DIY Switch Puller Tutorial: • How to Make the Best S...
Today I'm taking a look at the popular Gateron switch puller and comparing it to a cheaper alternative that has recently come onto the market. As an added bonus, I'm going to be comparing both the Gateron puller and the cheaper model (I call it the switch grabber) to the DIY switch puller that I made in a previous video.
I know many of us have asked, "why is the Gateron switch puller so expensive?" While I can't answer that question, I can at least offer a Gateron switch puller alternative.

I honestly didn't even plan that. I noticed that the switch hit the board in the right spot to make that effect work while I was editing, and knew what I had to do.

ngl the gateron one looks better. seems like it'l make switch pulling a lot more efficient.

As long as the switch isn't damaged or fused to the hot swap sleeve, you're right. I kinda trust the build quality on the cheaper one more though, since there are fewer possible failure points.

Honestly, it is a tool you will use for a long time.. does it matter to save the amount of dollars for some unproven ones ?

Teh gateron puller has actually been shown to wear out after as little as one keyboards worth of switches. If this thing is durable than it's already better than the Gateron puller.

If anyone pays $35 for that, they are getting ripped off. I got it at Microcenter for $4.

The Gateron switch puller is notoriously bad. Use it for a little while and the puller pins get bent out of shape making it useless.
