A doctor recently told me to take iron and vitamin D (for hair loss) and thanx to your videos I was able to educate her about iron cancelling vitamin D out and being toxic. I don't think she really appreciated that bit of education but I felt I'd done my duty :) Thanx again Doc, for saving the day.

Hi Zigzagpaz, If you are taking supplements for hair loss, I highly recommend to start eating "wheat-germs", I started to consume this wonderful food when I was starting to see a lot of hair coming off on my pillow. 1 tea spoon a day would be more then enough, there are plenty of study's about this magnificent herb.

    Dr Berg notes:
Too much iron over time can cause iron accumulation in your organs and tissues. Some people have a genetic problem that makes it difficult to eliminate iron if it accumulates too much.
Potential side effects of too much iron include the following:
    1. Cancer
    2. Liver disease
    3. Heart disease
    4. Low testosterone
    5. Low libido
    6. Diabetes
    7. Chronic fatigue syndrome
    8. Infertility
    9. Neurodegeneration
    10. Inflammatory diseases
Iron deficiency is one of the most common mineral deficiencies, but iron can also be dangerous if you’re getting too much. Iron toxicity is one of the most underdiagnosed and overlooked conditions.
When you take iron supplements, you don't absorb very much. The excess iron accumulates in the digestive tract, causing constipation, nausea, diarrhea, bloating, and irritation of the colon. The type of iron in iron supplements feeds pathogens.
Red meat is a better source of iron. Heme iron from red meat and fish is absorbed much more easily. It goes straight into the bloodstream. Red meat also has other nutrients like B vitamins, zinc, and selenium. High-quality protein also helps to balance iron.
Many processed foods contain added iron in the forms of ferrous fumarate, ferrous sulfate, and ferrous gluconate. The most common sources of iron are supplements, fortification, and cooking with cast iron cookware. Liver damage will also cause you to accumulate iron.
A lack of copper is a common cause of dysfunctional iron because copper helps control iron in the body. Many enzymes dependent on copper relate directly to the control of iron.
The first enzyme involved with copper converts iron into a less accumulative and less toxic form. Copper also allows you to transport iron through the body. Copper is involved in a powerful antioxidant that reduces oxidation caused by iron!
Glyphosate, antibiotics, high fructose corn syrup, and wheat products can cause copper deficiency. Iron deficiency anemia may really be iron dysfunctional anemia, which is often related to a copper deficiency. Oysters, shellfish, and organ meats are the best food sources of copper.
    Thank you Dr Berg!
    😺👍

I’m a Registered Nurse, I know about rusting of organs and tissues that happens from iron supplements. I use vegetable supplements, I’m a person who eats healthy, meat and vegetables and beets and good stuff that’s iron fortified. I was very symptomatic and unable to function in 2018. For reasons unknown, my level of Hemoglobin was 4. I refused blood transfusions. I did not change my diet because I’m on vegetables but did eat more beef liver. But I think you can elaborate further on this. If I did not take iron 325 sulfate at that time, I would not have been functional. On this account, I’d rather you encourage people to take it to bring levels 🆙 then look into alternatives (food). Not everyone can afford 🐟 and 🥩. Your advice goes a long way.

If I were vegan and I didnt have a medical reason to be a vegan (like allergies for animal proteins) I would eat meat in a heartbeat if it would cure me or even save my life. Veganism is in most cases an ethical choice, brave if people stand above their principles but sometimes you have not much of a choice if you want to live. Thank you for this info. As I have porphyria (and genetic mutation for hemochromatosis which is probably never activated) iron is always on the watchlist for me. But my type of porphyria sometimes create low iron levels, I remember my mom when she had a porphyria episode she would eat lots of iron rich food to boost up her levels after phlebotomy (intensive blood drawing). I used to take a supplement with natural derived iron in high doses to sometimes pull through, but the high amount worried me so I have strict rules for myself on when to take it and never the full dose, I think it has 2500% rda iron in it! Together with a high dose of copper I must say. My daily multivit makes me smile once again because it does not contain iron, but a fair but not over dose of copper. Copper is however a possible trigger for my porphyria so I have to be careful to not overdo copper more than those who do not have any condition responding negative to copper. I notice lately that I and my body thoroughly enjoy (rare) red meat, it is like a sacred elixir for me. Probably because that is a source of iron my body craves for.

This is shocking. 😮 I've been anemic my whole life and now it's so bad that tomorrow I'm receiving 3rd iron infusion of 4 and I've been on a sick leave for 2 weeks because I can't even breathe, let alone think and function.
Now I'm afraid 😨 Because according to what you're saying, these infusions must be the worst thing ever! Because it's a lot of iron in a very short time directly to the blood and I had a severe reaction to it the last time. Couldn't get out of bed for 4 days, my body was like rotten, very painful too. But when I receive the infusion, my blood sugar normalizes like a miracle.
I'm really weak and this is how I help myself cca 2x yearly, but now I'm afraid. 😢
I never liked iron supplements, but I'm taking chlorophyll occasionally.
Ok, let me watch the video on copper too.
Is it possible that anemia is caused by parasites? I have a very unsettling feeling I have parasites.
Anyway, thank you for the bad news 😅❤

i have beta thalassemia trait - genetic blood disorder in which my body cannot form proper red blood cells & be quickly destroyed in my body compared to rbc from normal person. so i have to take iron supplements otherwise i will faint if weather is too hot or standing too long. when i was not taking iron supplements for 6 months, my hemoglobin level could be as low as 6. I passed out multiple times. But if i take the iron supplements I never passed out.

Guess what? My hair fell out when I quit taking iron sups. I just forgot during my move. Hair everywhere!! Red meat didn't help me. Overnight, it all stopped. Point blank because of sups.!!! My hair was emmense before!! I'm on the mend now. The people of the plains cooked on iron 3 times a day, and their hair was massive. Look at the old pictures. Not to be a booger dr. B. YOU KNOW I love you. Just sayin.❤

Dr B. You need to get into high quality supplements from food. They do exist and are of high value to people. Need yo go to well educated natural health food store with high quality supplements and food products and personal care items. Much different than what you talk about. You heed to talk about the alternative options for people.

I hope it's not too late for me. I took a supplement that had 18mgs of iron in it,then when I was finished with that, I have another liquid brand by Mary Ruth that I take a teaspoon of according to the instructions for my age group!
I was led to believe also that iron was good for hair loss in conjunction with vitamin D!
Is there any way I could flush whatever's in my system OUT??

When I took iron, it would make me constipated. So I haven't taken it individually in a long time. I either eat more red meat or spinach if I feel I need more, usually during my menses.

He say's to use whole food supplements like Grass Fed Beef Liver instead. Or for even more iron you can't take a heart & spleen supplement. I am anemic and I take all three. Liver, heart, & Spleen. They are also high in copper which he mentions is needed.

Copper is the boss over iron :) PLEASE either remove Iron from your electrolytes or create a new entire line for those of us who shouldn't add iron to their diet. Your brand is the ONLY brand we buy.. I'm pretty sure post menopausal women don't need iron lol .. you should also inform viewers about what tests they need to insist upon with their "doctor" which is:
    Serum iron
Ferritin / stored iron never over 100!
    tibc
    uibc
