Really only $2000 a night? A regular club level room runs around $1500 a night. I’ve got to get in this room. Wow thanks!
They oversold our room this last Dec. when we stayed there ,and they upgraded us to this room as well! Once in a lifetime experience I am sure! LOL Fireworks were amazing! They even had a full size Christmas tree in the living room!
If you ever needed a sign that Disney don't actually hate Tom and WDWNT, this is it. They know giving him the Presidential Suite, that would otherwise be unoccupied, is free advertising.

How many shades of beige can you have a in a room? I suppose you are paying for the location & the space,certainly not the decor!
Shocking how ghetto WDW resort rooms are even at this level. Not that this is a bad room by any means but it’s certainly can’t hold a candle to most “presidential” suites. It’s plain and uninspired other than the location / view with the given patio space. Nice treatment by the GM of the hotel. Wouldn’t happen that way with even 50-60% capacity.
To me it's a good mix of minimalism and nostalgia from the late '70s and early '80s, but I can see where someone would expect more. I would like to stay there; it looks relaxing and spacious.
meanderingmouse Trust me, I’ve been to over 50 of America’s biggest tourist spots and have stayed in some of the nicest hotels in the country and that room is in my top 5, I had that room in January and it was so much fun
meanderingmouse well most WDW resorts that I have stayed in are very nice but in my opinion they need to completely redo the contemporary because you can obviously tell that it’s an old hotel
Big Unit I’ve travelled the world. I stayed in a suite at The Westin in Shenzhen, China that put this room to shame. Heck, the Charles Lindbergh suite at MCO’s Hyatt Regency gives this a run for its money. Most Vegas rooms knock the dust off every WDW room on property and can be had for $220/nt (we know they don’t make money off those rooms - it’s on the floor where the cash falls). Again, it’s a great room with great patios and, of course, a great location. I just wouldn’t call it a presidential suite. Why not name it The Roy Disney Suite like on DCL (been for Lucky enough to stay in both royal’s on the older ships - Walt’s and Roy’s - very nice rooms for a boat but I prefer concierge on The Fantasy). If you have stayed in many hotels around the world, heck, you know very well that WDW resort rooms are nothing to write home about. They’re small, overpriced, and not kept up very well. Location is what you’re paying for. Best Disney resort location I’ve stayed in with very nice rooms? The Mira Costa at Tokyo DisneySEA. Hands down the most special Disney hotel in the bunch! Even that hotel gains most of its points because of its location, though. What a place!

I think that telling people that it is reasonable to request changing rooms after a few nights at a hotel due to limited cleaning is inconsiderate. Now if you have an issue when you check in thats one thing. But if you have been there for a few days its your dirt! You need new towels or empty garbage they will do that. Also I’m sure manger will be happy that you said that you rec’d as an upgrade due to a minor issue, There will now be people requesting upgrades for minor issues.
Could not agree more! You know Disney is limiting housekeeping before arrival. It's a very unreasonable request.
I don't feel he was suggesting people request this upgrade. He just explained the situation. Every situation is unique and how it is handled is unique. It may have been completely empty at that hotel the day he stayed or a wing under construction. Just my opinion on this.
I could watch Tom search for light switches for hours.

Suite by Ikea! Cheapest looking 'top of the line' suite I've ever seen.
I actually was thinking that too. They spent far less furnishing this suite, than they charge for a night or two.
To put it in perspective as to the up charge Disney does. This type of room in Vegas would run you about $650-800/night (rack) and it would be at a 5 diamond resort with limo transfer to/from the airport included. Some wouldn't have the balcony this has but 1 does (MGM grand). $650 is close to what you'd pay for a standard room at the Poly during some busy times. It's interesting to note the price per value difference between entertainment destinations.
Didn't want to to be negative, but working in the hotel business I thought that as well. This look more like a luxury bunker. Have the opportunity to see the presidential suite in Coronado springs and it's very pretty compare to this one, same with four seasons on Disney property.

The reason hotels are so cheap in vegas is because they expect you to spend crazy amounts of money in the casino, more than what you would spend at a day in the parks. And second, Disney world is designed for the top 10% in the country while Vegas is made for a more wide range of people

Oh my god. This is incredible. That’s gotta be several thousand a night. The bathrooms are all twice the size of my bathroom at home. If I ever got the chance to go to Disney for an extended trip (I’m talking like a month) and I’ve won the lottery, I’ll stay here lol.

Just no, you don’t sleep a dozen people in a Presidential Suite. You reserve it for the space and comfort for you and maybe a spouse and a couple of kids, at most. Actually I was kind of disappointed in the level of decor and amenities in the Contempo’s suite, compared to some of the newer resorts on property. In December, we were upgraded to one of the top suites at the Gran Destino. It was every bit as nice, despite being a moderate.

Wow that room is Huge! I dont blame you one bit if you stay in that large room all day .looks very comfortable and relaxing.thats Disney plus it to the next next level.Enjoy!😁👍
As a kid, my family stayed in what has to be this *exact* suite back in the ‘80s. The furnishings etc are obviously updated. I’ll never forget it. (Nor will I ever be able to afford it lol). Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I would order some food and hang out with those Warhols as well. Hand painted, which means he touched them, and he was an artist who wanted to remove the artist fingerprint from the paintings (at least in his Pop 1960s phase), so very special.
That is not the quality I expected from Disney... that just looked like an extended Travelodge...

Looks awesome! I just checked in To Bay lake yesterday and they upgraded me..not us... to a 1 bedroom villa. Its so ridiculously overkill for 1 person. I am so grateful and awestruck at the space.
Where do they call this a "presidential" suite? I've never heard that. It's a 2BR club level suite that consists of two regular sized rooms interconnecting to a living room. It can also be used as a 1BR suite. It costs about as much as you'd expect, roughly 2.5x a club level room. We were upgraded here once as they messed up our reservation, it's certainly a great room, one of the best in all of WDW imo.
It is nice and roomy but I would have looked for it to be a little more plush and elegant looking , I have seen nicer looking rooms at Walt Disney World

The suite is kind of ugly. I mean its big, and lots of room but if I didn't read you were at the contemporary resort, i would have thought you were just in a big room at the hilton. Everything is the same color

I think people's reaction to this "Presidential" suite says a lot about how they travel. People, who for whatever reason, travel cheap will likely love this suite. People who spend the $$ when traveling will not be impressed...at all. Personally, I find the suite roomy, but the decor is uninspired and cheap. And the Walmart patio furniture is a joke - sparse and cheap. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

This looks disappointing, to be honest! It looks boring old-ish and doesn't have a Disney feel! The bathrooms look really bad for such a "luxurious" suite.
That doesn’t happen to normal guests as we complained when we couldn’t get a room with a king size bed as requested when booking at the Grand Floridian a few years ago for our 5night stay, the receptionist apologised but that was it NO extras for us!!!!

This looks cheap! It looks like cheap college dorm furniture. I remember the 70's and the only thing like the 70's is the color. Even the 80's contemporary style was better quality than this.... We Americans have been socialized to accept cheaper quality and pay expensively for it.
