This song speaks volumes to me! My great grandfather (mother's side) came to America from Ireland. This very song gives me a glympse into what it was like for him.
I want to thank you, because of you guys and the Clancy brothers I have developed a love for the old country's music. I almost come to tears when hear some of the softer tones and sad songs, but I love pretty much all the songs you guys do. I appreciate you.
This song is sung by you all so beautifully, I love it so much! I had only ever heard the instrumental version but the words are so meaningful and powerful!
Thank you guys for your music! I'm a relatively new fan and am looking forward to seeing you in Charlotte next september and possibly virginia in march!
This is seriously the most beautyful song you guys ever performed.. Although I discovered you only a few weeks ago, I'm addicted to this song. No matter how many times I listen to it you guys always make me burst in tears. the song, the meaning, the melody, your voices everything is just perfect .....
@@TotsNater What? - just because I don't like this, you think I'm a Karen? I could have said what I really think - it's a bunch of commercialised crap, on a par with boy bands of the past, designed to appeal to idiots with no taste, like you. As evidenced by the musically ignorant comments below.
@@edeledeledel5490 Wow. I forgot I even made this comment. But yes, you're still a Karen. Would you like to speak to the music manager? Stick with your Wolfe Tones and Irish Rovers, who these days sound like they're going to keel over at any second.
@@TotsNater Wolfe Tones for f*cks sake! They are worse than this sh!t. And the Irish Rovers are almost as bad. What on earth makes you think I like Irish Show Band clones? Try the Bothy Band, Or Planxty. Or Kate Rusby. Or Paul Brady & Andy Irvine. Or Dervish. Or Fairport Convention. Those who don't sound as if Simon Cowell has produced them for the delight of people who have never been to a real folk club, or listened to real folk music.
Is there anything more beautiful than this song...I simply LOVE Irish songs and ballads and there is no other place like Ireland ♥
This song literally brought me to tears
Me as well, I am not ashamed to admit it!

My ancestor was a thief from Ireland, who came to Canada to escape the law. I feel the same.
My great grandfather was a teenage member if the IRA who was shipped to Boston for the same reason during WW1.
I have always loved Irish music. :) This is lovely. I can't believe I'm the first to comment. This should definitely have more views than it does.
Same
❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I love this tune - such a great version!

Feels like a sea shanty. I don't know if sea shanty belongs to country genre though?
So powerful

Your sing is so clean, your notes are so regular. Very hard to sing this song. Congratulations !

Ireland received the Muslim army well 😂
Nice folk song ruined by turning it into an orchestral piece, and losing all trace of real emotion in favour of noise and fury.
Okay, Karen.
