Hey folks! Ryan here. Hope you liked my first descent into spooky town over here at the ol’ Watcher. If you find your thirst for Spooky Small Talk is not satiated, first off thank you, and secondly, I have great news. There’s audio commentary available on our Patreon - patreon.com/watcher - in which I talk about the behind the scenes process, and the slow cooking of my brain that occurred making this show. Anyways, thanks for watching and have a good rest of your day. Ta ta!
idk what to say except, all hail the watcher 😎♥️
I’d love to see Eugene in this series to see if he’d stay stone faced or not
Lmao I’m really enjoying it, Ryan!! Can’t wait to see more episodes!!
It was amazing!!!
I absolutely loved it! can't wait for more!
“I’m Jewish please stay away.”
“What does that have to do with it?”
“Because it’s a nun, I don’t believe in her.”
So Jewish religion doesn't have nuns? Or is that the thing where people believe Catholics worship saints and stuff talking?
@@WhiffleWaffles nuns are only Catholic, I'm pretty sure. You basically are married to god if you're a nun
@@kittikat4124 God gets around.
But yes, in the Middle Eastern Religions Catholics are the only ones with nuns.
I want a t-shirt with that quote!
I screamed at that part
Ryan's dropping "I'm the expert" and "I've seen a demon" like he's the freakin' Steve Irwin of demon hunting as if he didn't black out every time he went where a demon allegedly was lol
He hangs out with Shane everyday, he’s the demon.
Dee B.
Like he said, it’s because this is a controlled environment. Everything happens like it should, there’s no actual life-or-death threat, this compared to the actual unpredictable demon hunts he does with Shane, this would be less scarier for him, if ya couldn’t figure tht out lol
That's the beauty of Ryan, beautiful shit comes out of his mouth, amazing (in a good way)
mood, tho
he is the Steve Irwin tho lol
The guy in the beginning: “Hi welcome to...”
Ryan “oh no it’s okay I do this for a living. I hunt ghosts for a living.”
The guy: 👁👄👁
I was like poor guy, hes just tryna do the one job he has💀
Ricky Goldsworth coming through
the Patricia same I felt kinda bad for him 😅
Hahaha for this house he's supposed to go on a speech about the ghost who just came out from the top and how she lives there in case anyone wanted to know 😂
It's basically the Ron and Home Depot Employee meme
I’ll never get over Shane and Ryan killing the Try Guys in the Sims.
Lol yea
This is their first step
I can't wait to look for this
Dying girl: “I messed up i’m sorry!”
*gets hung*
Ryan: “Anyways, tell me-”
This part had me laughing so hard 😂😂
8:05
And right after they talk about depression
I was just about to comment that lol
the chaotic energy of the jumpscares and then ryan just being like "so yeah what were you like in high school?" is god tier
soph thank you so much for this comment😂
👏👏👏
I love how nonchalant Ryan is when in a "real" haunted house if a floor board creaks he's done
tbh i think it’s the knowledge that it’s supposed to happen
I’m cackling at the phrasing of how he said he doesn’t “believe in” nuns. I know what he meant but I just really love that the way he said it implies that nuns are like god or ghosts where if you don’t believe in them you just think they don’t exist.
Bam
you guys should just get the whole “left buzzfeed” squad together in one video
Hahahaha like safiya
Get safiya up in here
i mean technically ryan, steven, and shane haven’t left buzzfeed entirely
They still have a contract with buzzfeed though.
Yes!! Try guys, Saf, Chantel lmao
A "haunted" house attraction seems like a joke to Ryan at this point.
I just love how people use humor and bad jokes to get rid of their fear. It's cool how humans resort to that.
He's not even flinching! Hahaha
I think he mentioned that spooky THEMED stuff doesn’t scare him bc his life isn’t actually in danger... But it is sort of strange and delightful to see it in action
i love how ryan was like i have seen a demon this doesn't phase me lol
@@junelqy wait until you see the shane one,he is pretty scared in there and shane just blinks to the camera and blinks at the bloody people.
“I do this for a living” and “I’ve seen a demon before” both have such powerful energy and idk how to describe that??
ZACH’S LITTLE “hi dear” AT THE NURSE OH PLEASE STOP IT’S TOO MUCH FOR MY LITTLE HEART
"it's okay I do this for a living. I am a ghost hunter."
