  • A huge THANK YOU to the PandemiDiarios on the Border Program for the grant award to pursue this project. To the O'odham people, I have been a guest here for over 10 years. May this documented piece of historical anecdotes remind you of what your community overcame in 2020.

I can definitely relate. I alot of ppl at my tribal college didn't turn on their cameras either, school was very stressful at home.

Do you think it would've helped if your fellow students in classes thought of everyone as family, so that zoom wasn't, "class intruding at home," but instead as "inviting cousins into your home?" I'm just throwing out an idea; I don't know which nation you're from and what your culture is like. But it's always important to make education work _with_ how people think, because that's how people learn. And culture shapes thought.

So, JD, first off: _This is AWESOME!!!!_ You clearly have what it takes to become a documentary producer!
Second, is the teacher from the Hopi Nation working at a school in the Tohono O'odham Nation a relative? Because I noticed that she has your (pre-marriage) last name…
