He makes some high risk plays and they can backfire, but they can also come through massive. I feel he is also just a well rounded player and can do it all with a very high game IQ.

      @@ordinarilyirresistible6907 plus he's probably the best 2nd man in the game, he can always keep the pressure in the opponent's half, that is what changed in BDS, and now with KC, and his demo game is insane, always clutch demos, even if KC almost suffers a goal, Rise demoes the last man and if Vatira or Atow save it, it's an open net in the other end

    Think these stats could be outliers because the final scoreline comes down to just a few seconds of play. Most of the game is stuck in a stalemate until there is a dramatic break. Only a 3 goal game, so the behavior immediately around those 3 goals are the most relevant to the outcome of the game, and the overall average is mostly stalemate.

    • @keyton1928
      @keyton1928 3 місяці тому +4

      That’s pro rocket league these days. I think performing better in the highlighted stat makes your team less likely to be the one who has a breakdown and loses the stalemate. I personally don’t believe it’s an outlier or unimportant stat because of that reason.

    4:08 Are boost pads coded to be a fraction more than 12 boost? Interesting to see two pad pickups added 13 then 11... Has it always been that way? 🤔

    • @keyton1928
      @keyton1928 3 місяці тому +5

      Has to do with how much boost you have in the tank. It essentially rounds your number, so the boost pad gives you 12, but you may have had slightly less or more than 1 when you picked it up.

    • @jakebrowning2373
      @jakebrowning2373 3 місяці тому

      @@keyton1928 that can't be true. Even if the boost amount is rounded (I believe you), the small boost pad should have added 12 each time. Rounding doesn't explain it adding 13 vs 11.

    It would be interesting to delve deeper into the factors that produce a higher win rate for teams that are more behind the ball. Based on the factors identified, what conclusions will teams draw? By trying to have a style of play that maximizes this statistic, will their win rate increase, or is it another winning factor that produces this high rate behind the ball? Does having a high rate behind the ball correlate with a defensive or controlling team? How much of the current meta is about speed or control? I remember your video about Ahmad and his speed of play, notably thanks to his ability to manage his boost and keep his supersonic speed. You compared speed of play in your last video of the players on the GenG / G2 match and it didn't seem to be a determining criterion. Why didn't it? Is there a levelling out of playing and rotation speed between the pro teams, or do the differences in speed not imply higher win rates?
    As coaches become more professional and analytical, aren't we moving away from a rocket league based more on pure speed and into a rocket league based more on a chess game model like KC's double airdribble bump? (If the theory of speed levelling is correct, then marginal performance gains must be found elsewhere).

    Chess Grandmaster Hikaru said in his recent videos "What Grandmasters learned from the computers that it is okay sometimes to not have a plan"
    I feel like Rule 1 need to play around Nwpo style which is Modern other than what is Khalid and Ahmad is used what I mean by that is prioritize aggressiveness and involvement more than traditional plans that are slow but it feel safe, it is hard to explain but Khalid and Ahmad rely on their conscious decisions instead of trusting their inner confidence, one type of play you see a lot in EU also in the new Falcons is try to challenge and beat the opponent to the ball most of the time and what I think is the one who is challenging is trying to call out the direction where the ball he think it will go to therefore you see someone ready to receive it also I believe EU top teams has insane awareness to their opponent positions that most of the time they might not need to call it as they aware of it.
    Modern RLCS is all about who can be better in directing the play at all times specially around challenges which is tricky to read, sometime I believe some aerial attacks are just distraction for the team to reroute and be prepared to the outcomes of any aerial challenge and carry on the attack, another theory I have is sometimes a team would attack not to aim to score but waste opponent boost and make them position weirdly and prepared to predictable clears
    Moist London Major against Falcons they literally took control of everything, it got to the point where even they would allow falcons to retrieve the ball without any pressure!! AND you see Moist in their half prepared to Falcons attack?!, it felt like Moist did that intentionally making falcons coordination bad and having not enough boost to stop the moist counterattack.
    RuleOne need to really understand it is okay to not half a 100% clear plan.

    Kc has everything... hear me out. Atow has to be the 2nd best offensive player in the world (monkey would be the other arguable for that) rise is the best disruptor and 2nd man in the world and vatira is the best defensive player in the world (in 3s). They have it all and they all can switxh roles too both vati and atow can become disruptor and all are great defensively and offensively. They are all so impressive and truly my favorite players in the scene even when all separate last season. Its so great to see the reunion of rise and vati and then mix in atow and have it actually work in EU of all regions. Great stuff.

    Great Stat. Playing devil's advocate I would suggest that correlation isn't necessarily causation.
    When a team has tremendous pressure, bumps, demos, and boost steals, that team would naturally be behind the ball when they have 80% of the field behind them as they maintain offensive pressure.
    When you're on defense hungry for boost and only 20% of the field to work with, you'll likely push out to grab boost.
    Of course you could argue if they just stayed behind the ball and stayed on defense they would have a better chance to save the ball with zero boost than 100 boost in front of the ball.

      @MrCtwhat 3 місяці тому

      Yeah that traditional 3rd man, like torment/fireburner/ferra doesn’t work in today’s game. All 3 players need to be threatening or else it does get too predictable. Watching Khalid’s gameplay here didn’t look good. He would keep giving away possession and rotate back. Their strategy looks like 2 high level players carrying their low level player, that just tries to fill in the gaps

      not really, guys okhalid is a very similar player to Rado and before you say I'm bronze or whatever I consistently run into both of them in my 2s games. Rado alone is not exactly the most threatening player but within the vitality system they work very well together. The current RL meta doesn't allow for 3 Nwpos or 3 Zens on one team because of how teams have improved upon passively stealing boost and removing players from the game
