I've got so much respect for slick defensive fighters. I don't think those who have never stepped in a ring understand how difficult it actually is to get away with that kind of excessive head movement and look good doing it. It's a shame we'll probably never see him or Savon turn professional.
Joe McCallum Savon retired a long time ago man
Why won't he go pro?? Is it because dominant defensive fighters who don't speak English aren't marketable??
@@treroney4720 Cubans aren't allowed to go pro because they're against capitalism, the only way they can go pro is if they defect/flee from the state. But that would mean heavy penalties for their family and relatives back home.
@@dariog3738 Cubans are allowed in the olympics as it's amateur boxing, but they're not allowed to turn pro
@@skippylegrandgourou777 no that savon dude. He meant Erislandy Savon, Felix's Savon relative.
Excelente nuestro boxeo Cubano.
This dude is a mix of willie pep, muhamad ali and floyd mayweather, big up for this dude 🙏🏻
This is how people box in their imaginations
And dude's a light heavyweight and moves like that, If I hadn't read the description I'd have thought welterweight. Got to keep an eye on this one
yeah he's quick im fast for my size as well but he moves so fluid
@@MyCesarman no power lmao
Joseph The Great neither did ali
@@truth4099 All heavyweights have power. May not be Wilder's power, but their punches hurt the most
He reminds of pernell whitaker
Smart guy with incredible reflexes
Hazagod we need an Andy Cruz Gomez hl one of these days!
Mongoose reflexes is what i'd describe this guy as... really entertaining i can see him making it big with good ppv figures if he decides to turn pro
Yeah bro he would do well as a pro but he is older now and also being from Cuba is unable to turn pro!
Ronan Decierdo why can't he turn pro just curious i know cubas really messed up with legislation but is this the reason he's 30 and in the amateurs with such skill....Al haymon needa get that kid in the states....he can fill an MGM
Yeah it is illegal that is why most Cubans are older and still in the amateur game, that is also why they are most suited for it and do so well. It is unfortunate that talent like that is unable to go forward.
+xIsM +SP 3 also I think that they have to actually sneak out the country if they do want to turn pro I'm not sure but I think that is wat the other Cuban pros had to do!
He's definitely highly, defensively skilled. It's amazing how the pre1950's Cuban style differs so much from today's emphasis.
Still waiting for an elite Cuban boxer-puncher to come along
Would you consider Luis Ortiz a boxer/puncher? I know he's not had much of a chance to display his boxing ability but he can certainly punch and had over 300 wins in his amateur career I believe. I think he's the closest thing to what you're looking for right now.
haNZAgod Yes. Ortiz is definitely a boxer-puncher. I meant in the lower weight classes. Someone like Gamboa I don't consider elite, stylistically.
Anthony Joshua is a boxer/puncher as well. His counter punching is one of the best in the division.
Look up Arlen Lopez! Boy can HIT.
AJ still needs to prove hisself... he's indeed a really good fighter and imo is the future of the division but as of right now he's still developing wouldn't jump straight into calling him a boxer puncher
amazing
Real artist here!😍
Him and Savon are the best Cuban boxers of all time to me
Teofilo Stevenson #1 in my opinion
reminds me of like Nicolino Locche
This dude beat Egor, a legendary amateur.
Nice
unico boxeador!!!
The best. La sombra.
won gold at rio
Hey man, could you please do a highlight video on Carlos Cuadras, the super flyweight champion? I'd like to know more about him as he has the upcoming fight against Chocolatito but he doesn't really have noteworthy fights to watch, from what I've heard. Thanks and nice video, as usual.
I've got a Cuadras highlight up on my 2nd channel mate: ua-cam.com/video/dmBmwZkX2S4/v-deo.html
he has won the gold in Rio
La Cruz is showing clasic boxing from 1930 or before that ..a lot of peo0le don't like that .but that is what boxing is about give and dont.get ...to me he is a super boxer.just check he's acomplich as boxer
The way this guy fights reminds me of being in a really aggressive mosh pit.
Lmfao I see it😂😂😂👌
Song? please reply
The truth
Music??
1:29 OMG
like a young ali
I agree. He reminds me of Ali!
Reminds me to naseem hamed, this guy is very quick for his weight
More like a mixture of Ali and Naseem
Agree
me recuerda a emanuel augustus el drunken master
This guy gotta turn professional right now
sadly it's very difficult for cuban boxes to turn pro. It's a shame because they have an incredible skillset.
@@Godkiller08 they’re allowed now
I don't really know much about how ametaur bouts work but why isn't he or his opponents wearing headgear or tank tops?
that's amatuer boxing bro all top fighters like Anthony Joshua and wilder were all amatuers before turning professional.
+Luis Lopez fuck up u don't know shit about boxing
The ones were he's not wearing a vest is the World Series of Boxing tournament but amateurs don't wear head gears anymore.
how's he not pro yet?
He doesn't want to turn pro yet. He's Cuban, he'd have to defect.
he's 26/27? he's getting older obviously why would he not want to though? surely he wouldn't have that long of a career.
Well there are a number of reasons, one of the main ones being that he'd have to leave his country forever.
so he may never become a pro fighter? this guy is super good
That's a likely possibility, same goes for most Cuban amateurs.
Man I’d love to see him defect and go pro. I know it’s not happening but one can dream
He went pro
But why is speed up?
What do you mean?
P4p best in the world
.
Doesn't work in pro ((
Everyone says this but why won’t it, Ali could do it. If you’re fit enough to go 12 rounds then why not
that low guard will ultimately get him knocked out badly.
The Kid he just got knocked out by our American Khalil Coe
you were right, khalil coe knocked him out recently at the chemistry cup in germany
and khalil just had 25 amateur bouts then
@@cordneyellis442 the count was at 8 when he was up and ready and for some inexplicable reason the referee decided to stop the fight. Watch it again.
So what?? He will stand up and continue to be the best