This is present tense. "I AM a ghost hunter" and "I DO this for a living." As opposed to "I WAS a ghost hunter" and "I DID this for a living." This gives me hope for another unsolved supernatural and true crime series.
They said in a previous video they will continue doing unsolved :)
Kalley McClure they stated in yesterday’s watcher weekly that they’re still going to work on those shows.
They're gonna keep doing unsolved
@Victoria Winters there's a contract for at least one more season
Oh thank you! I wasn't able to watch the last watcher's weekly yet, so I missed that.
"it's a nun I don't believe in her"
Zach said it first, nuns aren't real
Nuns are fictional beings invented by the pope to sell more movies
yeah, it was fun to see that little guy saying: "I'm Jewish. I don't believe in you. "
I was like: Stick to your beliefs, little one
So the nuns I see in my catholic school aren't real? Lol jk they're super cool.
Zach is going to have to explain the trauma of my Catholic school years.
I had old school nuns there and yes, the wooden ruler thing is real.
@@recoil53 yeah, the one I had as a teacher in elementary Catholic school almost ruined my childhood. I was in tears of joy when I went to the public school system.
“I’m Jewish I don’t believe in you.” Is the funniest line.
alternate title: the internet's biggest sweeties take on Knotts Scary Farm
“alright folks we’re here-“
ryan: “it’s alright i do this for a living”
ryan absolutely destroyed that man in one sentence
Was honestly a dick move on his behalf, I don’t think that guy could tell that he was joking
/jokes aside, he fully cut off a man who was mid-sentence and just tryna do his job
I was just imagining this guy getting pumped up for his debut on this channel, like being all excited and reciting what he was going to say, just for that to happen... I'm caught between finding it funny and sad
@@emilysimmons8737 that was scripted...he's ok.
*Girl gets hanged and dragged into the ceiling while she screams in pure terror *
Ryan: *anyways*
**squeezes Ryan's biceps**
"Have you been working out?"

Me, instantly: Ryan you work with a demon...
Should've interviewed him in a cornfield
B.E. TreeFrog a haunted corn maze, of course 🤦🏽♀️
@@saintt9044 definently
@@saintt9044 in PA all cornfields are haunted. They should come to PA. There's the old prison that is haunted and now it's being used for a film and then a winery, so it'll no longer be avaliable for ghost hunters I think.
I already know that I will sound petty but his name is German and Korn in Germany is not the same as the corn in America
A Kornfeld is a field with wheat
A haunted maize
Zack and Ryan in a haunted house = Chaotic yet entertaining mess
Ryan: "You stay cool I guess????? I don't know what to say to demons----"
just scream choo choo pickle pie in their ear in mothman language and volume
Haunted prison that he went insane in?
10:14
Ryan: *I've seen a DEMON*
me: Shane doesn't look like that tho
Maybe not on the outside
They edit it out, to make him look more human
I’m gonna be so pissed if some random talkshow host steals this idea
Ellen has done this many times
Isabel A. Ellen sends her producer Andy to go through haunted houses with celebs, they don’t do interviews in there
if steven appears in this episode, then we have a video with one representative from each of the buzzfeed holy trinity present: the try guys, unsolved, and worth it.
t t unfortunately I think Steven would die of fear
safiya for lady like :(
J B the new cast ruined LadyLike for me 😷
ISS TF is ladylike still a thing ? :o
And Michelle
Zach: you have to kill the father to grow, that’s the Oedipus story.
Me: I mean he also married his mother, gouged out his eyes, and literally all his children died because of suicide or they killed eachother but sure yeah go off
did Ryan just said at 10:15 "I've SEEN a demon before" and Zach just went "okay"
girl that's hang gliding across the room: *huahaHUAAAAHAUU*
ryan: *casually* "so what were you like in highschool?"
Now all they need is Safiya to finish the "Why We Left Buzzfeed" hat trick
dont forget Michelle khare
I would LOVE to see Safiya and Tyler in a haunted house.
She didn’t start that trend
Missy Barbour I would love to see Safiya run this gauntlet 😂
Kelsey Darragh too
"Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover event in history."
Ryan: hold my holy water
It's so weird seeing Zach be taller than Ryan
"zach i've seen a demon before"
that wouldn't be shane would it ryan
shane is ryan's sleep paralysis demon
yoooo thats what i thought too
I like that Ryan is doing this in his beloved Knott's Berry Farm.
