3:00 About premium heroes - what you say only applies to challenges made by players. If Ironhide makes a weekly challenge with a paid hero, everyone can use it.
This got patched out real quickly haha. Now if you haven't bought the premium hero needed the hero you last selected will be summoned (check the last challenge with Karkinos)
@@louisraphael1727 Did they seriously change it so that even in the weekly challenges you cannot use the premium heroes if you've selected them? That's just a low blow honestly.

@@omg4242 Yes, from what I heard, the intended behaviour is what I described and the other behaviour is a bug.
While an update is an update, modding has raised the bar SO high that that a challenge editor just seems lackluster in comparison to everything the community has done.
This is just like btd6 editors, it’s going to really bring the community together
How optimistic! I do hope that this leads to some cool well-known challenges at some point.
The difference is that there are more variables in the challenge editor for bt6, and the bt6 challenges are online with a search bar.
To be honest, I'd be disappointed if the KRF update turns out to be just challenge editor and nothing else considering they teased the 10th anniversary months ago. I think a new stage, a new hero or even just some balance changes would be good enough alongside the Challenge editor.
Yeah, without new content I don’t see it giving players much incentive to even try challenges. A player who's been a fan for 10 years presumably has done a lot of self-imposed challenges themselves already.
I'm ngl all I ask for is an alien campaign, they had parasites and Sha'tra in the same game and no further plans to expand on an alien invasion?
@@Bubbble_Bearever since frontiers i though the Aliens were going to show up in the next game. Origins, Vengeance and Legends passed with no Aliens.
@@perapapic3683 Unfortunately I think its what made Iron Marines and didnt connect it back to KR outside of Sha'tra and the parasites
I dont even think Ironhide tests the levels. One of the ones this week was The Dark Desent, no heroes and only 4 towers that are restricted to Assassins and Archmages. The funny thing is that this is the Iron challenge variant, which, get this, has 5 PREBUILT TOWERS. You can't build anything! You gotta rely on reinforcements and RoF!

I think the levels are just randomly generated, and that's probably the reason why it takes ih so long to release the chalenge editor.

Imagine if they had released a vs mode instead, something the community can't do already.
Ironhide is likely looking into multiplayer options behind the scenes. I heard that Legends was originally supposed to be a pvp game.
@@Voduke789 Well I certainly hope that is the case, I'd love 1v1 Kingdom Rush to become an actual thing. I just hope that if they do, they don't just copy BTD Battles in terms of how the VS element works.
@@HumanoidDerpling I actually wouldn't mind if it was pretty much the same as BTD Battles, it would be fun either way and I think it's one of the best structures for TD PvP anyways
@@XplosivDSi think it could be either that or just tower defense where its more like competitive pve rather than actual pvp. What I mean is that you dont send or control enemies that come to your enemy, you just build your own defense and try making it better than your enemy as much as possible while enemies are going by themselves.

I mean I'm pretty much on board with what you're saying. They would have to work on this a lot more to make it worthy of excitement. I also feel like at this point it would be better to just add more stages to the game instead.

Coming from btd6 this feels quite lackluster
Especially considering btd6 is getting a full on map editor soon.
I have been out of the loop with BTD6 lately. It's been over 2 months since I touched the game. A map editor sounds awesome!

Adding a wave of choice in wave editor would be great and what enemy you put in...I mean just imagine some aliens come from level 4 like the pirate ones (I don't remember what stage or levels because I got too much KR) it would be atleast cool, not sure tho
As much as Junkworld Apple Arcade release piss off lots of people, sadly it has a good reason why its exclusive on AA only.
Junkworld rework just took lot of time, and devs had to decide between two options:
1) cancel JW, giving fans literally nothing
2) take Apple Arcade deal, save the game for only some people
I think its logical that they took the second one. Junkworld is releasing, later on Steam aswell, yet people are pissed because they think canceling JW sounds better. Just why?
Thank you for the confirmation as - like I said in the video - I don't know the details behind the scenes. Unfortunately it still has the same side effect on fan morale, which we can see in the most recent poll I posted where most fans would say Ironhide is only a 3/5 in satisfaction in the past 3 years. Hopefully this is the last time this has to happen.

I know a little bit more about Junkworld, thanks to being beta tester and also num. 1 fan (im not making this up, for devs im literally num.1 fan of JW lol, huge achievement for me ngl).
When I learnt about JW being AA exclusive some weeks ago, I had small talk about this with one of the IH and yeah, they knew very well that fans will not be so happy about this change, even tho it was neccesary for JW to survive.
If everything goes right, it wont happen again. Hopefully. Next game will be for all platforms again for sure, maybe in first half 2024 we get something?

You can't get friends in Frontiers. That tab only adds challenges that tipu entered through by links, even if they're yours.

In my opinion they should add tower editer wich allowe players to create/modify towers and use them in challenges
I've seen more excitement and hype around ten'shi than I did for this whole challenge mode. Who was it made for? Most casuals or revisitors do not care for self imposed challenge type deals, and they might think it's lame because it's not really new content or even something like heroic and iron challenges. It's not made for longtime hardcore fans who were already doing this sort of stuff for years and have basically seen it all. If Ironhide made a new stage consisting only out of already existing art assets for the terrain and enemies, it'd get more excitement than this challenge run. I guess it's better than nothing at all but I seriously wished they'd reconsider and add some other new content instead.

Good idea, not very great execution ngl, if they had made it so you can change more things like health or enemy speed this would've been awesome. but it is still a beta tho.

@@wirral1342 Unfortunately for mobile players, the most viable thing to do will be to rebuy the games on Steam for access to any and all mods. There are many legal bindings that come with modding on mobile that just aren't worth the trouble trying to bypass.

The steam version cost less than the mobile version,the mobile cost 15$ (2$ for buying the game and 13$ for getting all heroes) the steam version cost only 10$,and also the steam version has better graphics,no bugs (i think),no micro transactions and more content (modding).
