Got myself a round wheel and a shifter for the road cars (already have the GT style one from ACC) and a two weeks payed leave from work, starting on 16th, so safe to say I'm taking the plunge :)
I thought about the companion app idea too, I think it could make sense, but otherwise, community driven events also makes sense (especially with the discord they are setting up) also, good vid :)
Everything in Early Access is going to be free so that means if you buy the game day one in early access, you don’t have to buy the additional content added. That being said they have mentioned they want to keep the tradition they had with AC that was successful, to provide additional packages as DLCs as well as free updates and free content. I think that last part will be V1.0 and further on though. This first car pack might be just them as saying this is the first set of cars to be added.
I don't like the sound of the mods being curated. Part of what made the first game great was getting mods for things they could NOT get licensing for in the base game. Hoping proper open modding support will continue to exist for their sake.
well then you will have to stick to AC because it's not going anywhere. That will still be the everything game, this won't. They want good mods that don't infringe on licenses they already have. EVO will never reach the crazy mods of AC, but it won't matter so much if they keep delivering great content themselves like free roam areas. AC has TOO much choice imo, it's choice paralysis.
See this is something I just want to wait and see how they do it before coming to premature conclusions as I get both sides of this but ACE is never gonna be the OG like we know it. We are all used to how mods have carried the game for years but this is a different game with a different approach this time so time will tell to see how its fully going to work. I prefer this over no mod support whatsoever any day of the week.

Will buy it day one

Yeah good idea and thanks!
Looking forward to the Lotus
When they say "Car Pack" does that mean we will have to buy a bunch of DLCs, or will the base game have every car

So, does this mean it will be available on Steamdeck from day one? Obvs no idea if it will play well or not!
To be honest, I have no clue. There is no mention of whether it will or not and the steam page just says 'unknown' so your guess is as good as mine.
@MaverickRNG yeah, will hold fire to see if anyone manages to get it working on the deck.
While I am very much looking forward to this game, I will be waiting to buy it only after they've added free roam.
Understandable
Already got some steam gift cards I'm so ready. I want a jdm pack asap
Well they did unveil some more cars today for EA launch including a S2000.
