Nothing to do with that the issue is that he is lean back way too much for no reason when you hit notes if you have to lean back or etc just don't look like you about to fall bruss, you can lose sound (which you are correct) and you'll hurt yourself
No, not really. Trumpets are already pitched higher than mellophones, so hitting what the music society would consider a screamer note wouldnt take as much effort as trying to hit what the music society calls a screamer note on a mellophone.
Learned mello over a summer because we would’ve had no mellos otherwise and my band director wrote in a 4 count 16th note run up to a C above staff, was hella fun but screwed with me hard at first. I played trombone and Sousa before.
The highest note for Soprano Trumpet is double C or double concert Bb. You played double concert F on both or double G on Trumpet. That pitch is the highest note for a 6 foot long F Alto instrument. Naturally a 4.5 foot long Soprano Trumpet can go a third higher to double Concert Bb (double C). F Alto Mellophone - Bb Soprano Trumpet.

That high note you hit was a C above the staff for mellophone and transposed on trumpet is G above the staff for trumpet.

@@mambojazz1 it's not that hard. It's easier than trumpet especially when using a jet tone trumpet mouthpiece.
@@nathangeorge4214 Yeah it is much easier, but still impressive. I do agree that he seems to be forcing it too much.
The trumpet is much harder to scream on. Besides, an E is not even in double range which is not even close to screaming
Considering a mellophone is keyed a perfect 4th below trumpet, mellophone e would be harder to scream on

Their mouthpieces are extremely are very hard to scream on Ive tryed and its super hard. I played trumpet and I don't have bad range
I don’t think so, mellophone is Keyed lower than trumpet and the trumpet mouthpiece is a bit easier to play high on
No it’s not

what mouthpiece do u use? right now I'm using a 1 1/2c trumpet Kelly mouthpiece and j can hit and E above the staff sometimes a double F

Maynard Ferguson did this in his cover of Birdland
Please stop moving when you play that high. Any large movement can cause oxygen to be wasted.
Exactly
This was painful
That's quite high.
correct term is screech not scream just FYI :P
+mini hoov
Its scream.
twothousandcookies must be different in different parts of the u.s.
Ive always heard/read it as
scream = super high note
screech = bad sound quality, trying to play higher than you can
twothousandcookies see where i am we call your definition of screech pinching/blatting and screeching is a super high note.
its scream
Is he playing on the trumpet 3c or the mellophone 3c?
Bach 3C for trumpet.
+ChizAfterHours I tried doing this with a faxx 3c mouthpiece but it doesn't even come close to this
+ChizAfterHours does it have to be a Bach?
+Thundii His normal mouthpiece is a Bach 3C, in the video he is using a Jet Tone BC...sorry if that was confusing.
I can do this on a 7c😂 and a 3c

hey I do trumpet and mello too
