mobility. I was able to learn about the mod bench without fear of being interrupted. I'll use Creative if there is one thing I'm trying to learn. Things like going through all the weapons and seeing how the cross-hairs change zooming in/out with specific mods did help my choices. Some maps are also good for those 60K XP missions in Creative, gets it done in 15-minutes.
My daily routine: warm up in The Pit™️ for 20 minutes before battle royale. Take a break from warming up Break was too long, go back to The Pit™️ to warm back up from break. Spent 40 minutes warming up, it is now time to go to bed.
Did anyone play the Yacht Game? You got a new gun every time you got a kill, and there were up to 50 people flying all over the place. Crazy, tense, but if you play it a few times you get a good feel for how each weapon fires and reloads, gives your aim a workout too. For about a week I played it for 30 min each day before I switched to Zero Build, and it definitely helped me in-game. I'm pretty sure Jake recommended this months ago.
That’s a good one. They’re called “Gun Games” where after every kill you get a new weapon. There were some awesome versions on old CoD maps like Terminal and Nuketown too. The only con is you’re usually not getting weapons that are in the current loot pool, but still a solid warmup.
Ur aim is prob super cracked now and ur movement might be superb as well, just depending on what you run in the pit. I run a bit of a fun/meme loadout of Thunderburst, pump shotgun, flintknock, heals and grappler. I stay away from the Jules grappler cause it's broken and I don't wanna be that guy using it's exploit to my advantage
This is more of my opinion but I feel like whenever I try to kill someone with a high kill count they just get away with jules mythic glider which is mostly the reason why I stopped playing the pit.Though I will say it does help a bit in improving aim and mobility
For gun fighting, creative was a must for me to improve. I play Red/Blue (zero build version) and you can always get a lobby. There are fights going on that are long, medium and close range. I need to play to get used to new guns cuz I’m still relatively new at shooters. Making a point to weapon swap during fights is also a must at all ranges to get a feel for those buttons and how the timing feels. 15 mins in Red/Blue always makes me feel like I’ve improved with the guns.
Shortly after you posted this I took your advice, found the aim training that you recommended and practiced on just this for a half an hour to an hour before I played. I am shocked at how much I improved after just one practice session. The biggest thing that I accomplished was really dialing in the settings for controller sensitivity! This is something I have been struggling with for quite some time, so I will forever be in debt to you for this reason alone. The other thing that happened is I did gain confidence and I shied away from fewer fights. Confidence is a huge advantage! I 100% agree with you on that. I still need to do a lot of work on my movement and decision making but I have often commented in the past that I suck and probably always will suck even even though I do have fun. I don't really feel this way anymore I might actually improve Beyond suck. With a bit more practice I might comment that I don't suck. Thanks for all the content!

The summer road trip quests have forced me into creative more lately. Red v Blue has the OG weapons available, if you like them, and I like the practice for Reload. Hip firing at close range, and weapon swapping is easy to practice there.
Creative is easily one of the best things to benefit from. If you play red versus blue you can get really comfortable with a lot of chaos going on around you in those lobbies. Lately I've been practicing gloves into burst or shotgun in crazy red vs blue. It's good to try things out like that. Also different sights and tracking real players good for testing that as well.
W Jake. When I had more time on my hands I used to play more creative and it definitely helped me get better. I play much less now but played 2v2 rapid zb and it was an excellent warm up.
Wanting to improve and having fun is not an exclusive or. ;-) Your videos are very helpful, educative and entertaining even though my focus is having fun while playing.
I can agree my opinion of the quality of player in red vs blue is not the best and I assume the same of the pit. And I also agree that if you focus on your objective such as tracking, shotgun fights, hip fire aim, whatever your goal for the day is, then it's not so important how good they are, and in some cases it's better for them to be bad, because you can make mistakes and stay alive and then try to fix those mistakes in the same fight. I also personally feel less pressured or stressed when my opponent is bad because I know it should be an easy fight so I can practice with less stress and I'm not eliminated in a split second so I have more time alive to practice if that makes sense.
Creative definitely helped me learned to fight with a fearless attitude, after dying in red vs blue multiple times w no consequences makes you less intimidated when fighting in game
I def need to get more into creative but then I catch myself doing minis like zombie Tycoon or Apocalypse lol I need to get more into Red vs Blue for sure!
I just play for fun, even though I clearly clicked this video. Lol jk there was a aim creative mode that you told us in a previous video I use to practice my look& aim sensitivity and aiming and hip firing there. Sometimes I do death runs to get lv ups if I need to
I forget what map but zemie a zero build end game map helped me improve greatly with game sense and positional awareness but the thing that took my combat ability to the next level would definitely have to be red vs blue

I agree and spend 45 minutes in creative before playing VR. Now my mechanics are so good I need to spend more time in VR to work on my positioning and game sense. It’s a good problem to have but it took a lot of creative hours to achieve but in small chunks it will happen quicker than you might think. Just make it a habit and you’ll be glad you did. I have an unhealthy amount of hours in creative.. but if you are not getting those in-game-sense hours in then it wont matter. But its good for practicing mechanics
Re your controller video: I think you were the first person to explain how to figure out sensitivity: basing it on your HIP FIRE. Why does no one ever explain things like this? Ive been messing with my own sens for a year now and still not sure which to play with. The hints in the settings menu arent very helpful either. I fiddle with it every month or so. Im still not happy with it. Also what was the code for AIM controllers? one word "EvolveJake"?
I do have a question about this...I play a lot of crazy reb vs blue for practice, which has helped a lot, but the experience I gain there does increase my level over time. Does that then hurt me in game if I then get matched to much better players who perhaps got most of their experience in be vs creative?
Creative is fine for getting to grips with combat but it is nothing like a real game. I drop 30 kills without dying in red vs blue then die off spawn to a ten year old with magneto gloves. Hardly any gunfights in ZB with magneto, nitro gloves and cars.
I feel like I do t get good practice in the creatives. I go to the pit map and literally have to just run around and get lit up by like 4 people at same time
And 1v1s I get matched with someone extremely better than me and get crucified in seconds. 😂 🤷🏻♂️ idk I still try to do them after a 20 min aim map everyday
I can speak for me im a bit older and I dont want to play creative to get better at a game. Any other mp game I've ever played there isn't the need to go to another mode to get better you just play the game and get better. This game is just alot harder to do that and I dont know the exact reason why. Maybe because I'm getting older and my reactions aren't the same.
Did you even watch the video? You'd be surprised about how much you can improve by simply playing creative for at least a couple minutes before a real match. You don't have to spend hours a day on creative either. Fortnite is that kind of game where you actually have to put in effort to improve beyond...
Creative maps also a fun game, often even better. It gives you new emotions, more XP ans satisfaction from fast growing skills. If you don't like all of that, maybe Fortnite is just not your game.

Go Goated Zero Build is super underrated. Its 4v4v4v4 with revives endgame, with a storm slowly closing. no reboots.

Reload is really useful for practicing the basics,you can pack a lot more fights in reload due to the auto reboot.

Creatives helps a lot since Reload I have been using that as my warm up and you can improve like crazy with the amount of fights you get in
I started playing creative to do the quests and it definitely helped my aim a bit. Sounds kind of like, " no duh" but yh it definitely does help.

My endgame ideal loadout is a AR, magneto hands, nitro fists, blow torch (to heal car), and heals. Loll I’ve embraced the cheapness and gimmicks
I've been playing combat bootcamp to warm up and practice my aim and have seen notable improvements in a short amount of time.

Level means nothing in skill based match making. It’s all about your performance in BR (wins & kd predominantly)
