    Not a bad knife at all , I just got the Recon 1 in CPM-S35Vn , phenomenal blade steel , so the CPM-Magnacut M1 version is out of my price range, but it's a very good upgrade although it's hard to improve the S35Vn Recon1 , but it seem they may have done it. But at a premium for the consumer, good purchase and collectors knife or EDC. 😊

      @@paulsmith8855 the toothyness and edge retention surpasses s35vn in my opinion. A few other up grades making it a little higher end but both great knives I agree with u. What’s your preferred blade shape on the recon1 tanto, clip, or drop point?

    The Talwar was the first Cold Steel folder i bought, it is in aus8A steel. It is retired now because of collectors price. I was one of those that saying to them to make it again, so i am going too buy a new one. I own most of the XL folders now. And i am shorter than you and have no problem carrying the the XL Espada, go for it. I even bought one more, because it has come out a model in Ruby Red and black blade,it is really nice. I just had too have it, just for having it you know. But the stonewashed and black Espada is the user, have the large Espada too. And that is also a very fine knife. Here in Norway i use a slashing knife with the ability for stabbing in the summer and a pure stabber oriented knife in the winter. Because people have so much clothes on in the winter,it is a freezing cold country. Much colder than Sweden of course, so cutting is not a good option, but the serrated blades will do harm. But stabbers are the way to go.

    Being able to do light legs, light cardio, lightly work my good arm will make me feel less helpless make me feel like I have a release and more control over the situation. I don’t want to get motivated to start training again and hurt something else like a hamstring ( first time I had ever pull or tore a hamstring my whole Life) because I just been laying around for months deconditioning my body I want to be in relatively decent shape so when the arms good to go. I just need to strengthen it up to the rest of my body ramp everything up and be good to go

    On the last one I don’t think I was cleared to lift more then 5lbs until 6 months in took me a full year to get back to the same strength I did even get stronger. It was more mental then anything. the very conservative approach definitely hurt me mentally I felt like everything I had ever worked for was disappearing before my eyes like I couldn’t do anything to improve and stop it meanwhile you see the people who used to believe in you completely give up on you and push you to get a full time job early before I’m even recovered so they won’t have to waste any more money on me. Is what it is I believe if I had the mindset I have now when I was young it would have been a way different recovery. Still I’m try to make this surgery my bitch not the other way around

    Injuries can be rough. I tore my peck muscles a few times when I was younger. But I have no doubt your tendon will completely heal within 6-9 months, so it is all about keeping your sanity during that time, which it looks like you are doing a good job at already.

    Hey William, very nice knife there. Since it’s in 3V have you noticed any corrosion or staining? I want to pick up one of the last ones still out there, but I’m not sure if I should just go for one of the new m4 coated versions.

    • @williamsmith5429

      Personally I love patina and wear on the knife I usually oil it but the time I have forgot I have gotten a couple on orange spots when it’s on my wet sweaty pocket all day it takes me about a min to get it off with my rust eraser not a big deal to me. If u had to choose one maybe the coated but I’m pretty happy with it it’s special to me I would recommend getting both the m4 will have better edge retention the 3v will be a little tougher either way a little maintenance on your tool is not going to kill u lol

    Nice review. Perhaps not a knife for those that can't navigate disassembly and emery cloth. There is a break in period. This is an awesome camp and kitchen knife for those that are not into the Arnis, Eskrima, Kali thing. It (serrated version) was confiscated by my wife for culinary duties.

    • @williamsmith5429
      @williamsmith5429 2 роки тому

      Right. I got a few options for you. #1 get the after market micarta scales. #2 you can use a soldering iron or wood burner and put stippling to get it kind of a checkered texture. I have seen a lot of guys do this for their glocks. Also works with the Becker handles. # 3 the option I used I put goon tape on the handle which is basically a black athletic tape it did the trick for me gave it a micarta feel sticky when hands are wet also give it traction. You can combine #2 and 3 to give it a lot of traction without needing to buy anything in Most cases
