What we call 'the IMF crisis' hit. Shortage of foreign exchange resulted in very strict restrictions from the IMF(not sure if I put that right, sbd help!!!). It was a tough, tough time I remember. Crazy things happened to overcome it - like ppl donating personal items made in gold to pay back the country's debt.. I donated my piggy bank!!!!! (A lot of kids did and I was 11) Can't even imagine happening nowadays but yeh.
