Having a healthy distance between work and personal life has always been considered a smart and practical practice... So it's interesting that there seems to be some expectation for you and others on youtube to not have any boundaries. I think it's very important to have healthy boundaries in every life senario. The fact that you are speaking up and clearly articulating how YOU would like to be treated and owning your personal feelings on how you relate to the world it's quite brave and real and that's a powerful thing! Take care xx

Cha Cha I wish more companies established the boundaries for customers in how they treat their staff. Unfortunately, some companies are so afraid to lose customers that they let being verbally abusive to their employees and the employees would have to suck it up if they don’t want to lose the job.

Oh no I really think you guys should let your fears guide you and start a youtube channel! I believe that the things that you want to do but are too scared too are the ones with the highest reward. At the end of the day the people who are hating are also filled with hatred and I feel sorry for them. They are incapable of loving themselves so they can't love anybody else so they go and spread negativity everywhere! However YOU could actually be a positive force on the internet and a happy place. I can be your first subscriber! 😘

I remember the first time someone didn't like me for no reason. And it drove me crazy. I asked everyone who we were mutual friends with to find out why she didn't like me. And I got no answers. Finally my sister said to me,"Listen not everyone is going to like you so just deal with it!" That comment changed everything for me. I was like "oh"!! So when people are nasty just delete because most of them time it's them not you. All you can be is you and it's working!

Both the spilling the tea videos are soo good! I strongly believe that getting personal makes you more relatable and just blurs off that image that people have mentally created in their head of you just because you unbox luxury bags or have expensive things. That dosen't makes you less human nor erases the fact that you have feelings. So glad you shared all of this and looking forward for the next vlog (they are the best!) xx Vic 💕

This was such a sweet and honest video from one of my favorite youtubers :) And wow thank you for sharing about your hormone struggles...my husband looks at me like I've grown two heads when I explain my emotions that have been caused by hormone swings and says "I've never heard other guys say their wives complain about that." Well, he's going to be watching that part of your video because he knows I watch you regularly: you're well-known and successful and have still had those issues. Years ago in my early 20s I had a couple of what can only be described as violent hormone swings because of what they did to me...huge painful cystic acne along the jaw, horrible almost suicidal depression, and a couple of months later, massive hair loss. He could see the physical signs but didn't believe that "just hormones" could be causing my depression as well! Lol! Going to make him watch this! 💕

  • @valeriab.3669

Even people who aren’t working online can relate to the hate subject. I wish I could say that I was never bullied or harassed or talked about behind my back without giving any valid reasons for it by colleagues and even management, but that’s not the case and I think that the only way to not to encounter that is - to say nothing, to do nothing and to be nothing. Working in a physical workplace could be even worse sometimes because you can’t just click the block button. I guess you are completely right and as long as your intentions are good and you are not doing any harm, you shouldn’t be really concerned how other people take your words and actions if they choose to attack you in a nasty way.

I 100% agree with your tweet about needing someone to help with shooting or filming your content when you are on a press trip. I go to blog events by myself and it is such a struggle to take photos of myself at the event when its just me with the camera. I can't even imagine how much harder it is when you are sent on a press trip and you need yourself in the photos.
I really admire how you cope with negative comments, it really does say more about them. You have always created beautiful and inspiring content and I think people forget that you are still a person who reads every single comment that is posted. You deserve every bit of success and your hard work and beautiful content speaks for itself! 💘 💘 xxx

If you’re receiving a lot of the same feedback from something you’ve said - albeit negative - there might be something to learn from that. You might mean well but if people find what you’ve said offensive it may be something you should take on board.

Excellent video, Lydia! It’s a real sign of the times that people have lost their manners and kindness. There’s such a sense of entitlement now in some people; in that they think it’s ok to be rude or aggressive and that this is the way to “get their own way” or their opinion heard. You’re so right to say that maybe comments should be read and re-read before hitting “send” it would save a lot of upset. Success is seen almost as a dirty word these days, and it all boils down to jealousy. Some people should put their energy into building their own success, rather than tearing down someone else’s. You brighten up a day with your videos and show people that hard work pays off! Budgets vary, but dreams are the same for everyone.

