Adding Widenings to Civil 3D Offset Alignments

- In this session we’ll learn how to create offset alignments and widenings. These objects can be used to represent many of the parallel entities associated with a linear design. (ROWs, Medians, lane edges, shoulders and ditches are good examples.) Since these entities maintain a dynamic relationship to the parent alignment, any changes made to that alignment will also update the offsets!

I'm certain I've watched nearly every video you've provided! Praying for the day you make a video about editing complex alignment geometries, if that day ever happens; I might finally understand how I can edit constraints, curves, straight segments in the middle of my alignment geometry without causing myself a never-ending headache, forfeiting, and creating a new alignment.

Blows 12d model out of the water! Impressive.
@@isaacyoung5752 Most Australian firms use MX for highways anyway. Doing this widening alone in 12d, even if using a snippet, is far more time consuming, especially if you computate the lane widths to change with the road centreline.
12d to their detriment has made zero effort in updating their interface which lends to it having a steep learning curve. There's no intuition, and youtubing a problem won't net you results like this.

Your tutorial is awesome. Thanks. is it possible to apply offset alignment for non-parallel widening? i.e. i need to transition from 2 lanes (12') to 4 lanes (12' lane) and approx 3' shoulder? my transition include a curve 2000' R a tangent 300' and a curve 2000'.

Sir its tealy helpful video. Sir here i have one question i have facing 1problme when i create target offset corridors horizontal target are found perfectly but vertical taget are not found. I want to display my horzontal offset elevation on plan view but its not working. Pls help mn. Note i am create offset alignmnt from a polyline
