Even though I really miss Phil on the vocals, Ray Wilson delivers the song nicely. Mike and Tony DEFINITELY keep the ship afloat with their expertise in maintaining the Genesis musical excellence we've all grown to love over the years. As I've stated in past comments, Ray had to have met the expectations of Mike and Tony to have gained the vocalist position. I'm sure many of you join me in just being happy with another Genesis album! Thank you, Gentleman!

An underappreciated album, but one that's still apart of Genesis. Great track imo. There's no other band like Genesis, that had this many eras, but still managed to be this legendary with every single one. What a legacy, and they'll never be anything alike, All the best legends 💙👑

One correction - there are many bands that went through changes and remained great.
Black Sabbath - Deep Purple - Yes just to name a few.
The only problem I have is that Rutherford stopped writing legendary bass lines after Hackett Left.
For me - I only just found about this lineup - not sure how that happened.
They are great. This singer is great.
I think if Rutherford would have went back to his master bass playing he did in the early years this would be even better than it is.
They should have stayed together. Bad marketing probably killed it. This singer is awesome.
I'm going to have to spend more time listening to this album. Of course my favorite
is Wind & Wuthering.

Finally they remembered that Ray was aboard the ship once upon a time. Steve Hackett has done more justice to Ray than Genesis even though they never appeared on the same Genesis material.
This track reminds me of Morrissey’s The More You Ignore Me The Closer I Get.

Why is the radio malfunctioning? Just kidding, really enjoy this track, the video is weird though, i think that some things there are references to The Lamb, there are so many of those in Genesis and Peter stuff after the fact.

It does. But would have been their best tune. Nice synth work. This singer is really really good.
First listen to this album, I've avoided it so far. It is not bad at all, but it's not exactly Genesis. It feels more like a Mike & The Mechanics album, with the occasional Peter Gabriel on vocals, such as on this song. Ray Wilson delivered a very good impression of Peter Gabriel here. He had an impossible task, to be Genesis reinvented again, for a third vocalist version. I'd say he did a good job. Think of Black Sabbath, the many vocalists they tried, each of them another version of the band, with different lyrics styles and different feeling - yet it tried to be Sabbath nevertheless. Same here.
They should have named this song “band wrecked” or “musical integrity wrecked”

sounds like a lot of the music of that time. i'm sorry but this is really generic and beneath genesis.
