    Just traded up from the 650 to the 690Q and so far could not be happier. Had watched this video before I upgraded and it is extremely helpful. Just watched a small section again to get more understanding now that I have the machine. Very pleased. Thank you to everyone at Village Sewing in Santa Rosa!

    I purchased this machine today February 11, 2022 to replace my Husqvarna Viking SE that needs a Mother board, which is no longer available. I cannot afford a new embroidery machine; therefore, I decided to go with this model. This model has everything I wanted and more. Have watched this video twice and am now ready to unbox and setup and get to finishing the 5 quilts I have in progress. Fabulous video, THANK YOU!

    This tutorial taught me so much about my new machine. I have a Tribute 150C and this was the closest I have found to teach me about my machine. Thank you.

    I have learned so much about a machine I have had for a few years. The shop course that I did wasn't as thorough as this and lasted all day! (Luckily free!) Thank you so much. I might enjoy using it more in future. Just need to buy some time and some brains.

    How helpful! Thank you! I just bought my Opal. I am so happy.
    I was curious to see what UA-cam videos were out for my model and found you. This was great and new users should watch this. You covered everything clearly.
    They should include your link with every machine they sell.

    I was looking to buy a new sewing machine and after watching this video I knew this was the machine for me. It's such fun to sew with (I've been doing quilting and applique) and if I forget how to do something I can just come back to this video. Everything is explained really clearly. Thank you for doing it.

    Thank you for a very comprehensive run through of such a brilliant machine.
    I got mine for Christmas and I love it,
    most of the things had been figured out by playing, sewing and just pressing the buttons and seeing what happened.
    But there was still lots I hadn't figured out yet.
    Now I need the quilting extension table and I will be very happy

    Thank you for such a comprehensive overview. I have been unsure of where to start getting to know my new machine being used to very “simple” ones I was beginning to regret buying such a “clever “ one but after watching this video right through to the end I now have the confidence and understanding of all the good things I can do. to start using all the extras. Thank you again.

    Thank you so much for such an awesome tutorial for this machine! I have so far only sown for a few days, but I find it helpful to have a video instead of just the included manual sometimes, like when it comes to winding the thread. I have placed this video in my favorites so I easily can go back and check out some tips and ideas.

    Thank you there were tips I hadn’t realised existed I really enjoyed being able to do something as simple as “basting” I haven’t had my machine very long and was frustrated that I couldn’t work out which was the actual stitch I had been lengthening the straight stitch. I just need to find some classes that teach quilting.

    Looks like the weakest part of this machine is this ancient touch screen which is not sensitive enough. You have to press several times the same "back" button e.g. when selecting fabric settings. They should update the screen to color one with better resolution and sensitivity like e.g. Pfaff ambition 630 has. Otherwise this looks great machine. Don't know should I end up to Pfaff instead of this??? Anyway, great video!

    This review is fantastic. I just bought this machine 2 weeks ago. I love it more and more. Thank you so much for making and sharing this review. Do you know that is the thickest thread that can be used in the machine? I tried using some thick uv protection thread for a surfboard bag that will be stored outside. The machine had trouble with the thread. Thank you.

    I keep re-watching this video. You say in the beginning that the little piece at the top is ONLY for winding the bobbin, but you don't use it all for winding the bobbin in this video. I'm having trouble. I can't wind my bobbin. What am I doing wrong? Why don't you use that little thread tension for bobbin winding??

    • @marylynch282
      @marylynch282 5 років тому

      I have been watching sapphire and opal videos in comparison shopping. On a sapphire one (similar bobbin wind set up) it was mentioned the little knob is used when you aren't winding the bobbin thru a threaded needle.

  • @scorpiomk1
    @scorpiomk1 4 роки тому +1

    The upper thread is NOT threaded correctly ! The thread MUST run clockwise, NOT the yarn roll !! This is also stated in the manual. The photo is misleading.
    The thread is also NOT threaded correctly. The thread MUST be led to the far left after the "click" under the nose. Also is so in the manual and is also recognizable in the photo
    Greetings from Germany