I had the most horrific pain from my periods. I don't have words to express how bad it was, had to go to emergency and miss school/Uni/work for days every month. I cannot put it in words how bad it was, it affected me in so many ways. One happy day a Christian woman, who don't know anything about me, prayed for my abdominal pain (i did not even told her about it) and by the Grace of God I was healed. I have been free from traumatic pain since end of 2016 by His grace. I just wanted to share this with you. Blessings.

I am do grateful that you brought up your experience being on the pill. I was on it for years and throughout that time my moods etc were so awful that I ended up on anti depressants- which is soooo not me, I had always been a go getter with a very sunny outlook on life! Then on a whim I went off the pill and could not believe the change in my mental health, absolutely changed my life and I now can’t imagine being back in that awful place. I had no idea that the pill could be the thing causing all of my issues and no doctor ever suggested it as the cause so I feel more people need to talk about it! Obviously the pill is fabulous for some people, but not everyone! 💖

I believe the problem with negativity lies in people being unfulfilled in their lives. I watch GRWM/Travel Vlogs/Style Vlogs/Lookbooks etc. for information, style advice & to watch others BE HAPPY and enjoy life. These people you speak of seem to be so miserable they to want to 'slime' others with their malcontentedness (that is not a word, please do not use it!). As I have matured, I have learned to feel genuine sympathy/empathy for others WITHOUT allowing their issues/negativity to 'invade' my life (trial and error). With that said, I think all of you good people who share your lives and personal experiences with STRANGERS are so brave- VERY brave. Thank you!

Isn't it crazy what we think about ourselves, worry, what others say and how it effects us. You are such a lovely lovely and beautiful person, you make my week every week, seeing your smiling and happy face. Thanks for sharing with us. Xx

I'm much older than you, so the drama that happens on UA-cam and the 'haters', is all beyond me. You have handled it beautifully, with grace and poise - at least what I've seen. Can't imagine anyone thinking you're not a nice person. Keep being the beautiful YOU you are... Belinda xo

As far as friendships go, I have found that you should put a lot of importance with the friend that you have, make them feel so special in every way, even every time you are with them

Screw the negativity, people are only negative when they’re insecure about themselves. Not everyone is 100% perfect and we all have issues we are dealing with just think about what you type/say before pushing your insecurities on others. I for one think you’re a lovely person Lydia so don’t worry about what others say just concentrate on making yourself happy, because if you’re happy then you will succeed in life xx

I don’t usually comment on any videos but I just wanted to say, thank you. I put you video on because I felt myself starting to have a panic attack, having your video on in the background helped me stay calm, and within 5 minutes I was doing my makeup and getting on with getting ready for the day. I don’t follow a lot of other platforms so I don’t see a lot of hate that you speak about it, but just know a lot of it is jealousy. Don’t change, be yourself, lots of us here enjoy your content. X

Im sure you know this already and are thinking of ways to fix it; but just incase you weren't aware, the audio problems are going to be very hard to fix without rethinking the decorating in your dressing room. Its echoing off all of the hard surfaces. I have been dealing with MAJOR audio problems as well and let me just say it is one of the most frustrating things because there is very little information out there for the general public. I bought a $1000 super carotid mic (which is suppose to be the best for echo) and It still echoed. Maybe think about table runners? idk your dressing room is so beautiful the way it is, so its hard. I hope that came across constructive and not rude 😬 xoxo

Oh Lydia, I didn’t think I could love you anymore that I already do but as I’ve watched your channel grow so have you. It isn’t about the end goal it’s about your journey and your process towards it in which the real treasure is found. People act like online creators and influencers are ( or should be ) perfect infallible beings but it’s a two way street. We all bleed red and we’re all learning from you and equally you are learning from your subscribers and others online too. We are incredibly blessed to have you grace our UA-cam channel 💕

I'm sorry you had to go through the hate to get to where you are today. I'm also glad you had supportive fellow you tubers to help you through it and now you are using your experiences to reach out to others. I hope anyone out there struggling with anonymous online haters, gains strength from you and this video. Criticism is rarely constructive and more often than not it's just someone trying to make themselves feel superior. Stay true to yourself Lydia and keep surrounding yourself with positive people. You can always make room for positivity if you push aside the negativity!