Even though he is scared, he's in his favorite place.
Jason Phillips that’s exactly what I thought!!
“Are hitting on my camera man?”
“I’m not hitting on him I’m just talking to the guy!”
**Zach at the end of a haunted house**
*"Sir thank you for your service"*
😂😂😂😂😂

Ryan: ANywaYs!
Man at the start: “Alright folks we’re here..”
Ryan: I’m gonna destroy this mans whole career
Ryan flexing being a ghost hunter
"Oh it's okay I do this for a living"
"Zach, I've seen a demon"
Take it one step further and have an interview in the Sallie house😂
Ryan would never go back to that house. Not after that flashlight incident.
*Rock and roll, buckaroo!*
Ryland mendoza and interview Shane there
Ryan you should do a show where you interview people while on a rollercoaster. It would be hilarious to watch you scream questions and have your guests scream answers.
sequel to spooky small talk: death-defying discussions
Jenna Molina lmao now they have to do this and credit you for the title
Dont know how practical that'd be
Stephen Colbert does that!
ShanexEugene lmao
ryan: i've seen a demon before
me: shane does not count.
Zach: "The four of us... You have to kill the father to grow"
2023: AND THE TRY GUYS SURE DID KILL THE FATHER
I love the show, but I’m not sure the incessant instant-replays benefit the show. If I want to see a reaction again I can rewind in my own time, and I feel it rather breaks the flow of the interview more than is really necessary. Great show though
Matoro Owen I agree, or save a few good replays for the end possibly. But I would still watch either way (:
Well the shows are in beta so I'm sure they can take all the criticism they can get to improve
@@cgill914 I like that idea. I think the episodes releasing for the first few months are prerecorded and already ready for posting, but I'm sure if the watcher staff or Ryan sees it he might be edited.
Replays of the best moments at the end would be nice.
Yes the replays were disturbing
I love the show and format, but I agree that it would be better with less replays that breaks the flow.
This is the best talk show gimmick ever
Also as a haunt actor, we love it when you laugh, that means we're doing our job. As long as you REACT, we're happy.
"as long as you react we're happy"
*Shane madej has left the chat*
*pisses on the floor*
@@jasperray you joke but honestly there are some actors who are specifically going for that. I never understood it because it seems terrible for everyone involved, but it's a badge of honor if you scare someone enough that they pee.
@@spookymia8135 What if all i do is point and say/scream no at them? or compliment their makeup XD
@@galeforcegames7529 Pointing and saying no is good because it means you're obviously involved in what's happening. Screaming no is better because it means you're /emotionally/ involved, probably a little scared, and therefore we're doing our job. Complimenting makeup is /great/ because it means you're complimenting our makeup team (which might just be us or might be others being paid to do it, depending on the haunt and the actor in question) and everyone loves to have their hard work recognized. Also, it can sometimes open up opportunity for conversation. I had a girl compliment my hair once which was a nice segue into me offering to cut hers, with a comically large knife prop. Standing in a corner and just screaming at people gets boring; if you acknowledge us as an individual instead of just set dressing, it means you made our night more interesting for at least a second.
okay but that was actually a pretty good interview in itself considering ryan & zach are usually the ones who get scared the most
literally right before this I watched the "try guys recreate fanfiction" video in which Zach is being described as having been draped all over Ryan Bergara earlier that evening. Coincidence? I think not.
at the end when Zach tells Ryan "We're proud of you" ...my heart
one criticism: I feel like they use the replay function too liberally, it happens like every five seconds for every reaction so it loses it's power, but other than that it's a fantastic show, good job Ryan!
"it's fun to be scared" said by the guy who is scared to death in every Unsolved episode 😂 love it. Haha
I really enjoy the show, the whole setup and having the guests answer questions and trying to stay on topic while visibly distressed is wonderful, but the instant replays really feel over the top. I'm not against instant replays entirely, just the sheer number of them feels like too much. Three or so really good scares would fit better and be less disrupting of the flow. Keep it up tho!
The premise is really interesting! You're right about the replays but I always thought the whole point of it is having all that adrenaline rush and vulnerability of fear sort of making you doubt your answers less. What comes out is more truthful-you don't get the time and brainspace to double think it.
this show kinda reminds me of hot ones like how they ask questions while quite visibly distressed
YES major hot ones vibes from this! I hope Watcher is successful enough to end up on their show...
