I have an SOG that is Aus 8 , and it is alright, but I really like CPM3V, and CPM154 a lot. My WINKLER belt knife is 80CrV2, and that is really good it gets very sharp. There a few others that I would like to try out. Keep up the good content , and have a great day
Aus 8 is not my favorite but if you know how to sharpen and have even a basic ceramic rod it does take a sharp edge pretty quickly and it’s tough enough for organic medium and usually cheap as dirt. I deff have a love for the basic carbon steels they are tough as hell sharpen up quick and seem to take the edge to a new level although the edge retention isent really there compared to some of the stainless and tool steels but the extra fine edge something like 1095, 52100, or even vtoku2 takes is from anther planet would prob put crv2 in that category. Cpm3v is great especially for a fixed blade because of how tough it is usually takes a lot more time to sharpen. Cpm154, and vg10, are prob my favorite stainless right now just because the ease of sharpening less to maintain and relative toughness it gives. S90v is great if you want a long lasting toothy work edge my favorite card board cutter is the k2 in 10v long thin blade with a high carbide steel blade works amazing. Some of my favorites to edc is k390, m4, rex45 and cruwear. Is cold steel made there xl folders in cruwear 😍😍😍
Thats old school! I used to have a voyager 2x in aus8-a. So far, my fav cold steel model is the bush ranger