I'm glad I watched this! I started watching ur channel 2/3 yrs ago, but tbh, i slowly stopped as I felt like I was always watching u show or shop for designer/high-end products, which to most ppl isn't a realistic life! After watching this, I kinda see a different side to u, & actually a more relatable one. No one should be bullied or made to feel uncomfortable, online or in person! I agree, there are better ways of saying things that aren't rude or hurtful! I'd luv to see vlogs that show more of ur relaxed life, rather than the bougee shopping & products vibe. (Relaxed grwm/event look, get the designer look on a budget, high end beauty dupes, kinda vlogs) xx

Honestly, you get so much hate but to me your hauls are some of the very few that are actually interesting and useful. Your style is quite different to mine but as someone who works in fashion I very much appreciate your attention to to detail and how you describe how thighs fit, look and feel, what the possible pros and cons are, etc. Basically any articulation above 'this is amazing, I love it, *state what colour item obviously is in*' So thank you for that. I'm definitely a supporter of your brand of honesty :)
    P.s. LOVE the 40min+ vlogs!

Hi Lydia, I lost so much hair when I came off the pill for a few months 😢 even though I went back on it like you, my hair never really grew back and I have now accepted the fact that it’ll never be as thick like it used to be - there are worse problems in life and I’m lucky to still have hair 😊

I'm a nurse on a very busy, high stress acute care floor. We deal with a lot of verbal and emotional abuse from patients and their families. I always try to remember to take off my "me" hat and put on my 'nurse' hat; thereby setting a personal boundary of not taking on another's negativity. Maybe try thinking of YT Lydia as a separate hat you wear from the real you! And just keep shining your little light! xx

Lydia, I have a quote that goes “You can’t please everyone, so you might as well please yourself”. Some people are just negative their whole life. It isn’t directed at you but probably just things that have happened to them. I know it hurts, but just keep doing your thing. You are brilliant at what you do and I know you work hard to get that perfection. If possible, try to have sympathy for them. They will never accomplish what you have done. Hope this helps. 🌷

My heart broke watching this video. I don't understand how we have become so inhuman to just hurt people without even thinking twice. Words are so powerful; before typing one must think twice& ask themselves if I was at the receiving hand, how will I feel?
    Kindness is priceless. 💕

I do not know you as a person, and none of your subscribers will ever truly know you completely for the woman you really are. That being sad, I do feel like if a person is genuine, if they have a kind heart, if they are honest, most importantly to themselves, it reflects through them. I don't know whether it is the eyes or somewhere else or the entire aura of a person that gives it away, but, trust me, even without knowing you, and without needing to do so, I know that you are a good person. Thank you for being honest, positive and spreading love instead of hate, which seems to be the realm of the youtube world nowadays. Lots of love, respect, and virtual hugs to you!!

At 11:10 and loving this. I second all the people who say that they wanted to start a UA-cam, but were terrified about what other people would think. I fall into that category. I created a UA-cam and posted it on reddit under a pertinent subreddit and got so many dislikes that I deleted that video [it was a UA-cam channel about conquering life goals]. It tore me apart. You talk about this in such a classy, respectful and kind way. So awesome.

I had an almost identical experience to you with both the coil and the pill! The coil was absolutely horrific, I was in constant pain and my periods would last up to 11 days. The pill just made me feel so awful and low, and I’m so much happier now that I don’t take any hormonal contraception!

I'm not done watching this video but I just wanted to pop in and tell you that I LOVE YOU and you are not hated because most of us don't even KNOW you well enough to hate you. Maybe sometimes people dislike you for personal reasons that they probably can't even explain to themselves but hate is a very STRONG and unrealistic word for people to use towards you when they don't know. LOVE IS IMMEDIATE and genuine because you often know when there is good in someone's soul before even meeting them. I love your videos, and your personality, and your style, and do not force yourself to change unless it ultimately benefits YOU!

I love everything about you .. Girl you #Goals ❤️❤️❤️
