Ube Chiffon Cake

For the purple yam recipe please see my crinkles recipe • Ube Crinkles/ Yam Crin...
For for the swiss meringue butter cream see the mocha Icing • Mocha Icing
For the chiffon Cake
We need
2 1/2 cups cake flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp of ube flavourings
1 tsp of salt
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup milk
8 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
5-7 drops of purple food colouring this can be optional or you can put less
1/2 cup ube ( I use rehydrated purple yam , You can use fresh ube or ube jam) if you use ube jam just decrease the sugar a little bit
For the meringue
8 egg whites
3/4 cups of sugar
1 tsp of cream of tartar
For the Icing
You can use whip cream
cream cheese Icing
of swiss meringue icing which I use I just put 1 1/2 tsp of ube flavouring - Навчання та стиль
I like that when you don't like something (such as a cake design), you go back to change it and it comes out looking better. That's not something I see in a lot of cake-making videos. It's awesome, so thank you!

Thank you for this video. I might try making this for Thanksgiving or Christmas. I like to do something different each year, and bring things my family likely hasn't had before. Usually people like what I bring (the lemonade pies were a hit), sometimes it's more hit and miss (some people loved the marshmallow pies, but some just couldn't stand them). This ube chiffon cake looks like it would be well-liked by everybody. Yes, I think I will.

I made this cake turned out wonderful, my kids love it! One down to this is, it's doesn't taste that good the next day. The cake is crumbly...

Hi! I have tried some of your recipes and they taste so good! Thank you so much for sharing. By the way, do you have a particular site/reference that you follow when you convert cups to grams or vice versa? I measure ingredients through grams, though I searched for cups to grams conversion. However, there are a lot of references and differences with regards to the conversion. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you!

It looks good but it needs more stuffings and better decor cuz your decor is more for the month of December holidays (we don't celebrate christmas) - the sample you showed here has a really nice and simple floral decor which would have made your ube cake look amazing. I'm gonna see if I could use a white fondant instead of the ol' icing and something pastel inspired fondant decor since I'm planning to bake it for my princess who's turning 21. She wanted me to use tapioca pudding as the cake stuffing and don't think I'll be doing that. Possibly white chocolate or vanilla cream instead.
***If you have any better idea for the stuffing besides the one you used and mentioned here in the video, I would really appreciate it if you can share them with me. As long as it's nothing chocolate, toffee or caramel. Thanks and Shalom. 💖JZiELLE👩🏻

yes you can temp will be the same baking time will increase by 10 minutes

+brukesheeld 160 deg c preheat oven atleast 15 minutes, 30-35 minutes or until When you insert skewer in the middle of the cake and the skewer comes out clean

I made the cake only without the icing. The cake taste bland. 😑 Do you have any advice? I really wanted to make it perfect next time.

Use half vegetable shortening
Can I use a pan with a removable bottom. That’s the only pan I got. Will it affect the cake if I turn it upside down. My problem also with chiffon is the top will not come out dry but rather so moist it detached when I turn it over. Yes it is cooked already
You can use you pan , its ok if you turn it upside down. Do not grease the pan but male sure to put baking paper at the bottom.

M Maurer hello I use ube powder as well, I put down the link of my ube crinkles in the description box where I show how to rehydrate the ube powder just follow the recipe and that will give you enough ube to use for the cake and ube crinkles

Hi i love your recipe tastes perfect! But i always find that when i turn it upside down to cool down the cake falls out of the pan. I dont grease them on the sides just baking paper at the bottom :(
