60s this weekend and can't wait to see some open water creeks and soak some lines. If something bites, phenomenal but if nothing does... I'll get my kicks here until then.
John that makes me excited for tomorrow we're going to have 72° weather in Indiana in March unbelievable and only supposed to get down to high 50s smallmouth should be moving getting me fired up to catch them fantastical video John love those small mouth
That ckearer water and the sun coming out is perfect for cold spring smallies. Their mean site feeding and that few deg. warmer temp from 10a-2p is ideal.
I’m in Walland haven’t been out fishin yet after the winter we had, but I saw small copper head crossing Tellico river today. Then you put this out, guess it’s time to get in the water.
That looks like a great fly rod creek for smallmouth ... If you ever want a on the water class let me know and I can take a day off from work and we can have some on the water instruction with your 8 wgt.
Great video I love how you fish as an average fisherman. Small boat, kayak, wade , walk the banks showing how you don't need a $60,000 bass boat thanks Chris from OHIO
If I learned anything from this channel it's the Nikko Hellgrammite is a BEAST of a Fish Catching Lure....if they don't pay you as a SPONSOR they should
Maaaaan, I really miss the middle TN area. I’ve been invited back to fish with an old friend and I need to take him up on his offer. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Yes! My favorite kind of fishing! Good to see you catching smallies in creeks again. I love how you explain how you are disectimg the creek and how you are actually using the bait. I need to do more of that. Beautiful place and great video John.
I live in Chattanooga and if you ever want to go I will show you the creek where I caught a 4.6 and 4.9 small mouth and probably a 6+ large mouth. It was this time last year. Haven't hit it yet because with all this rain lake Chickamauga is up so I have been busting some largies. Caught 5.12oz. largie tonight at Harrison Bay. It's got maybe one more good night before it's down to lake bed again and the fish move off the bank but after that back to the creek.
Well John, it's good to see someone starting to catch fish. Thanks for the tips on your hellgrammite technique. Good to see clear water. Our river and creeks are still muddy. It's March, so Kentuckians had to renew their annual license. We are "chompin' at the bit" to get at it ! I noticed the short clip of Cumberland Falls that you posted. Was this your first visit there ? The water is high which makes for dramatic (and somewhat scary) view of springtime runoff. Any chance of fishing video footage from your slightly northern adventure ?? Hope so! Please, always be careful because we can't live without your videos !!! LOL ! Randy B.
Thank you for being a teacher. On my way south to float the Santa Fe, at your suggestion/inspiration. Got hellgramites, Rebel Craw, and Yum Dingers, among other options. Any last minute advice?
Mmmmmman I love your channel mostly because of how excited you get catching fish... Hahahahaha... Man!!! That looks fun... Its been SUPER slow out here on the Northern California Delta... Hopefully that changes this month...
John , Yes I can feel it, can't wait to get out there. God has Blessed You. Fishing is great part of the outdoors and creek fishing is the best. Tim L.
Caught a 4 lb creek largie last week using a black 1/16 ball jig with a bass pro xps smoke pepper crappie grub. They sure love those small slow moving meals when its cold out!
Would you mind telling me what hooks you use to make your swim baits weedless like at the beginning of the video? Great video as always! Hitting the creek tomorrow! Hellgramite all day!
Definitely going to get out later this month or early April. Typically have done IL wading after May 1st but I've got decent BPS waders. I know that there have been missed opportunities. Guys catch them here on plastics in March on the Kankakee River. Very nice tutorial and great to be interrupted by another keeper. Dragging the bottom in the current is key. Thanks for sharing brother man. Blessings 🙌
@@CreekFishingAdventures Sweet!!!!! I can't wait!! It's supposed to snow ❄ 3 inches here in middle TN the end of this week!!! Lows in the teens 1 of those nights 🌙 #crazy
Went down to the creek today and caught my first creek fish of the year. Big ugly red breast. Then I caught my PB creek chub, but couldn't get a picture because he defecated all over my hand in a panic. Then I lost my rebel craw throwing into heavy cover and decided to call it a day because I was getting skunked. I'm so ready for it to warm up just another 10 degrees.
Hey I got a spot it’s a little ways from you but it’s in Sherwood Tennessee close to the alabama line but there is some giant large mouth spots and smallies in it, and maybe if you want to when we get them biting you can go down there one day plus I would love to be in one of your vids
Hey John, if you come to Ohio I've a couple creeks I'd love to hit with you. I guarantee I'll put you on some fish. All I ask, is when you record, kind of hide the area. These spots I'd be taking you to are personal honey holes
Great spot to wade! What kinda waders do you recommend? Do you ever have any issue with private land owners when wading? Love the videos keep up the good work and Go Big Blue!
Hey John, Love your vids man! Quick question, what part middle Tennessee do you fish these beautiful looking creeks? Obviously you don’t have to disclose to me your honey hole! Lol but I am from Missouri and looking for a specific area in Tennessee to embark on an early spring fishing adventure, since it’s too cold where I live. Any recommendations you have is greatly appreciated!!
Hey buddy is the fluorocarbon leader necessary or can I do a straight tie?...I mean I understand the abrasive resistance and lack of stretch in the line but I'm not that good at tieing line to line and ain't that good at knots..just wonderin what you're feedback might be and il appreciate any tips or opinions greatly..thanks and tight lines brother
@@waterdog3978 thanks man..I primarily catfish but you know how it is....while the baits are soakin I'm always makin casts cause my biggest bass I caught tryin to get bluegill for cutbait...got it on a cricket..

You would catch so many more fish if you read the river better and looked for those seams and transitions......that creek looks amazing and being Tennessee their are some giants in it !! We catch smallies over 20" in ohio and we are probably the worse fishing state in the country lol........would love to fish your creeks!!

Grandson is 4, I have a nice small creek running through family property, gotta walk it and fish the holes. I'm taking him.
I used the new black aurora Hellgrammite today and my goodness the smallies loved it

I think every one is ready for spring brother! They're about to start blowing up! Gorgeous creek. Probably looked the same 200 years ago.
Harpeth? Beautiful water wherever it is. Love these videos!!
Planning a trip to Newport in a couple weeks to fish the Pigeon for some pre-spawn smallies!

I love it when you show incidental meets with your subscribers and how much people enjoy it
Time to put the braid back on the fishing reels. Glad winter is almost gone. Frozen eyes and spools make it tough.

I'm in Kentucky too and I'm chomping at the bit to get after them smallmouth. Creeks are in bad shape right now after all the rain.
