If I were you I would concentrate on insulation first, then heat pump. Those dormers leak heat if not properly insulated, Have you got any insulation in them even. I’ve just done one of my dormers as a room in room and the effect has been really good, something to consider first
Yeah we had a new roof and added 75mm to the sides of them. Previous owners had them built with glass sides, they had cracked and then just put cladding on the outside and uninsulated plasterboard in the middle. I am thinking of insulating the ground floor as its a constant source of cold and discomfort
@ Good to know, my house is a 1867 build so I’m doing fabric first, 300mm sheep’s wool in the loft, Passive vacuum glass retro fit then getting a heat geek survey early in the new year 👍
@@johnb7644 yes I've done the small bit of loft space I have above the room in loft bits myself with 300mm Rockwool but the eaves next to the dormers only have 50mm in the slope if that makes sense. But I do keep reminding people that heat pumps don't need insulation anymore than gas but it may save me some money on radiator upgrades (and that might be quite a big part of my installation costs)

@ I used some aerogel insulation down those slopes, it wasn’t a easy job but well worth the effort
I'll look that up thanks
