Mam I have a doubt.how to make kids know that a particular vowel in a word will sound only long vowel or short vowel nu.? Avangalae epdi read panumbodhu kandupidikavekuradhu mam ? Mathapadi en kid read panidra except for the long and short vowel sound .coz everytime nandhan solavendiyadha iruku like idhu long vowel idhu short vowel nu.

Thats a common problem with every children mam. If the child has good English knowledge it will be easy. For that they should listen more. Read aloud stories daily so that vocabulary will increase.

Initially spellings will be easy if they sound out and write . once they are good in reading they gradually switch to spell by letter names. Depends on the child.
But writing with sounds is easy
