Thanks for posting. God bless you all for what YOU did saving those baby ducklings, and for taking care of the mamma duck! This IS a wonderful way that we can teach our young people, and children to care about life. It is also a great testimony about people taking time to work together as a team in cooperation, problem solving, demonstrating great patience, kindness and love to care for one another as they work to save one of God's tender defenseless creatures. This is very, very awesome!! This brought tears to my eyes as I watched. We need more of these videos on the internet for children, young people, and all adults to watch! Thanks for making my day. I think they ought to rethink the design of storm drain covers in the USA. They seem to be death traps for small animals....ducklings, kittens and so forth.
Please read if you treasure ducklings. Try not to take a distressed mama duck struggling to a home pond as amusement or to show off our appreciation of her liters. After gone through several channel I begin to understand how the family get lost in their way back to the pond. Pageant mama duck have air born navigation skill fly from pond to a tree or nest above ground to hatch her babies. A around a pond with unobstructed path back to the pond. But some tree is isolated from the pond with fenced homes at the water front. Poor mama duct don’t have ground level navigation skill often lost her way back to the pond with babies behind her. To make matter worse we often find mama duck crying for her liters all fallen through a road side drain grill. Message to all water front home owners. If possible create a “line of sight” passages to the pond for mama duck during breeding seasons.
I know this video is from 2017, but I hope they changed all the gratings on the covers to smaller ones that baby animals won't so easily fall down through. I mean, holy moly, a small cow would fit through there!
I saw lot of videos duck babies suffering in road ways. Improper drainage system only considering humans to walk. If the gird is small the babies can easily cross. Many ducks are not notiesed by human.
What is good about filming the ducklings rescue is that it makes us aware of the bad drainage gratings that are all over every state.. and Yes, we get to see many rescues. BUT.. just how many.. lost ducklings falling in these gratings that never get found..! There needs to be more involvement in the type of gratings being used that is more nature friendly in the future.. that is safe for all baby wild animals.

I could go the rest of my life without eating meat if they quit slaughtering animals. But don't forget the horible things mankind does to animals that people find and many times save and help. Those cases bring me to tears and rage! Those are the things we don't have as much control over as the slaughter of animals.

Someone needs to design a duck-proof grating.
I thought about that, good idea.
We can put a man on the moon, but we can't make ducking-proof grates.

Seems to be a worldwide problem. Storm drain grates need a re-design so small animals can't fall through.
