Nice collection. During the past year I have started adding some JPs to our yard but I am limited due to the lack of shade. I currently have a Sango Kaku, Fireglow, Hot Blonde, Seiryu and Bloodgood. I must admit for only four years old, I think your trees have grown pretty fast. Thanks for sharing.
Such a great fall colors! Which zone are you in? I hope my maples will look like that some day. I started collecting May this year and only have 15 maples that are still small 😀.
Did you show Aconitifolium in this video? Someone mentioned it in one of the comments below but I don't remember seeing it. If you did let me know where in the video it is. I planted two of them over the past couple years but the fall color wasn't as nice as I expected. However, I may plant another one this year because I saw a beautiful tree that looks like Aconitifolium in my neighborhood. The Aconitifolium had a beautiful chartreuse color in the spring.
Honestly, I don’t believe I’ve shown that variety, but I believe they are referring to my japonicum vitofolium grape leaf Japanese maple tree or japonicum rising Sun, Japanese maple tree as the aconitifolium is a japonicum they all look pretty similar. I will say the colors very some years very yellow, some years very red, or a mix of the two. They can also be found at the times of 14:48 rising sun and 0:08 grape leaf and although I didn’t show it in this video, but I do own a full moon, Japanese maple tree by the name of fairy lights also part of the japonicum family, which just so happens to be a another common name for “aconitifolium” (aconitifolium=full moon )
A couple other trees that I have are not Japanese Maples. They are beautiful variegated dogwood trees, Cornus controversa 'Variegata'. The only thing that I don't like about them is that there is no change in fall color, and it is difficult to see the flowers because they blend in with the leaves. However it has significant contrast with any trees that have green leaves and brightens up the yard.
Osakazuki might be the tree that initially got me interested in Japanese Maples. I finally found one online and planted it in 2022. The company that I purchased it from just called it Osakazuki, but it does have an orange amber color tint that then turns to a traditional green in the summer, so I am not sure if it is the Osakazuki akame or Osakazuki.
Oh yes Osakazuki is one of my favorite I have two one of them is the regular Osakazuki in the other is “Akame Osakazuki” the akame is my favorite, because unlike the others, it leafs out a olive color in spring It’s so fascinating.
I found your channel and you have very awesome forest/garden with cool collection!

I have given them lots of love
I think after the first two years in the ground they start taking off quickly I believe after 10 years the tree should be around 20-25 foot tall
Aconitifolium for the win. Thats not a garden. Thats a small forest! Fantastic work!
I really want it to feel like a small forest
Great video. Learned of a couple new cultivars from your video. Where are you buying yours? Thanks

Dog woods are so pretty I love the variegated verities the red fruit contrast well with the leaves
