The game 6 win was maybe the most important start in NATS history and boy did he deliver
As a HUGE Astros fan, congrats to him on a great career, forever a 2019 World Series Champion, Enjoy retirement, you will be missed
2019 made me a baseball fan again, thanks Stephen. I'm 68
Bought the majestic jersey too back in 2012. Saw him pitch against the Orioles and knew something big was coming, and he could hit a homer! Played the game as well and pitching was my forte. Cut - Fastball, slider and could throw a 12-6 curveball. Tunneling! Its an art form! When you get the batter to flinch in the batters box were the days!
my favorite baseball player
I never forget this career
Proud of you Stephen! He was always the nicest dude in high school. Hometown hero for sure.
Will always be my favorite SP of all time.
Just like Andrew Miller is my favorite RP of all time.
My top 3 favorite pitching motions of all time;
1. Strasburg
2. Miller
3. Lincecum
Thanks for everything, Stras! ❤
Braves fan here he gave us trouble for YEARS and I still hate seeing him go
This guy is a legend the best Washington national pitcher
Huge legacy for D.C.
If only he wasn’t injured, definitely would be in the conversation for hof
Maybe even one of the best picthers
THANK YOU STEPHEN!!! DC WILL NEVER FORGET
Just read about his retirement and came looking for highlights. Glad this was up and ready! Even as a Mets fan I can appreciate dominate pitching and respect what he did for Washington baseball.
The best pitcher in Nats history and WS MVP for one of the most amazing postseason runs in baseball history. Thank you Stras!
Respectfully, that title belongs to Max Scherzer
2nd
Max sherzer is first
He definitely made that #1 overall pick worthy.
Lamento mucho este retiro😢
Thank you for everything Stras ❤
Strasburg fue un gran lanzador
Wow I forgot how devastating that changeup was. It's right up there with the Milwaukee closer and Trevor Richard's change up. Probably 80 to 90% of the strikeouts were on that change up and making professional hitters look silly
Absolutely Nationals legend with Max
He was fun to watch. I wish he could have stayed healthy longer. He really had about a good 8 year run. Enjoy retirement.
@1:51 Still gives me chills.
Retiring as a World Series champion. Great career.
I dont watch mlb but i remember when he got drafted cant believe its been 13 yrs.
I was thinking about him an hour ago lol
245 million dollars for 8 games, what a robbery!
Don't be jealous
@@moose7266Huh???
Thought he had already retired lol. Certainly seemed that way. Nice career but often injured. Overhyped
Literally won them a World Series 😂
Waste of contract except for the World Series.
Will be glad to see Strasburg’s number retired at Nats Park one day!
Congrats on a great career Strasburg 🫡
Jeesh I remember when he was a top prospect. Where'd that time fly 😳
Dude played like 3 seasons lol
*13
Without injuries, he would have had a hof career imo
THIS KID WAS AWESOME..WOW THATS SAD..LOOKS LIKE HE COULD OF BEEN THE BEST EVER MAYBE
13 years career??
Yup
13 year career? That's a STRETCH, which Stras apparently didn't do enough. Broke just as he got a huge contract and killed the NATS. Proof of the risk of paying guys. More like 8 year career and the rest paid to keep his butt in butter.
@@johnbailey7105 Not sure how you stretch out nerve pain/damage, but sure.
Winning a chip gives ppl passes. This guy is the epitome of that.
Se debió haber retirado desde que comenzó, anos y años lesionado.
About time, only about two years too late
Gave his life to end the Astros
What he could've been if not for injuries...
You think about what he could have been 😔
Bust
2019 WS against the cheating Astros. He knew he wasn't gonna be the same pitcher coming outta that series... but he knew he wasn't coming outta that series without a ring either. Enjoy your retirement. Baseball tips it's hat to you, Sir.
Strasburg... Shoot the med ball like a basketball
PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN WATCHING MLB FOR YEARS??!!! 🖐
A major great player is retiring and you are too busy begging for likes 🤦♂️
95 or do
WWF too 😊
@@chuklzzzzthis kid probably never watched 11-19star burg he was prob born in 2016
Kid you have a Fortnite logo
By far the worst contract in the history of sports and a perfect example of how crazy pro sports have become when it comes to contracts and what a gamble they can be for owners.
Too bad injuries destroyed his career as it's not like he meant to go down as the guy with the worst contract in the history of sports.
👏🏽🇩🇴
eat and run!!!
De los peores contratos este ha sido uno de ellos
13:48 the cheating Astros and the terrible GM that did nothing about it!
The worst contract in mlb history congrats 😂. What a thief. Should be arrested for stealing 250 million.
First comment!!!
why? lol
he led league in innings pitched his last full season... but he has that awesome Silver Slugger award too!
why not be an always injured DH?
who?
but I bet his ROOKIE Card will go way way up in value now!