There is a saying: "Good artists borrow, great artists steal." Since I think Ryan is a very gifted artist I think he definitely took the inspiration for this show from Sean Evans' "Hot Ones". But Bergara being Bergara---he's gonna do it HIS way. And that's why this is a brilliant concept. I agree with most of the other comments that the replays need to be toned down a bit, but this is still new so give The Bergara time to work the kinks out.
yes, I was thinking the same
Just by this ep so far, Ryan honestly did a great job with this series concept/setup. I love that it’s not just a direct run through of the haunted maze while going through the interview, but he lets the guest(s) have a break and sit down during the mini segments. The level/format of questions are also done well because of the research done and the fact that you have to put some thought into the response. All of their hard work definitely shows and can’t wait for the next ep/series!
"I'm jewish!!" "What does that have to do with it?" "Shes a nun, I dont believe in her!" XDDDD
Honestly I think, Zach is such an interesting person, and I love hearing him talk about his thoughts on stuff.
For years people have been begging for them to start their own channel yet when they do they dont subscribe hellooooo quality content here
Unfortunately some people might not be aware of this happening, or they're only interested in unsolved. I'm interested to see how puppet history goes, it was a fun time watching it live and guessing the answers in chat. Unsolved is still going but I'm unsure if I'll be subscribed to them or not, guess I will to show love and support even though the other content on the channel is bullcrap.
I found myself😊
I had no idea this even happened until I was scrolling through worth it comments.
I just found out with this video and immediately subscribed. It'll probably take some time, I think it was easier for the Try Guys because their channel kept their brand, I clicked on this video from Watcher thinking a magazine or something was interviewing Zach.
I only found this channel accidentally!!
There was no information about this channel anywhere
I am a Shaniac and Only waited for BUN to update..
More people need to advertise this channel
" I don't know what to say to demons" "I'm an expert" so what is the truth Ryan???
*finger guns* That's social anxiety baby, you don't know what to say to anybody, especially at work.

I love how Ryan is calm af in a haunted house but as soon as he goes to a real one he’s terrified lmaoo

yep, i did right, choosin' to stan this man
it's kind of weird to see ryan more composed
Imagine if one of the actors was their fans and when they walked by they were just like, “OMG RYAN AND ZACH OMG! I LOVE YOU!”
2:35
* spooky woman comes out zipping across the room saying "you're going to die" *

Ah. You must have missed the Charleston jail, when his brain literally *broke.*
The Sallie House
Yeah the finale of last season of paranormal is like bruh ryan lost his miiind
"Are you hitting on my camera man?" * jealousy has been activated *
I love this wholeheartedly!!
I especially adore and respect how Zach is able to always revert back to Ryan’s questions even with all the chaotic energy.
Great first episode of Spooky Small Talk and great first guest!
As an OCD advocate, I need to know more about Zach having it! While I do not believe it goes away (from personal experience), I'd love to hear his story about it going into remission.
That being said, Ryan, this was stellar! Just wonderful. Obviously a lot of hard work went into this and it shows. I cannot wait to see more Spooky Small Talk.
He actually talked about his OCD and mental health on Trypod, you should definitely check it out
Question for Watcher Weekly: Are you going to be going to the same attraction for each Spooky Small Talk? Or are there multiple haunted houses that you'll be going between?
Treats, absolute treats. My life has purpose again when Ryan enters 'haunted' places
I love this, but I feel like there’s too many replays of the scares :P
I really love the Spooky Small Talk with Ryan concept though hahahahha 😊
Zach is literally me in a haunted house: scream laughing “OH MY GOD” hahahahah
Not a huge fan of all the “Replays”. Feels like a bad Guava Juice video. Otherwise, not bad.
unrelated but isn't every small talk spooky by default
Certainly makes my fight or flight response activate 😂
"I'm jewish stay away!"
Best line in the whole video
"She's nun I don't believe in her!"
georgia a mood
Did anyone else catch Ryan saying, "Zach, I've seen a demon before" at 10:14???? I truly think it was Ryan saying Shane truly is a demon.
But this was funnier than it was scary but props to you Ryan and Zach for not dying in there!
This show would be better if the setting was an actual haunted location.
To quote Zach "that would be wasting content" as going to an actual haunting location would be content all on it own.
