TY Jason, but the problem for new TONEX users is sometimes there are presets in tonenet as just amp, but they have the cab already load in. Most of the presets have just the basic info, so u have to be careful, dudes.
Imho any tonex pack should have DI's cause u can always add an IR later but if u intend to use it through a real cab and power amp and take off the cab from a complete preset it sucks
Theres a few scenarios , one is what u mentioned. On most guitar amps u can bypass the pre amp stage and use tonex to provide the pre amp. So you'd be using tonex for the preamp section but still using the power amp section of the amp to drive the real cabinet. U could either mic up this cabinet and record with or just play live with it.
I'd say you would want cabs on your presets when running through a PA. You can get some really cool gritty sounds without a cab though, which is cool sometimes!
I gave up on DI captures, every time i try to use an IR with it it kills the gain of the di and Ruins the capture, can't get any answers from anybody about what's causing it . Wasted money on York audio ir's and can't get them to work with di amps
@howtopi9941 matt fig jvm profiles that I bought but it's the same with any di profile and it's a York green back paid pack.. chain ..guitar,tonex to boss sde-3 to radial di box.

This is a really good point. It took me awhile to figure this out. Glad this info is now out there. Thanks!
My pleasure and glad you enjoyed :-)

When would I not want a cab on the preset im using? If i'm playing live and im already going through an amp? What if i'm going through the PA?

I didn’t know that we could switch in between the captured cabs to use with DI captures, that’s REALLY COOL stuff!!! Great video man!
Thanks so much and glad it was helpful :-)
So taking what you’ve taught here, how in the world would I amplify these presets through a tube amp on stage?
great Info. Do you see any problem using the IRs in the Powercab 112+ for Tonex DI captures? Thanks Jason!
Thank you! The IRs in the PowerCab should work just fine, IMO!

Is it your capture or a ToneNET DI capture? What is your effects pedal chain? How are you using the IR? Your IR, or commercial?