I gotta ask, how much were the performers there just so holding back the laughter at these two adorkable men trying to conduct a deeply personal interview around them? Such a creative idea, I love it! Hilarious to watch! :D
I know one of the performers is deaf and she was like, “I can’t hear the stupid, I’m just here to scare it”
Lol

Too many 'replays', made the scares overdone but otherwise an entertaining episode
Ryan: I guess I don’t know how to talk to demons
Ryan, that literally your job
"All Hail the Watcher!"
I liked this idea for a show!
However I didn’t really like the instant replays. They were kinda cheesy and redundant and broke the flow of the video a lot.
But overall I’m very excited to see more!
Yeah, the replays kind of reminded me of how they replay "funny scenes" over and over on Korean entertainment shows. It gets abit tired after a while.
This is SUCH a cool idea for an interview series, and I'm just taking bets on which talk show gon try to steal this :// Also i think the hospital nurse was the spookiest one for me, but all these performers were amazing. With some of the wild shit these two said i would've had a hard time keeping inn a giggle
just wanted to thank you guys for putting captions in your videos, it really helps a lot of people (me included) to have an easier viewing experience! loving the new content, looking forward to seeing more from you guys
I still think about Ryan laughing maniacally and not remembering anything when he came out
“I don’t know what you say to demons” what do you mean Ryan? You talk to Shane all the time
haunted house actor: *spooks the two*
ryan and zach: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ryan: ... uh sO ANYWAY

13:24 “you hitting on my camera man?” Lmao Ryan what
__WOW__
“Its a nun I don’t believe in her!”
Also, my rheumatologist think i may have undifferentiated spondyloarthritis, which is related to ankylosing spondylitis, and Zach’s story made me push my doctors for a diagnosis and while I’m still fighting (still have to have a hip xray and a bone morrow thingy) it honestly feels good to have a potential diagnosis when previously I was just told all my pain was from being a woman... basically I was being diagnosed with hysteria, which still is such a huge problem in women finding real problems with them
I relate to this a lot. His video also led me to push my doctor for tests just to rule it out. (This after years of also being dismissed as hysterical and/or "just" depressed, as if debilitating pain was just in my head)
Had a similar experience except I’m a guy and got told by my therapist my eating disorder wasn’t valid and I just “need to eat”
Jimmy Gayerson there’s a quote i like from the head doctor at standford children’s center for eating disorders which is (roughly), “not only do men suffer from eating disorders on relatively equal terms to women, they also suffer greatly from not being diagnosed with eating disorders”.
anyway. hang in there man
My sister was diagnosed with PCOS at 16 after she saw a woman on tv dealing with it and realized a lot of the symptoms were the same leading to her pushing her doctor to run tests. They didnt even call her to confirm she had it until 2 months later when she mentioned it again and the doctor just went, "oh yeah you do"
Then they also kept suggesting she drink milk when shes lactose intolerant and many women with pcos are on record saying it makes their symptoms worse 🤦🏾♀️
"that's a horrifying laugh sir " my favorite quote from Ryan 😂
7:20 is it just me or did the nun smile ever so slightly lmao
Can i just say being a fan of all of you since the first time ive seen you all on youtube, I am extremely proud of all your accomplishments this past year. Since the last season of buzzfeed unsolved i knew that something big was gonna happen with you guys. Y'all are going places!!!! All Hail the Watcher! ☺
"Thank you for your service" is the exact way to talk to service workers
i'm coming back after Zach's new podcast, Guilty Pleasures, did their F&F pod. i now realize how much they had to edit down of zach's f&f defense in the beginning, geez 😂
Two bottoms having some bonding time is the one thing I want to watch on a Friday afternoon, nothing else.
I ADORE THIS COMMENT
HELLO, I have a question for watcher weekly:
how do you cope with the stress of getting everything done in this show (as I assume you have limited time in the haunted house) with the added stress of people jumping out at you?
Also congrats to Shane, Ryan and Steven for starting watcher, you guys are amazing
thank you :)
Soph B by stresscrying
These were really good questions! It's nice hearing an interview where you can tell a lot of thought was put behind everything, as opposed to a lot of the superficial "small talk" that is constantly reused
Love it. Awesome work, Ryan.
On top of that, the haunted mansion actors were... phew amazing. Didn't break character for a second.
